Embodied Grace with Author Stacey Webb
Guest: Stacey Webb Author of Embodied Grace and creator of the Embodied Grace Card Deck With a unique background as a former detective, Stacey Webb now guides individuals toward self-compassion, embodied presence, and intuitive trust. Her work supports people in expanding their sense of safety, releasing self-criticism, and stepping fully into themselves with grace. Stacey is the author of three books, with her newest offering, Embodied Grace, inviting readers into a deeper relationship with themselves through softness, awareness, and inner support. In this episode, we explore Stacey’s journey from detective work to the healing space, the realities of writing a book, and what it truly means to embody grace in everyday life. ✨ Key Takeaways The reality of writing a book Writing a book is a deeply transformative process that often requires more patience, resilience, and personal evolution than we initially expect. What “embodied grace” really means It’s about allowing yourself to be supported—by the divine, the universe, or your higher self—and expressing that through grounded presence, humility, and self-love. Healing people-pleasing patterns Moving beyond people-pleasing and weak boundaries often involves addressing deeper fears, such as abandonment and rejection. The power of curiosity over judgment Self-awareness rooted in curiosity (rather than criticism) creates space for real healing and lasting transformation. Small acts of self-love matter Gentle reminders, support systems, and daily acts of compassion toward yourself can significantly shift how you show up in your life. 📚 Resources Mentioned Embodied Grace (book) Embodied Grace Card Deck 🔗 Connect with Stacey Website: https://www.staceywebb.com.au/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_staceywebb/

The Importance of Educating our Clients with Andrea & Josie with Melissa
EPISODE SUMMARY In this episode, Melissa sits down with Josie Cowley and Andrea Crabtree — holistic counsellor and social worker/therapist respectively — to explore why psychoeducation is one of the most powerful things a practitioner can offer their clients. The conversation digs into the real challenges therapists face when precious session time gets eaten up by foundational explanations, and how Josie and Andrea set out to solve that with their video series, Why Do I Feel This Way? From nervous system regulation and subconscious patterns to generational trauma and the power of self-compassion, this episode is packed with insight — whether you're a practitioner wanting to deepen your work, or someone on their own healing journey trying to understand themselves better. KEY TAKEAWAYS Psychoeducation changes everything in the therapy room. When clients arrive already understanding their nervous system and emotional patterns, practitioners can spend less time teaching and more time doing the actual healing work. Josie shared that when a recent client hadn't watched the videos beforehand, she felt the gap immediately — there simply wasn't enough time to cover the education and hold proper space for the work. Co-regulation requires space and slowness. A rushed session affects more than just content — it affects the felt sense of safety in the room. When practitioners aren't scrambling to explain foundational concepts, they can slow down, attune, and offer the kind of regulated presence that is, in itself, deeply therapeutic. You don't have to believe every thought you have. Andrea spoke beautifully about how many of us grew up in a culture that treats thoughts as facts. One of the most liberating shifts the course offers is helping people notice their thoughts with curiosity rather than being pulled into every spiral — not to stop the thoughts, but to build the capacity to sit with them compassionately. Generational trauma explains so much. Josie spoke about how often clients carry pain that isn't even theirs — inherited stress, fear, and patterns passed down through family lines. Understanding this can bring enormous relief, shifting the narrative from "something is wrong with me" to "I'm carrying something that was never mine to carry." Self-awareness reduces shame. A recurring theme throughout the episode was how understanding why we feel the way we do removes the shame around it. Our survival responses, emotional patterns, and nervous system reactions make sense in context — and once people understand that, healing becomes possible. The course supports practitioners too. Whether you're newly qualified and building your language, or a seasoned practitioner looking for a fresh way to explain core concepts, the series offers a shared framework that works across modalities. It also now carries 10 CPD points with both the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and the CPD Group. It doesn't replace therapy — it amplifies it. As Andrea put it, this resource creates hope and reduces shame. It's a complement to the deeper work, not a substitute for it. ABOUT JOSIE & ANDREA Josie Cowley is a holistic counsellor with a Diploma of Counselling from AIPC, accredited with the Australian Counselling Association and certified in Crisis Support with Lifeline. She blends evidence-informed counselling with Root Cause Therapy, the Emotion Code, EFT, Reiki, and trauma-informed coaching. Before entering the counselling space, Josie spent 29 years as a hairdresser — an experience she credits as foundational, where the salon chair became a natural safe space for people to be heard. She lives in Ocean Grove with her husband, two sons, and five small horses. Andrea Crabtree is a therapist, social worker, and former lawyer whose consistent thread across every career has been people. Certified in Embodied Processing, Trauma-Informed Manifestation, and Root Cause Therapy, and a Reiki Master with several years of experience in energy healing with animals. Andrea works primarily outdoors facilitating equine-assisted therapy, where her herd of five horses participate entirely at liberty. Having lived in both Honduras and Japan, she brings a rich cross-cultural perspective to her work. Together, Josie and Andrea created Why Do I Feel This Way? — Exploring Your Inner World, a 16-video psychoeducation series available through The Centre for Healing. Healing through the Felt Sense with Node Smith, ND.
Dr. Node Smith, ND is a Canadian naturopathic doctor, author of Witness & The Four Behaviors, and founder of TEAL Holistic. His work sits at the intersection of nervous system regulation, somatic awareness, and conscious development—where health, psychology, and spirituality meet the realities of everyday life. Node primarily works with thoughtful, self-aware individuals who have already invested deeply in therapy, personal growth, mindfulness, or spiritual practice, yet still find themselves feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or dysregulated under stress. Rather than offering more techniques, productivity hacks, or mindset reframes, his work invites a deeper shift: moving away from fixing or managing symptoms toward developing real nervous system capacity through embodied presence. Grounded in both clinical practice and lived experience, Node views kindness and honesty not as abstract ideals, but as practical biological forces for healing. His perspective reframes anxiety, burnout, and chronic stress—not as problems to eliminate—but as meaningful signals pointing toward deeper integration, emotional maturity, and a more authentic relationship with the body. In conversation, Node offers a calm and nuanced approach to topics such as emotional intelligence, nervous system safety, spirituality and psychology, and what it truly takes for insight to translate into lasting change. His work is less about self-improvement and more about learning how to live skillfully—especially when life is uncertain, uncomfortable, or demanding. Emotional Mirroring Between Humans and Their Pets with Fabienne Wydler
Show Notes: Healing with Pets and Humans Guest: Fabienne Wydler In this heartfelt conversation, we explore the powerful and often overlooked relationship between humans and their animal companions—and how healing can unfold on both sides of the leash. Key Takeaways: Our pets often mirror unresolved emotions, unexpressed needs, and weakened boundaries in their human companions, gently holding space for what wants to be seen and healed. Deepening your connection and attunement with your pet can offer profound insights into your own emotional world, supporting personal growth and transformation. Animals provide a non-judgemental, emotionally safe presence—particularly supportive for neurodivergent children who may find it easier to express themselves with animals than with people. Behavioural challenges in pets (such as anxiety, aggression, or destructiveness) often point to deeper emotional or relational dynamics within the human–animal bond. Healing the root cause can create lasting change for both. They share practical tools for relating to these parts with curiosity and compassion, as well as embodied techniques for deeper self-exploration. Key Topics Covered 1. Understanding Parts What are "parts" and how do they form? How parts develop as coping mechanisms during childhood experiences and challenging environments. Understanding internal conflicts and self-sabotaging behaviours that arise when parts are in opposition. 2. Relating to Parts Adopting a compassionate and curious approach to your parts. Welcoming all parts of yourself—even those you may dislike or want to suppress. Recognising that parts are aspects of yourself, not separate entities. 3. Embodied Inquiry Exploring parts through embodied inquiry, a somatic, felt-sense method. Sample inquiry questions: When did this part first emerge? How has it served or sabotaged you? What does it believe about you or the world? What does it need, and what would happen if it weren’t present? We discuss how to understand trauma, create a safe and attuned environment for your children, recognize and address projected trauma, and implement a practical trauma-informed parenting blueprint to support both you and your child’s emotional growth. Key Takeaways Trauma isn’t only about external events—it’s also about the internal impact on the individual. A Holistic Approach to Chronic Illness with Rosalie Mason
SHOWNOTES Chronic illness is what set Rosalie on her path to study Embodied processing and Somatic therapy as she spent over 10 years searching for answers and ways to find relief, so as a therapist she has a deep passion for holistic healing and the transformational journey toward wholeness. “I’m endlessly fascinated by the complexities of life , how our experiences shape us, how our bodies remember, and how healing becomes possible when we honour all parts of ourselves. Rooted in a trauma-sensitive approach, my work is deeply informed by an understanding of the nervous system. I’ve seen firsthand how automatic responses and dysregulation can influence our behaviours, trigger patterns, and even contribute to chronic illness. This insight became super personal as I navigated my own difficult path through MCAS and histamine intolerance . Debilitating conditions that challenged me, but ultimately led me home to myself. Through my own healing journey, I’ve gained profound insight into the mind-body connection, and now, it’s my mission to support others in finding that same freedom. I help people reconnect with their inner wisdom, regulate their nervous systems, and cultivate a sense of peace, acceptance, and safely within. I believe healing is not just about symptom relief, it’s about transformation, abundance, and coming back to wholeness. Health, Wellness & Parenting in a Neurodiverse World with Deb Mackay
Show Notes Title: Deb Mackay and Melissa Hiemann discuss the various aspects of health, wellness, and parenting, particularly in relation to neurodiversity. SummaryDeb's journey to healing and supporting others Deb shares how her experience with her three children diagnosed on the autism spectrum led her to explore alternative healing modalities beyond traditional therapies. She discovered the importance of addressing the nervous system and taking a whole-body approach to wellness. This journey ultimately transformed Deb's own life and inspired her to help others, particularly women and parents, through her work in root cause therapy, somatic processing, and nutrition. The limitations of diagnostic labels and the need for holistic care Deb discusses her concerns about the overuse of diagnostic labels, particularly for neurodevelopmental conditions like autism. She believes that many children are misunderstood and mislabeled due to a lack of understanding about the role of the nervous system, environment, trauma, and other underlying factors. Deb advocates for a more comprehensive, integrative approach that looks at the whole person rather than just treating symptoms. Incorporating scent, spirituality, and somatic practices Deb explains how she integrates the use of scent, her Christian faith, and somatic practices in her work. She discusses the powerful way that scent can bypass the conscious mind and access the subconscious, helping to create "glimmers" of safety and comfort. Deb also shares how her spiritual beliefs have deepened through her healing journey and how she helps Christian women address limiting beliefs through practices like breath work, prayer, and tapping. Generational healing and breaking cycles Deb emphasises the importance of doing inner work to break generational patterns and cycles, both for herself and for the children and families she supports. She shares how her own healing journey has allowed her to respond to her children and parenting situations with more compassion, presence, and flexibility, modelling the change she wants to see. Upcoming programs and resources Deb provides an overview of the various programs and resources available through her Soul Roots Therapy practice, including self-paced and live courses, as well as specialised offerings for Christian women and parents of neurodiverse children. She encourages listeners to explore the options that best suit their needs. Recap and closing thoughts Deb and Melissa conclude the conversation by emphasizing the importance of allowing the healing process to unfold naturally, without forcing it. Deb encourages listeners to focus on building the foundational skills and capacity to sit with themselves, as the rewards and transformations that follow can be profound and lasting. Bio Deb Mackay is the founder of Soulroots Therapy, where she helps women worldwide reconnect with themselves and heal on every level body, mind, and spirit grounded in her Christian faith. Integrating Suppressed Anger with Ryan and Matt
🎙 TCFH Podcast — Episode 27 Topic: Integrating Suppressed Anger with Ryan & Matt In this episode, Ryan and Matt unpack the truth about anger: why it’s a vital emotional signal, how society’s fear of it keeps us stuck, and what happens when it’s buried for too long. You’ll learn how anger often hides beneath sadness, fear, or shutdown — and how to safely explore and integrate it so it becomes a source of personal power, healthy boundaries, and authenticity. Whether you’re a practitioner or on your own healing journey, this conversation will shift the way you relate to anger — and yourself. Show Notes: What Anger Really Is (and Why We Need It) Anger is a vital emotional feedback mechanism, signalling when boundaries have been crossed. It’s a sympathetic nervous system response that mobilises energy and action. When repressed, anger can manifest as depression, anxiety, or physical health issues. Why Society Gets Anger Wrong Many people associate anger only with destructive, harmful behaviour — creating fear and shame around expressing it. Early childhood experiences often taught us that anger was unacceptable, leading to suppression or avoidance. This suppression can build up until it “explodes,” reinforcing the belief that anger is dangerous. How Anger Gets Entangled with Other Emotions Anger often couples with fear, sadness, hurt, or shutdown responses. Untangling these emotional dynamics allows us to work with anger directly. Practitioners must first explore and integrate their own relationship with anger to hold safe space for clients. Practical Tools for Regulating and Integrating Anger Titration — gently approaching the sensation without overwhelm. Movement & resistance — releasing energy through the body. Writing & inquiry — reflecting on the story and meaning behind the anger. The aim: stay present and conscious with the experience, rather than suppressing or acting it out. When integrated, anger becomes a source of personal power, clear boundaries, and authentic “yes” and “no” responses. About the Embodied Processing Practitioner Training A comprehensive training program designed to teach the Embodied Processing modality while deepening your own personal work. Includes self-paced learning modules, a supportive community, and regular live calls. Currently available at a special sale price. Key Takeaways: Anger is not the enemy — it’s a natural, healthy emotion when expressed and integrated well. Suppression leads to emotional and physical strain, while integration leads to empowerment. Working with anger requires presence, compassion, and self-awareness. Embodied Processing offers the tools and support to help both practitioners and clients integrate suppressed anger for greater authenticity and wellbeing.

Exploring Shame with Ben Tannahill & Ryan Hassan
Exploring Shame Workshop: Future of Healing — Day 1 Facilitators: Ryan Hassan & Ben Tannehill Ryan and Ben open the Future of Healing 3-day workshop by diving into one of the most misunderstood and deeply rooted emotional experiences: shame. What is Shame? Shame is a protective mechanism that inhibits authentic self-expression in order to maintain a sense of safety and belonging. It can attach itself to emotions, behaviours, desires—essentially, any part of ourselves. It often underlies emotional struggles such as addiction, anxiety, and depression. Why Addressing Shame Matters Shame is a foundational imprint beneath many mental health and life challenges. It drives patterns of isolation to avoid being seen, judged, or rejected. True healing requires meeting shame with awareness, presence, and compassion. Healthy vs. Toxic Shame Healthy shame helps regulate behaviour in a way that maintains social connection. Toxic shame becomes internalised, creating beliefs like “I am wrong” or “There’s something wrong with me.” This can lead to patterns of self-disgust, self-hatred, and a fixed identity of being broken or deficient. The Physiology of Shame Shame expresses itself through physical postures—shrinking, closing in, avoiding eye contact. Exploring these physical sensations and postures in a safe, embodied way can be profoundly healing. Inquiring Into Shame Engage in mindful inquiry to uncover shame-based beliefs and internal narratives. Recognise shame as just one part of the self—not your entire identity. Explore what this part of you is trying to express and what it truly needs. Working with Shame in Embodied Processing Begin by establishing a resourced, safe internal space to return to during the process. Invite the experience of shame into conscious awareness with compassion and curiosity. Trace the origin of the shame imprint—when and how it formed. Use embodied, somatic techniques to process and integrate the experience, allowing transformation. Key Takeaways Shame is a core emotional wound that must be addressed for genuine healing to occur. Compassionate, curious inquiry can shift how we relate to shame. Embodied Processing provides an effective pathway for transforming toxic shame into wholeness and self-acceptance. Stay tuned for Day 2 of the Future of Healing workshop in the next episode.

Integration Experience with Melissa (Day 2)
Overview: This is the second day of an "integration experience" event, focused on what happens after the initial healing breakthroughs. The discussion covers the importance of integration and supporting the process after transformative healing work. Different modalities are represented, including Root Cause Therapy, InBody Processing, and trauma-informed manifestation coaching. The key themes are creating safety, processing emotions/trauma, integrating fragmented parts of the self, and transitioning into a more empowered, creative state. Key Topics: Fragmented Parts of the Self: Discusses how certain emotions/behaviors get suppressed or disconnected from the self due to lack of safety in childhood. These "orphan parts" need to be integrated back into wholeness through the healing process. Emphasizes the importance of approaching these parts with curiosity and compassion, not judgment. The Healing Process: Outlines the stages of the healing work - establishing safety and capacity, processing the root causes, and integrating the fragmented parts. Highlights the importance of the "post-processing" or integration phase, where emotions, realizations and physical effects continue to unfold. Encourages nourishing practices and self-care during this integration period. Inner Child/Subpersonality Work: Discusses the value of reconnecting with and re-parenting our inner child/subpersonality parts. Emphasizes the need to provide the care, understanding and support that may have been lacking originally. This helps emotionally mature and integrate these disowned aspects of self. Manifestation and Empowerment: Explains how the healing work changes the internal world, while manifestation work changes the external world. Encourages participants to become "creators" of their lives, not just perpetual "healers." Highlights the importance of having a clear intention and addressing any limiting beliefs or trauma blocks. Ongoing Integration and Self-Care: Provides examples of helpful practices during integration, such as movement, nature, creativity, rest, etc. Emphasizes the need for flexibility and self-compassion, as the integration process is not linear. Encourages participants to find what is most nourishing for them personally. Overall, the discussion emphasizes the vital importance of the integration phase after transformative healing work. It provides a holistic, trauma-informed perspective on supporting this process through various modalities and self-care practices.

Integration Experience with Ryan and Matt (Day 1)
Overview: This was the first day of an Integration Workshop hosted by Ryan Hassan and Matt Kay. Ryan and Matt introduced themselves and their background in healing work, particularly their modality called Embodied Processing. The main focus of the discussion was on the process of integration - what it is, why it's important, and how to approach it. Key Topics: The Creation of Orphaned Parts: Experiences that we cannot properly process or digest can lead to the creation of "orphaned parts" - disowned or fragmented aspects of ourselves. This happens when we go into heightened emotional/nervous system states that we don't have the resources to fully process at the time, especially in childhood. These unprocessed experiences then lead to beliefs, narratives and protective behaviors that become split off from our whole sense of self. The Integration Process: Integration is the process of welcoming these orphaned parts back into the whole, restoring a sense of wholeness and self-acceptance. It involves tracing back to find the root causes or originating events where these parts were created, and then working to safely reintegrate them. The process is highly individual and can take varying amounts of time for different parts to fully integrate. Traps and Obstacles to Integration: The main trap is wanting the integration process to be "done" before it is ready, rushing through it. This can lead to re-traumatization and a lack of true integration. Patience, self-compassion, and creating the right conditions for integration to unfold naturally are key. Facilitating the Integration Process: Practices like journaling, spending time in nature, engaging creativity, and having supportive relationships can aid the integration process. Building capacity and resilience to be able to be with difficult emotions and experiences is also important. The orientation of turning towards parts with compassion, rather than rejecting or trying to fix them, is essential. Measuring Integration: There are stages of integration, from unconscious incompetence to unconscious competence, that indicate the degree of integration. Full integration is not a fixed endpoint, but an ongoing process of refining and deepening one's relationship to different aspects of self. Overall, the discussion emphasized the importance of patience, self-compassion, and an attitude of allowing the integration process to unfold at its own pace, rather than trying to force or rush it. The facilitators provided valuable insights and guidance on navigating this journey.

Supporting Addicted Loved Ones with Counsellor Rainbow
Summary: In this powerful episode, Rainbow Glitter Shiva opens up about her deeply personal journey through addiction—both her own and that of her husband, who faced significant mental health and substance use challenges. She candidly discusses the emotional toll on families and the urgent need for more integrated and compassionate support systems. Rainbow highlights the disconnection between the mental health and addiction fields, stressing how the failure to recognise their interconnected nature often leads to ineffective treatment. Drawing from her lived experience, she created the "Families Unite" program, which supports families impacted by addiction through education around communication, enabling, co-dependency, and the critical need for personal change within the family unit. The conversation underscores the importance of addressing trauma, emotional wounds, and generational patterns—not just the addiction itself—for lasting healing. Ryan and Rainbow explore the barriers that prevent families from seeking support, including stigma, lack of access, and emotional illiteracy. Rainbow also shares the symbolic transformation behind her name change, representing a rebirth after profound personal loss and growth. Key Insights: Addiction and mental health issues are often treated in isolation—yet are deeply connected. Family dynamics, especially enabling and co-dependency, play a vital role in the cycle of addiction. There's a lack of accessible, trauma-informed, and family-focused support services. Emotional education, starting from a young age, can help break generational patterns. Healing is possible through community, compassion, and empowerment. Notable Quotes: "There must be a middle ground. Yet he was a bit far gone and he wasn't quite seeing the middle ground, and that dissolved in a big blaze of glory." "I learned how to read people, how to communicate with them properly. How to run groups. I love running groups." "It's more the mums, but they get a lot of guilt. And they get a lot of shame. And it's like, what did I do wrong? And they can blame themselves as well." "Addiction starts with pain and ends with pain – that's an Eckhart Tolle quote, by the way." "Blame is a mechanism that will keep us stuck in whatever we're in." Connect with Rainbow Glitter Shiva: 🌐 Website: https://walkandtalkwithrainbow.com.au 📘 Facebook: Rainbow Glitter Shiva on Facebook
