    You Are That Man!

In today’s episode of The Dad Shift, I dive into the powerful story of David and Nathan from 2 Samuel. David’s actions led to devastating consequences, but it took Nathan’s boldness to help him see the truth. We often overlook our own mistakes while pointing fingers at others. It’s easy to judge, but we need to practice humility and introspection. Remember, we all need a Nathan in our lives—someone who can call us out when we're blind to our own sins. Let’s strive to be better and hold each other accountable. The journey of repentance starts with recognizing our faults and seeking guidance.

    The Dad Shift: Missions Edition

Dear Friends and Family,This summer I’ve been given an opportunity that I truly believe is from God. From July 18–25, I will be part of a small team traveling to Alaska to serve with Blast & Cast Men’s Ministries, helping construct The Rock Lodge on Prince of Wales Island. This lodge will serve as a permanent base for ministry events creating a place where believers and non-believers can step away from the noise of life, build relationships, and encounter Jesus Christ.Blast & Cast is an inter-denominational Christian outreach ministry that reaches men and families in the unique setting of outdoor interest. Their heart is to meet people where they are through outdoor experiences like fishing, hunting and soon to be wilderness retreats and use those moments to build authentic relationships and “point outdoorsmen to the cross.” Many of the people they reach might never walk into a traditional church, yet they are open to the Gospel when it’s shared in a setting they know and love. This lodge will allow that work to continue for years to come. The scenery may be breathtaking, but the work will be challenging. We’ll be in the back country on an island in Alaska, doing hands-on construction in a demanding environment. It will be physically hard, but spiritually meaningful.Over the past year, I have felt God calling me to step out of my comfort zone and serve others in new ways. This trip feels like a direct answer to prayer, giving me a chance to combine my love for the outdoors with my desire to share Christ’s love. I am excited and expectant to see how God will use this experience to grow my faith and impact others.I’m writing to invite you to partner with me in two important ways:Prayer Support – Please pray for our team’s safety, unity, health, and spiritual impact. Pray that God prepares hearts long before anyone ever steps foot in this lodge. Your prayers and support will not only help me get to Alaska but will also make it possible for many others to hear about Jesus in a place they might never expect.Financial Support – Each team member is responsible for covering the cost of travel and participation. My total cost for travel and participation is approximately $1600. If you would like to contribute, please consider donating to this GoFundMe campaign. Additionally, as many of you are aware, I also craft CNC and laser goods that from now until the trip will help fund this. If you are interested in cutting boards, tumblers, or any other craft please consider using Big Plans Ranch Creations. I will share a QR code as well as a link to that facebook page that has some of the many examples of what I can make. I would love to create something for you. I am also truly grateful for any amount donated towards the mission.Any donations that exceed the goal will be donated to Blast & Cast Ministries or to help others that will be traveling with me on this mission trip.More than anything, I ask that you walk with me in prayer as I step into what I believe God has placed before me. Thank you for being part of my life and for considering how you might be part of this mission as well.Yours in Christ,Tanner CarrollGOFUNDME PAGE:https://gofund.me/15d2cab4aHere are links to the ministry we will be assisting, Blast & Cast ministries.https://www.blastandcast.org/This is the link to Big Plans Ranch Creations Facebook, the page for the custom creations that I make.
