Episode 37 — Before the Rooster Crows | John 13:31-38
Still the same room. Still the same night. Still the same table. But in John 13:31-38 everything gets really personal.Jesus calls the cross a moment of glory. He gives His disciples one commandment — love each other the way I have loved you. And then He looks at Peter — the most confident person in that room — and tells him exactly what is about to happen before it does. Before the rooster crows you will deny me three times. And Peter meant every word of his promise. He genuinely believed he would die for Jesus. He just did not know himself as well as he thought he did yet.And honestly? Most of us can relate to that more than we want to admit. This episode is for the one who has ever been confident they would never do something — and then did. The one who is tired and stretched thin and wondering if their failures are too big to come back from. The one who just needs to hear that Jesus already knew and loved you anyway. You are not too far gone. You are just human. And He is really really good at working with human. 🤎I am not a pastor or a theologian. Episode 36 — He Knew - And Loved Him Anyway | John 13:18-30
Same table. Same night. Same room as last week. But in John 13:18-30 everything shifts.Jesus names the betrayal before it happens. He feels the weight of what is coming. He offers kindness to the very person who is about to hand Him over. And then He watches Judas get up and walk out into the night. In this episode we are talking about why Jesus told His disciples about the betrayal ahead of time, what it means that He was troubled in His spirit, the slow drift that leads someone away from the light, and what it looks like to just stay at the table when everything in you wants to slip out the door. This one is for the exhausted. The drifting. The newer believer still figuring out what faith looks like for their real everyday life. You do not have to have it all together to be here. You just have to stay. 🤎I am not a pastor or a theologian. Just a girl with her Bible open figuring it out right alongside you.📌 Next episode — John 13:31-38📌 Reflection questions updated weekly on Instagram @theevenifproject

Episode 35: When Jesus Got Lower Than Everyone Else — John 13:1–17
In John 13:1–17, the tone of the Gospel shifts completely. The crowds are gone, the cross is near, and Jesus gathers privately with His disciples on the night before His arrest. Then He does something no one expected. He kneels down and begins washing their feet.In this episode, we walk through one of the most personal and powerful moments in the Gospel of John and talk about what it reveals about Jesus, humility, grace, leadership, and what it means to let Him do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. This isn’t just a lesson about serving. It’s a picture of love that gets low.Instagram: @theevenifproject 🤎📖 Next episode: John 13:18–30Reflection Questions RecapHow do you usually respond when you know someone has hurt you, disappointed you, or isn’t who you hoped they were?Where in your life do you resist receiving from Jesus because you’d rather stay in control, understand it first, or handle it yourself?Where in your life do you want to be seen, appreciated, or validated… and how might that be shaping the way you love others?

Episode 34: Why Some Still Didn’t Believe — John 12:37–50
Even after witnessing miracles, many people still chose not to believe in Jesus. In John 12:37–50, the Gospel pauses to reflect on the different ways people respond to truth. Some resisted. Some believed quietly but were afraid to admit it. And Jesus explains that His mission was not to condemn the world, but to bring light and salvation. In this episode, we explore why belief is often less about evidence and more about the willingness of the heart — and what it means to walk toward the light Jesus offers.Next episode: John 13:1–17Instagram @theevenifprojectReflection Questions RecapIs there something in your life that you sense is true… but you keep pushing it aside because responding would require change?Where in your life do you feel pressure to keep your faith small or quiet so it doesn’t disrupt anything? When you think about Jesus as someone who came to rescue rather than condemn, how does that change the way you see God?

Episode 33: When Trust Feels Hard — John 12:27–36
In John 12:27–36 Jesus says something unexpected: “My soul is troubled.”Right after the crowds celebrate Him, He begins speaking about the cross. In this episode we walk through one of the most personal moments in the Gospel and talk about what it means that Jesus knowingly walked toward suffering — and what His invitation to “walk in the light” means for us today. We explore fear, surrender, unanswered expectations, and how faith often begins not with certainty, but with willingness.Next episode: John 12:37–50Reflection Questions RecapWhat emotions or thoughts are you editing out when you pray because you feel like you shouldn’t feel them?Is your struggle with faith really about lack of evidence… or about what following God might change in your life?Where in your life are you asking God to remove something when He may be inviting you to trust Him inside it?Where are you waiting for certainty before taking a step toward God you already sense? If you were sure Jesus was trustworthy, what would you do differently this week?

Episode 32: They Cheered but Didn’t Understand - John 12:9-26
In this episode, we continue through John 12 and step into the moment often called the Triumphal Entry. The crowds celebrate Jesus as king, but they misunderstand the kind of rescue He came to bring. We talk about why the growing crowds mattered, why Jesus says “the hour has come,” and what He means when He describes His mission like a seed that must fall into the ground before life can grow. This passage invites us to consider how expectations shape faith — and what it looks like to trust God when His plan doesn’t match ours.Reflection Questions RecapHave you ever had a moment where you sensed something might be true — but accepting it would have meant change?Have you ever found yourself hoping God would fix a specific situation… and feeling confused or disappointed when He didn’t do it the way you expected? Is there something in your life right now that doesn’t make sense yet — but you’re still trying to trust through anyway? When something feels uncertain or out of your control, what is your first instinct — trust, or protect?Where in your life are you trying to hold everything together yourself instead of trusting God with it?

Episode 31: When Love Looks Excessive - John 12:1-8
John 12 begins with a quiet moment before the final week of Jesus’ life. At a dinner in Bethany, Mary pours out expensive perfume onto Jesus — an act of love that some see as beautiful and others see as wasteful. In this episode, we walk through John 12:1–8 and explore devotion, misunderstanding, Judas’s response, and why Jesus defends her. This passage reminds us that faith doesn’t always look logical from the outside, and sometimes we don’t realize the meaning of a moment while we’re living inside it.Reflection Questions RecapWhere in your life have you moved past something meaningful without slowing down enough to notice it?Where do you find yourself holding back care, generosity, or obedience because it feels too costly or too visible?Have you ever felt misunderstood while trying to do something you sincerely believed was right?Where might you be waiting for perfect clarity before taking a step you already feel invited to take?

Episode 30: When a Miracle Divides - John 11:45-57

Religious leaders begin planning Jesus’ death, and the timeline toward the cross quietly begins. In this episode, we walk through John 11:45–57 and explore how miracles can challenge comfort, how fear can shape decisions, and what it means that Jesus knowingly continues toward sacrifice. This episode completes John 11 and sets the stage for the events that lead to the cross.Reflection Questions RecapWhat do you usually do when your comfort or control feels threatened?Where do you notice fear shaping your decisions more than trust?Have you ever justified something harmful because it felt necessary? What do you do when faith feels costly instead of comforting? What does it stir in you that Jesus chose the cross knowingly?

Episode 27: John 10:22-42 | Why Jesus Wouldn't Answer Them Plainly
In this episode, we walk through John 10:22–42 — a moment filled with pressure, fear, and hard questions, where Jesus is surrounded and asked to say plainly who He is.Instead of giving the answer they want, Jesus exposes something deeper about belief, control, and trust.Reflection Questions: Where might fear be making it harder for you to really listen right now?Where are you living like everything depends on you? When your understanding starts getting challenged, do you shut down, defend yourself, or stay open?Where have you already seen life or change, even if you don’t have everything figured out?Where might clarity be growing after you’ve stepped away from pressure or noise?

Episode 26: The Real Reason We’re So Anxious Right Now - Between the Verses
Why does it feel like our minds never get a break anymore?***This episode discusses how fear-based stories and constant alerts can heighten anxiety. It is not intended as a safety guide, but as a conversation about how worry affects our minds. In this Between the Verses episode, we talk about why worry and anxiety feel so constant in modern life. From nonstop social media and news cycles to information overload and comparison, we talk about how overstimulation keeps our nervous systems on edge.We discuss how the amygdala plays a role in anxiety, why worry often comes from love and a desire for safety, and why feeling anxious doesn’t mean your faith is weak. Episode 25: John 10:1-21 | Learning the Sound of His Voice
In John 10:1–21, Jesus describes Himself as the Good Shepherd — not one who pressures or abandons, but one who knows His people by name and lays down His life for them.In this episode, we read through this passage slowly and reflect on what it means to recognize the voice of Jesus amid the noise of everyday life. This conversation isn’t about getting faith “right,” but about learning familiarity, trust, and rest with a Shepherd who stays. If faith has ever felt loud, confusing, or exhausting, this passage offers a gentler way forward.☕ The Even If Project — honest faith, slow Scripture, real life.Reflection Questions: Where in your life are you putting pressure on yourself to “know everything,” instead of giving yourself permission to simply learn His voice over time?Where have you been living like everything depends on you, when Jesus is offering to stand between you and what you fear? Do the voices guiding you right now feel like protection… or pressure?.Where have you experienced people leaving when things got hard, and how has that shaped the way you expect Jesus to show up? Where do you struggle to believe that you are already known and already included, not because of what you’ve done, but because of who Jesus is?When Jesus challenges what you’ve always believed, do you tend to shut down, get defensive, or stay curious?

In this episode, we walk through John 8:12–30 and talk about why Jesus’ words often feel uncomfortable — not because they’re confusing, but because they challenge control.Below are the reflection questions from this study. There’s no pressure to answer all of them. Sit with the ones that stand out, and share whatever feels honest.1 • What are the areas of your life that feel “fine” until they’re fully seen?2 • When faith starts to feel like it might actually interfere with how you live your life, what do you usually do — lean in, stall, or quietly change the subject?3 • Have you ever felt like you knew the language of faith, but didn’t really feel connected to God Himself?4 • When faith conversations start to feel heavy or uncomfortable, how do you usually respond — lean in, shut down, joke it off, or avoid it altogether?5 • Am I actually still learning… or am I avoiding clarity because I know it might ask something of me?6 • What does it say to you that some people believed before they fully understood everything?Take your time with these. Grab your coffee, open your Bible, and let’s grow together — even if. 🤎
