Awakening Through Adversity
Today’s episode features Dori Olds, founder of Beyond Creation Institute. Dori shares her very public journey through adversity, growth, and transformation—and how those experiences led her to years of deep learning around survival, healing, and self-discovery.In this conversation, we explore what it means to trust Divine Guidance and your Soul when making decisions that align with your true life purpose. Dori explains how her training across multiple healing modalities has empowered her to guide clients toward understanding that every life experience—especially the difficult ones—carries meaning.She introduces the idea of “maximizing the ticket price of life,” encouraging us to reflect on the lessons embedded in our struggles and tragedies. Her husband was incarcerated in 1987, (Netflix documentary: Murder Among The Mormons) for murder and forgery. She was left with 4 young Children, 5, 3, 2, 6 weeks. She started a daycare in her home, sold cakes, did sewing & ironing to support her self, and her family. She divorced in 1988.She was always interested in holistic health and began to pursue her interests and educate herself. Just like certain pine trees that need to experience a forest fire to germinate its seeds. When Your Body Speaks: Emotions, Adrenals & Misalignment
Our bodies are incredible.They are constantly communicating with us—through emotions, inner feelings, and physical sensations. Yet, many of us were never taught how to truly listen. Instead of receiving these messages as guidance, we’ve been conditioned to meet them with fear. We rely heavily on overthinking when making decisions, often ignoring our innate inner knowing.Over time, this disconnection can manifest in the body as adrenal stress, emotional overwhelm, nervous system dysregulation, and physical symptoms.In today’s episode, we explore our inner guide, the nervous system, and the impact cortisol has on the body. As always, we come back to alignment—connecting with our true selves and releasing the pressure to think, act, and be according to external expectations.Many of us find ourselves asking for answers again and again, only to feel frustrated when they don’t come. But the real question is: are we truly listening?Our Higher Power and inner guidance system often speak through the body. We also receive messages through synchronicities—people, moments, and experiences that guide us, validate what we already feel, or gently nudge us toward action. Learning how your soul speaks is key to recognizing what those answers look like for you.Your soul craves silence. Silence is where clarity lives. It’s how we hear guidance, connect to Source, and begin to untangle the confusion that so often dominates our world today.Yet silence is something many of us avoid—because it asks us to face the truth. What we’re avoiding. What needs to change. The Cost of People-Pleasing, Perfectionism, and the Need to Be Loved
Helen’s personal healing journey began the way it does for so many people—through the challenge of chronic illness. She experienced severe symptoms, including neurological issues and even periods where she was unable to walk, which eventually led doctors to suspect a possible MS diagnosis. She was told that getting better would likely cost a great deal of money, yet at the same time, there was little they could actually offer in terms of real solutions.In our conversation, we explore the immense pressure many women feel to prove their worth through constant productivity—overworking, caring for everyone else, and rarely prioritizing their own needs. Helen reflects on how she ignored the signals her body was sending and kept “pushing through,” as so many women are conditioned to do, until her body ultimately crashed.She also opens up about the emotional toll of chronic illness. In the religious environment she grew up in, illness was often viewed as a form of punishment, which added layers of shame and confusion to an already difficult experience. Helen shares how these beliefs affected her self-esteem and mental health, and how her journey eventually led her to a deeper understanding of healing, the body, and the nervous system. Release Yourself From the Burden of Perfection
With so many choices coming at us from every direction, I wanted to discuss the importance of self care and taking small steps towards change vs waiting for the timing to be right to go “all in”. When working to make a lifestyle changes around your physical health symptoms, weight loss, autoimmune or other issues, it’s important to focus on the root cause of the physical problem which is often stress. Most of us are experiencing nervous system dysregulation and even struggling with guidance from our Inner Self and the conditioning that keeps us searching for answers outside of ourselves.The increasing amount of online information, that is often contradictory, is causing confusion and, for some, fear. The key is learning to get into a relaxed state and beginning to feel what is correct for us in our bodies before logic takes over. Health is not a “one size fits all”. Each of us have different genetics, childhood and life experiences and body compositions…that’s why fad diets and prescriptions only work temporarily, in most cases. Your body has the innate ability to self-heal but it needs the right conditions in order for that to kick in. Mitigating stress, detoxing & improving nutrition are all part of helping the body do what it was designed to do…HEAL! In this episode we discuss tips on nervous system regulation, making time to quiet the mind and to do things that calm us down or make us happy. Your Frequency is Your Superpower
If you’re struggling with all of the darkness in the world, this episode is for you. I want you to know that there is so much Light and that our ability to recognize our own inner Light aka Frequency, can expand enough to smother out the darkness. In today’s episode we talk about the work of David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D., his book Power Vs. Force, and the frequency of different emotions such as shame, guilt and fear vs. authenticity, courage and gratitude.Here are a few of the tools I offered to help you create awareness on what is lowering your frequency and how to raise it:* Creating Awareness - Start paying attention to what/who brings your vibration down on a daily basis. Also, what/who increases your vibration. * Limiting Exposure to Low Frequencies - This could be media, people, environments, etc.* Exposing yourself to high frequency - People, activities, books and modalities. When Sensitivity Looks Like Illness
In this episode, my beautiful friend Ruth and I gently reflect on her childhood and the first signs of her natural ability to feel and ease pain, discovered while supporting her mother through illness with energy healing.We explore how children are often incredibly perceptive, intuitively picking up on the emotional cues of family members and their environment. Ruth shares how this heightened sensitivity impacted her health so profoundly that she was labeled a hypochondriac.Later in life, Ruth discovered she had carried the Epstein-Barr virus throughout much of her childhood—an experience she now understands as being deeply connected to her extreme sensitivity. The Physical Cost of Disconnection from Spirit & Self Betrayal
So many people close to me are struggling with some type of health crisis and it’s hurting my heart. Illness can be prevented and the body can heal. The problem is, we are too busy, too tired and too lazy to do what it takes to create health and wellness. We have been conditioned to seek health guidance, through one source, life on a hamster wheel of stress and to expect a “quick fix” or a “magic pill”. We are not listening and so our bodies are creating pain, fatigue, anxiety and other symptoms to get our attention. The body’s ultimate purpose is to survive and when it is overloaded, it will breakdown. Lack of connection to Spirit will cause us to lose essential Life Force Energy and that is when our systems begin to crash. A Willing Release

“Your Epigenetics + Your Energetics are the Key to Whole Body Wellness”
If you’re struggling with health issues, and you can’t find answers, I get understand. At the peak of my illness, I was willing to try anything to get better and improve my life. This lead me on a journey where I discovered Alternative Healing and that our symptoms are related to more than just our physical bodies. Many of the physical symptoms we experience are the body’s way of letting us know we need to address or resolve something internal. This could be emotional issues or stress, being out of alignment with our self and our purpose or that we are disconnected from Spirit. Most disease, chronic illness, autoimmune and other symptoms are related to Lifestyle & Environment. You are not destined to be sick just because people in your family were/are. Yes, you may be predisposed to specific health issues genetically, but it’s your Lifestyle that turns on those “bad genes” and your body has the ability to turn them off.Lifestyle includes our emotional wellbeing, our connection to Higher Power, relationships, career, physical health habits, self care, internal thoughts, conditioning and so much more! I’m so grateful you’re here, tuning in, and beginning this journey with me. This space has been on my heart for a long time, and today, I finally get to open the door and invite you in.I created The Aligned Lifestylist platform because I believe that alignment—true alignment—touches every area of our lives: our soul, our energy, our health, our mindset, and the way we show up in the world. And somewhere along my own path, I learned that when we shift from living on autopilot to living with intention, everything changes. Our relationships change. Our bodies respond differently. Our energy expands. Our lives begin to feel like ours again.So I want to share a little bit about who I am and why I do this work.My journey into alignment wasn’t a straight path—it was messy, healing, awakening, unraveling, and rebuilding all at once. I went through seasons where I felt disconnected from myself, unsure of my purpose, exhausted from trying to live up to expectations that weren’t even mine. And then came the defining moment: I realized that I could either continue living from obligation, fear, and misalignment… or I could choose to design a life that actually felt good to my soul.That choice changed everything.It led me to explore energetics, embodiment, holistic wellness, and the powerful connection between mind, body, and spirit. It pushed me to rethink success, to honor my intuition, and to follow this deep pull toward healing—not only for myself, but for others.And that’s why I love what I do.Being The Aligned Lifestylist isn’t about having a perfect life.
