The Anxiety Lie - It's Not Your Brain, It's Your Bloodline - with Kerie Logan

Kerie Logan is a human consciousness guide and hypnotherapist who has spent 25 years helping people untangle all the messy parts of being human. We dive into something so many of us carry: that heavy, constant hum of anxiety. But Kerie looks at it through such a beautiful, different lens. She explains how the stuff we’re struggling with...whether it's fear, hyper-vigilance, or just feeling totally stuck...isn't actually who we are. It’s often just a "set point" or generational energy we've absorbed like a sponge.Kerie shares some incredible stories about shifting perspective from the "victim mindset" into the "soul experience." We talk about how our hardest relationships are actually our greatest teachers, how to stop gaslighting ourselves with toxic positivity, and why midlife is the perfect time to stop being "selfless" and start reclaiming our own power.Kerie is such a gift, and she even offers a free 15-minute consultation to help you figure out if you're ready to dismantle the walls you've built around your heart. We riff on:Why your anxiety might actually be generational trauma waiting to be releasedHow to stop reacting to chaos and start responding from a grounded placeThe secret language of your body and how our emotions impact our physical healthWhy it is never, ever too late to learn what unconditional love really feels likeGiving yourself grace as your body and life transition into this next beautiful chapterKerie’s energy is so soothing, and her message is clear: you aren't broken, you're just evolving. Don’t Die With Your Dreams Inside You: The "Live Full, Die Empty" Framework - with Sairan Aqwari

Sairan Aqwari has the most incredible perspective on why we need to stop looking at midlife as some sort of waiting room for retirement.Sairan moved from Iraq to the United States and literally rebuilt her entire life and career from the ground up. She spent over 30 years as a heavy-hitter in the engineering world, and then, right in the middle of her doctoral program, she realized her soul was pulling her toward something else. She actually put her PhD "in the freezer" to follow a path of coaching and mentoring other women.I love how she talks about "hidden gems"...those talents we all have tucked away that we think are only for our 9-to-5 jobs, but are actually the keys to our next big chapter. We dive deep into the reality of changing careers in your 50s, why "male-dominated" is just a phrase we should stop giving power to, and how to stay sharp and innovative by refusing to stop dreaming. She is living proof that your 50s are your prime. If you’ve been feeling a little overlooked lately or like you’re just going through the motions, Sairan is the gentle (but firm!) kick in the pants we all need to start taking action today. Here is what we get into:The bravery it takes to walk away from a "dream" to find your true callingHow to negotiate your worth when you have decades of experienceWhy aging is actually a privilege that grants us mastery over life's obstaclesThe beauty of living life "full" and "dying empty"Practical ways to leverage your degree for a side business or a total pivotSairan even offered a little gift for our listeners at the end, so you definitely want to catch the whole thing. Connect with Sairan: Website: https://www.sairanaqrawi.com/Social Media: LinkedIn,  InstagramThank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! Why You’re Failing at Leadership (And the 1 Shift That Fixes It) - with Helen Wada

Helen spent nearly thirty years in the high-stakes world of commercial leadership and accounting, even spending sixteen years at KPMG. She was the person who actually avoided sales at all costs, only to realize she was naturally incredible at it because she did it differently. She did it humanly. When she hit 45, life decided to shift the gears for her. Between the clarity of a family road trip and a sudden battle with early-stage breast cancer, Helen took the leap to stop doing things the "corporate way" and start the Human Advantage. She’s now helping people realize that being a successful leader doesn’t mean leaving your humanity at the door. It actually means leaning into curiosity, presence, and real-talk conversations to drive growth. We chatted about some really deep stuff:The 18 months of "deep work" and decompression it took to find her footing after leaving the corporate grind. Why the "skills" we learned in kindergarten ... like listening to understand and being respectful ... are actually the most powerful tools in business today. How to bridge the gap in a world where everyone is hiding behind screens.Tapping into your own "why" so you aren't just hitting targets for someone else’s benefit.Helen is living proof that you can be successful and kind, commercial and human-centered, all at the same time. Connect with Helen: Linked in: https://www.linkedin.com/in/helen-wada/Website: www.thehumanadvantage.co.ukPodcast: Human Wise - Podcast - Apple PodcastsPre-Order Book:   https://mybook.to/HUMANWISE Thank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! What Changes When You Finally Listen? with Cheryl Holling

Cheryl Holling is a total powerhouse in the world of podcasting and voiceover work, but what really struck me during our chat was her incredible heart and the way she’s navigating life at 65 with so much grace and curiosity. We really dive into the beauty of the "un-linear" path. Cheryl’s been in the industry for four decades, yet she’s still out here launching new projects like The Voice Kitchen and 19 Stories from Fear to Hope. She opens up about the legacy of her parents, the deep importance of truly listening to one another, and why she’s finally owning her age as a superpower rather than something to hide. It is such a refreshing take on why our voices actually hold more weight and wisdom as we get older. We’re chatting about all the good stuff:How to define what thriving actually looks like for you (and why it’s okay if that definition changes)The magic that happens when we gather in the kitchen and share our real storiesMoving through seasons of fear and finding the hope that pulls us throughThe literal life-saving lesson of putting your own oxygen mask on firstWhy "learning" doesn't have a finish lineCheryl reminds us that we aren't just relevant...we are becoming more rooted and more powerful every single day. Connect with Cheryl and dive deeper into her world: https://www.cherylholling.com/ Thank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! Stop "Powering Through" | How Midlife Women Can Heal High-Functioning Anxiety - with Shelley Martinez

How many of us have spent years just "powering through" because we thought that was the only way to be successful. Shelley Martinez is a licensed psychotherapist and what she calls an "anxiety alchemist." She spent decades dealing with that invisible, high-functioning anxiety - the kind where you look totally composed and "together" on the outside while your internal world feels like it’s on fire. We really dive into why we've normalized being stuck in survival mode and how to actually patch the holes in the boat instead of just bailing out water every day.She shared her three step framework for moving from constant stress to genuine calm, and the best part is that she treats anxiety as a source of wisdom rather than a life sentence. It’s such a relief to hear someone say that we aren't broken, we just have a nervous system that needs a little rewiring. We talked about:Identifying the sneaky signs of high functioning anxiety like perfectionism and overworkingWhy "coping" might actually be keeping you stuck in survival modeThe power of curiosity and compassion in changing your internal narrativeHow to reclaim your energy so you can live a "juicy life" after 45If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing the best you can but still feel weighted down by old "rocks in your wagon," this episode is going to feel like a warm hug and a permission slip all at once. Stop Hating Your Body. It's Not Broken, Your Strategy Is - with Heike Yates

Heike Yates has been working with women and their bodies for forty years. She’s seen every trend come and go, but her approach is so much deeper than just fitness. We talked about how midlife isn't this scary "crisis" we’ve been told to fear. Instead, it’s actually this incredible course correction. It’s that moment where we finally get to stop dimming our light and start asking ourselves what we actually need to feel good. She was so vulnerable about her own journey too. Heike shared what it was like to go from being a competitive bodybuilder and Ironman triathlete to having to give up running because of her health. We really leaned into the messy, human side of that transition - the grieving process of losing an identity and the choice to find a new way to move that honors the body you have today. We also touched on something I know so many of us feel: that heavy "stuckness" even when we think we’re doing everything right. Heike explains why we need to stop chasing arbitrary goals or five-pound weight loss targets and start focusing on quality of life and intuition. It’s such a permission slip to just sit still, be real with ourselves, and maybe even pick up a colouring book if that’s what helps our minds finally go quiet.I left this talk feeling so much lighter, and I know you will too. It’s a gentle reminder that you aren't behind, you aren't broken, and your best moves are the ones you choose for yourself.Connect with Heike hereWebsite: https://heikeyates.com/  Book:   Pursue Your Spark: https://amzn.to/4mD5xL7Thank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! Money Doesn’t Have to Be Scary: The 5-Minute Habit to End Financial Anxiety - with Suzette Wheeler

Have you ever felt that little knot in your stomach when it comes to money - maybe you avoid the bank app or just feel like "numbers aren't your thing"? Suzette Wheeler is basically the finance whisperer we all needed years ago. She has over 30 years of experience, but she talks about money in a way that actually makes sense for our real lives. We get into the heavy stuff that midlife can throw at us, like navigating finances after a divorce or losing a spouse, but we also talk about the simple, everyday wins. Suzette shares these brilliant "math hacks" that help you save money at the grocery store and clear the fog around credit cards without feeling like you're back in a stressful 10th grade algebra class. The biggest takeaway for me was that financial literacy isn't about being a math genius; it's about freedom and peace of mind. It's about making sure we aren't "left out in the cold" and instead feel grounded and confident in the lives we’re building. Suzette is so encouraging and reminds us that it’s never too late to start asking questions and taking the lead on our own checkbooks. We dive into:Why so many of us feel stuck or intimidated by moneyPractical hacks to keep more of your hard earned cashNavigating big life shifts like widowhood or divorceThe simple "50/30/20" rule for a stress free budgetHow to start teaching the next generation so they feel empowered tooI walked away from this one feeling so much lighter, and I know you will too. Heidi Solomon-Orlick spent decades as a top performer in a high-stakes, male-dominated world, only to face a massive life shift at 60. After losing both of her parents within days of each other, she didn't just sit back. She paused, looked in the mirror, and decided the back half of her life was going to be about legacy and lifting others up.Heidi is the founder of Girls Who Sell, and she is on a mission to show young women that sales isn't about the "used car" stereotypes we see in movies. It’s actually a superpower rooted in listening, relationship building, and solving problems. We dig into why women often feel like they need to meet 100% of a job description before applying and how we can start owning our innate skills to build the lives we want.Heidi shares about being "aged out" of corporate life at 65, only to find her voice as an award-winning children's book author. She’s living proof that there is no finish line and that your true success happens when you stop living for everyone else’s expectations and start following your own heart. We talk about:Shifting from external success to internal fulfillment in your 60sTurning a side hustle into a full-time mission after being laid offThe power of storytelling and why it’s never too late to fulfill a lifelong dreamHow introversion can actually be your greatest asset in businessRedefining legacy as the ripple effect of the lives you touchIf you’ve been feeling like you’re being pushed to the sidelines or wondering if your best work is behind you, please give this a listen. What Pressure Reveals: Leadership Lessons from an Avalanche Rescuer - with Caroline Elliott

Caroline Elliott spent over twenty years in ski rescue and mountain rescue units, literally working on the front lines of avalanche response with her dog, Fjord. Imagine being in a situation where the stakes are life or death and every second counts. That is where she learned what it truly means to lead and communicate when the pressure is on.We did a deep dive into how those high stakes moments in the mountains actually reveal who we are. Caroline shares how she is now taking all that intense lived experience and using it to help business teams find their footing when things get unstable. We talked about the importance of psychological safety, the power of a "gut brain," and why kindness and respect are non-negotiable, even when you are facing a literal or metaphorical storm. One of my favorite parts of our chat was hearing about her bond with her dogs. She has such a beautiful way of looking at partnership and trust that we can all learn from. Whether you are leading a team at work or just trying to navigate a stressful season in your own life, Caroline has so much wisdom to share about stepping back when you see a red flag and trusting your own internal intelligence. You can find more about Caroline and follow our journey here:Website: www.carolineelliott.meSocial Media:  https://www.instagram.com/carolineelliott.me/https://www.linkedin.com/in/caroline-elliott-aabb8117/Thank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! Why Aging Is Not Something to Fix - with Alina Wilson

Alina has spent nearly two decades in the wellness and aesthetics world, but she isn't interested in the "anti-aging" noise we’ve been fed forever. She’s actually pioneering this beautiful concept called "thoughtful aging." It’s all about moving away from making choices because we feel "not enough" and instead choosing things because we actually want them. She’s a grandmother, a CEO, and a total powerhouse who believes that our 60s are actually meant to be our happiest years. We really got into the thick of it - the reality of feeling invisible in society sometimes, the "ageism" we face at work or even in our personal lives, and how to navigate all of that without losing our spark. Alina shared her five principles for reclaiming your identity, and my favorite part was her take on curiosity. It’s such a gentle way to look at why we feel certain ways about our bodies or our worth without the heavy weight of judgment. She even gave some super practical advice on how to talk to doctors so they actually partner with us instead of just brushing us off with a "well, you’re just getting older" comment. It’s such an empowering shift from being a victim of a system to being the boss of your own journey. We talked about:Moving from "fixing" ourselves to honoring who we are becomingThe 10% rule for self-care that actually sticksWhy beauty is actually a "calling" back to your true selfHow to trust that gut intuition we’ve been told to ignore for too longBuilding a "longevity team" that actually supports your goalsIf you’ve ever looked in the mirror and felt a little disconnected, or if you’re tired of the "anti-aging" battle, this episode is a giant permission slip to just be. Why You're Stuck in a Life You Hate (and How to Open the Door ) - with Andy Semotiuk

Andy Semotiuk spent over forty years as an immigration attorney, but this isn't a dry talk about paperwork and legalities. Andy is a true expert in the art of transition and opening doors that people didn't even realize were there for them.In this episode of Thrive After 45™, we dive into the deeper, human side of starting over. Andy shares some incredible perspectives on why we choose to move, whether we are being pushed by a "hurricane" in our lives or pulled by a dream of something better. He even uses a simple tape measure as a visual to remind us that our time is precious and we should spend it in the place that allows us to be our best selves. We talk about the big philosophical questions like "Who am I?" and how the answer to that actually reveals why we are here. Andy gets really personal about his own journey from being a public speaker to discovering a passion for writing, and he shares seven beautiful rules for a successful life that I think we all need to hear. You’ll hear us chat about:The "tape measure" trick to putting your life and goals into perspectiveWhy moving for opportunity is a powerful way to reclaim your humanityFinding your unique ability and the passion that drives itPractical ways to navigate the big hurdles of working across bordersHow to listen to the whispers of your history to find your authentic selfThis talk is so grounding and hopeful. The Secret to Solving Your Midlife Identity Crisis - with Dr. Salma Samaha

Dr. Samaha is one of those people who just radiates light. She’s a former academic who decided to retire early at 53 to follow a mission that was pulling at her heart. She’s navigated over 30 years of transitions, some by choice and many by chance, including relocating from Lebanon to Canada and moving through everything from divorce to empty nesting. She’s truly a "momentum master" who figured out how to stop just surviving change and start actually loving the life she was designing. We really got into the heart of what it means to grow stronger rather than just older. Salma shared her "Same Roots, New Fruits" philosophy, which is such a refreshing way to look at midlife. It’s not about starting from zero or having a crisis; it’s about using the deep roots you already have to grow something fresh and vibrant. One of my favorite parts of our talk was her "outdoor anchor" concept. It is so simple but so deep. She talked about how even just looking at the sky or catching a sunset can reset your entire nervous system and remind you that endings can be just as beautiful as beginnings. If you’ve been feeling like you’re just drifting or stuck in a bit of a midlife rut, you need to hear Salma’s energy. The #1 Lie Women Believe About Divorce - with Kimberly Lorah

After over 25 years with her partner, Kimberly’s world was completely upended by a divorce she never saw coming. She describes that season as "temporary insanity," and honestly...Who hasn't felt that way when life pulls the rug out from under you? But instead of letting that be the end of her story, she used that rock bottom as a launchpad.Kimberly took her 20 years of experience as a therapist and her own lived heartbreak to become a certified divorce coach. She founded Blossom Coaching because she realized there was a massive gap in support for women who feel untethered and lost in the middle of a life transition. We talk about the "red flags" we often paint green just to keep the peace, the struggle of losing your identity when a long-term marriage ends, and the incredible gift of finding your own voice again. She’s living proof that your life is not over just because a chapter ended. In fact, she’s happier now at 55 than she’s ever been, and she’s helping other women realize that they can be "better than okay" too. If you’ve been feeling lonely, stuck, or like you’re just "chugging along" in a life that doesn't feel true to you, Kimberly’s wisdom is the hug and the nudge you’ve been looking for.We dive into:Navigating the "temporary insanity" of major life changesWhy we ignore our intuition and how to start trusting it againRebuilding an identity that belongs entirely to youThe power of finding a community that actually gets itThis episode is such a reminder that even the hardest endings are just making space for a brand new, more authentic beginning.Connect with Kimberly:Website: https://kimberlylorahcoaching.com/Social Media: https://www.instagram.com/blossomcoachingllc/                                 https://www.facebook.com/kimberlylorahcoachingKimberly is the host of the YouTube series Discussions with a Divorce Coach: 5 Questions in 15 Minutes—a fast, focused, and insight-driven show featuring conversations with divorce professionals to help listeners better understand the many pieces of divorce - legal, financial, emotional, anThank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! How to Stop Shaming Yourself & Reclaim Your Power - with Emma Lyons

Emma Lyons and I are diving deep into something we all carry but rarely talk about: Shame.Emma spent 15 years in human rights law before burning out and realizing she had to dismantle her own trauma patterns from the ground up. Now, she’s an Inner Power Guide helping women like us stop the self-sabotage and actually heal our nervous systems. We talk about how those things we think are just "personality traits"—like being shy or afraid to speak up - are often just survival responses our bodies are holding onto from way back.We get into the "inner critic" (which Emma calls the inner narcissist) and how it keeps us under a kind of house arrest, preventing us from receiving the goodness we deserve. Emma shares her "BREAK" method to help us snap out of those shame spirals in real time so we can finally start living authentically and, as she puts it, shamelessly. It’s such an eye-opening look at how breaking these cycles doesn’t just change our own lives, but ripples out to everyone around us.You’ll hear us chat about:Why mindset work is only half the battle and how our bodies store fearReclaiming the word "shameless" as a badge of honor and authenticityHow shame acts as a tool for control and how to stop passing it onEmma’s simple, powerful steps to shake off inherited trauma for goodThis episode is a total permission slip to stop hiding and start taking up the space you were always meant to fill. I can't wait for you to hear it!Connect with Emma Lyons: https://traumamatrix.substack.com/https://www.linkedin.com/in/emma-lyons-traumamatrix/https://www.facebook.com/trauma.matrixhttps://www.youtube.com/@trauma.matrixhttps://www.tiktok.com/@trauma.matrixAccess your FREE gift here: 5 signs it's time to break up with your inner narcissisthttps://tinyurl.com/NotTodayNarcThank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! Why You're Stuck In A Cycle (And the One Step To Break It) with John James Santangelo

John James Santangelo is an expert in NLP and has spent over thirty years helping people get their sparkle back, but he does it in such a grounded and no nonsense way. We really dug into the idea that none of us are actually broken. We just have these old mental programs from childhood that keep us playing small and feeling stuck in the same cycles. In this episode of Thrive After 45™, John explains why happiness is something we do rather than something we just wait for. He shared this great metaphor about being your own travel agent and finally deciding on a destination instead of just complaining about where you have already been. It is such a powerful shift from the way most of us look at our lives in midlife. We also touched on why we stay stuck because we are so worried about what other people think of us. John’s advice on how to stop holding all our stress in like an overstuffed closet was a huge lightbulb moment for me. He even walked me through a simple way to override negative self talk using just three little words and a whole lot of heart. If you have been feeling a bit lost in your own identity lately, this chat is going to feel like a warm hug and a much needed nudge to take the wheel again. Grab your coffee and join us for this one.You can find more about John here:Website: www.LANLP.comNew Book - www.ControlYourEmotions.comThank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! The Secret Why You're Failing... And It's NOT Your Fault - with Dr. Alain Salas

Have you ever felt burned out while chasing a dream? Dr. Alain Salas, the "Mind Clearing Doctor," was living the ultimate success - a thriving practice, sailing in the South of France - but inside, he was overwhelmed and exhausted. This led to a personal collapse that hit his health (getting sick with an early stage of colon cancer!), his marriage (divorce), and his business. Talk about everything crashing down at once!Instead of staying defeated, he went inward, and what he discovered became his powerful three-step system for clearing limiting beliefs and creating success without the burnout. We dive deep into the mind-body connection, why having a personal "mission in life" is the only true way to avoid feeling lost, and why failure isn't really a thing - it's just a lesson you haven't learned yet. We also talk about a core concept he uses: the alignment of your Thought (the how), your Emotion/Heart (the why), and your Action (the what). This is the part that blew my mind: Dr. Salas explains that our conscious mind (where we focus all our effort to solve problems) is only 5–10% of our power, while the subconscious mind is a massive 90–95%! If you’re struggling to reach a goal, you’re trying to move a mountain with a tiny fraction of your mind. This conversation is a must-listen if you're ready to stop using only 5% of your power and finally understand how to get that full alignment. You'll hear us talk about:How his personal collapse led to his life-altering Mind Clearing system. Why understanding your life's mission eliminates the feeling of "no motivation."The difference between "victim mode" and being a "creator" of your reality. His three simple steps (delete, download, manifest) for transforming limiting beliefs into empowering ones.A beautiful visual of what "awakening" feels like when you finally clear the clouds in your sky.Find Dr. Alain Salas and his work here:Website: http://www.themindclearing.com/Thank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! Your "Second Brain" Can't Lie To You - with Anna Quigley

Anna Quigley is basically the "Intuitive Yoda" for women in midlife looking to figure out their next chapter. Anna has spent over 40 years steeped in metaphysics, quantum physics, psychology, and spiritual studies....not just reading about it, but truly living it.Just two years ago, she did the brave thing: she walked away from a job she loved that had turned toxic and fully committed to the work she knows she's meant to do. She’s here to help women clarify their purpose and bring it into fruition.Anna and I dive deep into how we can reprogram our thoughts and why our gut feelings are scientifically referred to as the "second brain." We talk about the power of visualization (and sensory imagination!) - it’s not just for Olympic athletes anymore, but a key tool for creating our reality.Anna shares her incredible, personal journey of listening to the "universal whisper" before it brought out the "club" (you'll know what I mean when you listen!). She explains why those gifts that come easily to us - the ones we tend to dismiss - are often the exact things we're here to share with the world. If you've been feeling that little internal nudge that there’s something more waiting for you, or if you need a little help listening to your intuition, this episode is a beautiful guide. Anna even has a great tool - an intuition tracking sheet - that she’s sharing with our listeners! You can find out more about Anna and connect with her here:Website: IntuitionGift.comThank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! Why 99% of Women Over 40 Can't Find Their Purpose (And The Simple Fix) - with Jim Marshall

Jim Marshall has spent years diving deep into the science and spirit of transformation. He's talking about something he calls "The Natural Law of Becoming," and trust me...it’s a total game-changer for how we think about aging and growth.Jim’s whole philosophy is this: You don’t have to push, hustle, or force your way into your next great chapter. It’s actually about slowing down, getting intentional, and letting your purpose unfold naturally, just like a seed turning into a tree.We talked about the pressure we feel after 45 to constantly do more or be more, and how that mindset is what actually leads to burnout. Jim gives us permission to stop chasing what’s broken and start listening to the powerful, clear wisdom that's already inside us.If you’ve been feeling like you’re trying to run uphill, or if you're ready for your next evolution but aren't sure how to start, this conversation is your moment to exhale. STOP Eating Like This Immediately - The ONE Mistake That Is Killing Your Digestion and Energy - with Dr. Len Lopez

Dr. Len Lopez has been a licensed chiropractor and natural medicine specialist for over 30 years. He's the guy who coined the phrase “eating right and training smart,” and he’s sharing how that’s expanded into a whole philosophy for success in every area of life.We start by diving into what "healthy" really means, especially for those of us navigating our 40s, 50s, and beyond. Dr. Len dropped some serious wisdom about digestion that was a total lightbulb moment for me. He explained that, just because you ate something doesn't mean your body absorbed the nutrients! We get into the crucial role your gut plays, and how eating how you eat (not just what you eat) can literally turn your digestive system off. Think less "warrior on a horse with a turkey leg" and more "sit, eat, and relax."But the conversation really takes off when we talk about his "Five Steps a Day" app, which helps you build success from the inside out. He breaks down the acronym S.T.E.P.S. and how tracking these small, daily actions for your body, mind, and spirit can create massive change. It’s all about those tiny, actionable steps that fill up your bucket and move you out of negative self-talk and into a virtuous cycle of life. This conversation is simple, clear, and powerful, and it’s going to give you the perfect actionable next step for wherever you are in your journey.I loved what Dr. Len said about knowing your "Land of Milk and Honey" - your goals - because if you don't know where you're going, don't be surprised if you land in the land of headaches and heartaches. This is a must-listen for anyone who wants to take charge of their well-being and mindset! To connect with Dr. Len Lopez and check out the Five Steps a Day app, you can find more information here:Website: www.DrLenOnline.comSocial Media: https://www.instagram.com/drlenlopez/Thank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! This Thrive After 45™ episode is all about creating a home that’s actually a sanctuary for your soul, and it has me looking at my living room completely differently.I sat down with Kim Depole, a mindful living design consultant. Seriously, this woman is a master at weaving together art, meditation, and interior design to help people create spaces that aren't just pretty, but are deeply restorative and soul-aligned.We’re talking about more than just picking out paint colors. STOP Letting Your Mind Run Your Life: The 3-Step System to Reclaim Your Power with Nami

Hey friend, grab a cozy seat and that mug of coffee - I have an incredible conversation to share with you! This week on Thrive After 45™, I'm so honored to introduce you to Nami, a leadership and mindset coach who is challenging us to think differently about how we lead our lives.Nami spent over 20 years in the corporate world, building high-performing teams, but her own journey through healing and self-discovery led her to an incredible realization. It was sparked by a heartbreaking tragedy that made her ask, "What is it that truly helps us pull ourselves out of the dark?" She saw that a high IQ or EQ wasn't enough; something crucial was missing. What she created is called The Mind Quotient (MQ), and it's a powerful framework that blends neuroscience, spirituality, and mindset to help us unlock our highest potential. Nami calls it the third quotient, focused on the mastery of the mind, which is responsible for our mental wellbeing and how we show up every day.The concept is beautifully simple: Self-Awareness + Self-Management. Once you know what's going on inside you (awareness) and what works for you to manage yourself (management), you can operate at peak MQ. The best part is that it's not one-size-fits-all; it's about getting to know yourself and intentionally applying a framework to what you already have available to you.Nami and I get into the real talk about how this shift starts with just looking inward, and how that realization - that you are co-creating your life and have the power to choose how you show up - is completely life-changing. This is such an important conversation for all of us, especially women who are looking to advocate for themselves and finally put themselves first without the guilt.Oh, and Nami is also a phenomenal writer! We talk about her new book, "Healing with Courage: My Journey From Dark to Light," a memoir written as poetry that takes you on her journey from trauma and disconnection to spiritual awakening and stepping fully into her power. This episode is all about reclaiming your power and realizing that the power to rise really does begin within. You'll want to hear Nami's one piece of advice for when you get triggered - it's simple, powerful, and a total game-changer for finding your pause and looking inward.Get ready to feel inspired, seen, andThank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! How to Find Answers Within Yourself - with Kathy Walden

Get ready for an incredibly open-hearted chat with Kathy Walden that feels like a big, warm hug! Kathy is a spiritual life coach who's been through the deep work herself, and she’s here to remind us that the guidance we've been searching for is already whispering inside us. In this episode of Thrive after 45™️, we’re talking about what it truly means to stop searching for the answers and start listening to the wisdom within. Kathy's own journey, which included facing a rock bottom moment and a 55-year-old memory of childhood molestation, taught her a profound truth...Everything changes when you learn to love and trust yourself. It’s a powerful conversation about moving from being a victim to taking full responsibility for your life - which is the key to spiritual growth. We dive into how you can start your spiritual journey without having to hit a crisis point first (because who wants to do that?), and what you can do instead of continuing to look outside yourself for validation. You'll hear us riff on:Why finding a mentor or getting into trauma therapy can be a game-changer on your path, especially if they point you inward rather than acting as a guru. The incredible ripple effect of your actions, energy, and healing—it’s much bigger than you realize, affecting your kids, parents, and generations before and after you. The difference between your soul speaking and your fear whispering: soul-talk is always simple, quiet, and loving. A great actionable tip for building self-trust: the rule of not saying anything to yourself that you wouldn't say to your best friend. The beautiful realization that growth is forever - it doesn’t stop at some imaginary finish line. Kathy's wisdom reminds us that we are truly enough and that you don't have to walk this challenging but ultimately rewarding spiritual journey alone. Give this episode a listen if you're ready to break down the walls of people-pleasing, ditch the mask you've been wearing, and finally say, "I'm tired of playing by everybody else's rules!" Find Kathy Walden here:TikTok https://www.tiktok.com/@kathyspiritualcoach,  IG https://www.instagram.com/kaThank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! She Left Law to Follow Her Intuition... and Now Flies Planes and Channels Spirit - with Kristen Swinehart

Kristen Swinehart is seriously redefining what it means to follow a truly unique path. You know that feeling when you realize you're completely out of alignment? Kristen did too. She walked away from practicing law, became a flight attendant, and stepped fully into her calling as a gifted channeler known as The Flying Medium. Imagine serving up soft drinks one minute and channeling spirit the next....it’s incredible! The part that blew me away is how fast she’s expanding! In just a couple of months, she started training to be a pilot, is launching a new mentorship, prepping her first book release, and......wait for it......unveiling her very own wine label!! She's calling the wine her "luxury door opener" because it creates a conversation starter where mediumship might not. Her plan is to do "book and bottle" launch parties, and honestly, it’s a brilliant idea.We had a deep, open-hearted talk about how all these seemingly different things......flying planes, channeling spirit, and launching a wine label......are actually interwoven when you’re in total alignment. Wanna know her secret? Leaning into the things that feel fun, because that fun is the key that unlocks everything else.If you’ve ever felt like an outsider, hated a job you thought you should do, or wondered how to get the universe to speed up your dreams, this episode is a must-listen. Kristen’s journey is proof that when you trust your intuitive whispers and raise your vibration, things can start shifting incredibly fast.We also dove into:How to go from feeling stuck and uncertain to clear, connected, and empowered. What it means to intentionally live an elevated, luxurious, soul-led lifestyle while doing deep spiritual work. The simple practice she uses to keep the negative human voice from interfering. Why sometimes those difficult life lessons keep showing up until you finally pay attention.Honestly, this conversation is a huge permission slip to follow those little nudges inside you. It can start small, but you truly don't know what's possible until you take that first step.Connect with Kristen Swinehart:Instagram: @theflyingmediumStanSThank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! This episode is a true gem. I'm so honoured to welcome back Jacqueline Perez, the heart-centered force behind Cool Life and a powerful champion for women in midlife. Jacqueline is the embodiment of everything we talk about here on Thrive After 45™: that our second act is where we truly rise into our power.Jacqueline gets real about her own menopause journey, which she says hit her "like a tractor trailer" and shook her physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Instead of letting it defeat her, she chose to face it head-on and transformed it into a global movement to normalize aging. We talk about the importance of being "selfish" in your healing process , and how that choice ultimately benefits everyone around you.She also shares the story behind her beautiful new book of poetry, Metamorphosis in Stanis, which she wrote as a way to process a series of difficult life events. The book is a woman's midlife companion that includes QR codes for each poem, so you can listen to her read them and feel the full energy behind her words. Jacqueline even reads one of the poems, "A World in Three Crayons," which is a perfect reminder that we can do amazing things with what we’ve been given, even if it feels like we only have "three crayons".This conversation is a permission slip to see yourself as a masterpiece in progress, to embrace every season of your life, and to believe that the best is truly yet to come.Go follow Jacqueline:🖥️ Website → https://kuellife.com/📕 Get her poetry book "Metamorphosis in Stanzas" Thank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! From Public Speaking Anxiety to Speaking Mentor - with Dr. Doreen Downing

Some of us are here to teach the very thing we once feared the most. That's the powerful truth at the heart of this week's Thrive After 45™ episode. I sat down with Dr. Doreen Downing, a clinical psychologist who spent decades helping people, all while secretly struggling with intense public speaking anxiety. It wasn't just nerves...it was a crippling fear that she couldn't "knuckle her way through" or overcome by memorizing scripts.Instead of letting her fear win, Doreen chose to do the deep inner work. What she discovered became her life's signature contribution...the Find Your Voice method. It's a powerful mix of psychology, mindfulness, and her own experience, created to help people stop performing and start expressing their truth in boardrooms, on stages, or at home. She’s mentored thousands of people over 45 years and was first licensed as a psychotherapist in 1980.We chat about how to move from pretending to performing and get to your quiet inner truth. Doreen's work is not about helping people be better speakers, but about helping them be more of who they are. She shares that what's in your way is actually the way. She also opens up about what most people get wrong about fear...that it's too big to approach...and how we can start listening to what our fear is trying to teach us.Doreen's book, "The 7 Secrets to Finding Your Voice," teaches a process of how to be still, be present, and eventually, be yourself. It’s a journey that takes you from the past, where your fears were born, to a courageous confidence in the present moment. I am sitting down with the phenomenal Felicity Ashley, and her story is just proof that our midlife years can be the most powerful and adventurous chapters yet.At 46, after leading marketing teams for 20 years, Felicity did something absolutely extraordinary: she rowed over 3,000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean with an all-female crew of working moms! This epic journey proved that women in midlife can do incredible things. But the adventure didn’t stop there. Soon after, she faced an entirely different kind of challenge: a diagnosis of stage three bowel cancer.Felicity’s story isn’t just about overcoming a life-threatening illness; it's about using the strength and resilience gained from one challenge to face the next. She shares how the mental and physical grit she built from rowing the ocean became her superpower to get through cancer treatment. And after overcoming cancer, she celebrated a three-year milestone by running the world's highest marathon at Everest Base Camp!!! Talk about unstoppable! We get into a real, honest conversation about what it means to truly thrive through change, uncertainty, and challenge. We also dive into the idea that age is an advantage, not a limitation. Felicity explains that being a working mom gave her a unique superpower on the Atlantic row. She and her crew were used to broken sleep from feeding children through the night, so the two-hours-on, two-hours-off rowing schedule didn't faze them. This is a conversation that will leave you feeling so empowered and ready to tackle your own "Everest" whatever that may be. You'll hear about how she made a career pivot to professional speaking and how her book, "Stronger Than the Storm," is inspiring others to find their own strength.Felicity’s message is so beautiful and simple...We are all so much stronger and more capable than we think, and it's only when we're challenged that we truly realize our own power. She encourages us to push ourselves and to say "yes" to the things that feel right for us, even if they feel scary. You can connect with Felicity and learn more about her inspiring journey on her website at www.felicityashley.comLinkedIThank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! Alright, friend! Grab your favorite mug and snuggle in, because this week’s episode of Thrive After 45™ is going to spark something incredible in you. I had the absolute honour of chatting with Tania Carriere, an "epiphany designer" who has dedicated over 30 years to helping others live their fullest lives. Seriously, she’s amazing.Tania and I talked about everything from her childhood adventures creating plays for sheep on her family farm to how she completely defied a mentor who told her being a "professional best friend" wasn't a real career. Spoiler alert: She proved him wonderfully wrong! We dive deep into how travel and theater became the unexpected catalysts for her unique approach to transformative retreats. It's all about stepping out of your current context to truly see yourself and the world in a new light. And lemme tell ya, what she calls "Defiant Joy" is a concept we all need to embrace, especially as we navigate midlife and beyond. It’s about insisting on joy, vision, and abundance, even when the world tries to tell you otherwise.Tania truly believes joy isn't something you earn after all the hard work; it's an action, a mindset, a choice, and even a political statement. We are all deserving of joy from the moment we are born. She also shares exciting details about her upcoming retreats, including "Sanctuary of Self" in Quebec City this October, focused on finding solace within yourself, and "Reimagine Self" in Baja, Mexico this November, where you can shed old archetypes and explore who you dare to be now. And if travel isn't in the cards right now, she offers online experiences too. This conversation is such a beautiful reminder that life is meant to be exciting, and it’s up to us to reach for that excitement. It's never too late to ask yourself, "Who do you dare to be now?".You can connect with Tania and explore her incredible work through the links here:Website: www.advivumjourneys.caLinked IN https://www.linkedin.com/in/taniacarriere/?originalSubdomain=caWith love from The Heart Whisperer....DeniseThank you for spending time with me today on the Thrive After 45™ podcast! It's Not Your Fault...It's Your DEFAULT - with Tim Tamashiro

Tim Tamashiro is one of those rare souls who makes you want to slow down, take a breath, and actually feel your own heartbeat again. This episode is a gentle exhale in the middle of all the noise. We talk about what it really takes to find peace in a world that feels like it’s always demanding more of you, how our brains are wired to keep us on edge (hello, tiny almond-shaped amygdala), and why letting go of suffering - even in the smallest moments - might just be the gateway to a happier life.Tim doesn’t sugarcoat the hard stuff. He’s been through burnout, reinvention, and the “what now?” questions that keep you up at night. But the wisdom he shares feels like sitting on the couch with an old friend who sees you, gets you, and reminds you that you’re not broken...you’re just human. This conversation is about giving yourself permission to pause. To soften. What NOT to Say At A Funeral - with Barbara Bowman

Barbara Bowman - author, speaker, and real-life grief whisperer - is turning some of the most awkward, heart-wrenching moments around death into opportunities for connection, compassion, and deep humanity. She has lived through unimaginable loss, and instead of hardening...she softened. She stayed open. She paid attention. And she turned all of it into wisdom you can actually use - especially in those moments when you're fumbling for the right words, trying to show up for someone, or wondering if it’s better to just stay away. This conversation is equal parts hilarious (yes, we talk about the woman who wore a trampy dress to a funeral) and deeply healing. We get into the real stuff - like what not to say when someone’s grieving, how to avoid those well-meaning-but-damaging platitudes, and why “I know how you feel” is probably the worst thing you can say.Barbara shares so many lightbulb moments around how we show up for each other during life’s hardest times. This episode should honestly be required listening for all humans. Her heart, humor, and honesty are such a gift. You’ll hear us riff on:Why comparison is the quickest way to make someone feel unseen in their griefThe silent damage of “doing nothing”How to repair relationships when you feel like you messed it upWhy your awkwardness isn’t the problem - disappearing isAnd how you can be the person who shows up with compassion, presence, and love… even when you don’t have the perfect wordsBarbara’s guide What Not to Do at Funerals is a must-have. It’s short, punchy, and packed with grace (and a few spicy anecdotes). Being Neurodivergent Isn't Something To Fix: It’s a Gift to Understand and Reclaim - with Rachel Radway

Rachel’s story isn’t your typical reinvention tale. After decades of leading, achieving, and people-pleasing her way through corporate life (while slowly burning herself out), she finally hit a wall. And instead of pushing through it like she always had… she walked away. From her job. Her home. Her whole identity. She sold everything and moved to Peru with four suitcases and zero certainty - only the deep knowing that something had to change. In this episode, we talk about what it really looks like to unravel. To surrender the script you were handed and write a new one. Rachel shares how she navigated burnout (again), why she stopped trying to fix herself, and how learning to honor her wiring - especially as a perceptive, driven, neurodivergent woman - changed everything. She’s now helping other women do the same through her coaching work and her gorgeous new book, Perceptive, which is all about reclaiming your sensitivity, your strength, and the truth of who you are. This conversation is full of gold if you've ever felt like you were "too much" or "not enough," if you’re curious about what it actually means to trust yourself in the middle of the unknown, or if you’ve been secretly wondering… “what if I just let it all go?”You don’t need to burn it all down to begin again. From Burnout to Psychic Channeler: A Midlife Awakening with Caren Carnegie

Some nudges are gentle. Others feel like a whisper you can’t ignore. For Caren Carnegie, it started with a whisper in her body - symptoms, discomfort, stuckness. But instead of pushing it down or muscling through (like we’re taught to do), she got curious. What began as a personal training journey turned into something much more sacred ... an embodied path back home to herself. This conversation is so much more than fitness talk ... it’s about the language of the body, the power of listening before you're forced to, and how transformation doesn’t have to be fast or flashy to be real and lasting. We talk about letting go of pressure, shifting comparison culture, tuning into the energy that’s always been guiding you, and what it really means to come alive from the inside out. You’ll hear us unpack:✨ How movement unlocks memory, intuition, and purpose✨ The connection between physical symptoms and spiritual messages✨ Why healing doesn’t have to look dramatic or sudden✨ What it means to build momentum in a soul-aligned way✨ The radical power of trusting your timing and honoring your own paceIf you’ve been feeling a quiet nudge ... or even a loud one ... this episode is your reminder: your body already knows. Your spirit already knows. You are not behind. You’re right on time.Caren is one of those women whose energy just shifts the room. I’m so honored to have had this conversation and can’t wait for you to experience her magic.🌟 Follow and connect with Caren:Website: https://transformfitnesscoaching.comInstagram: @carencarnegiefitnessFacebook: (2) FacebookLinkedIn: 2) Caren Carnegie | LinkedInWhat did this conversation stir up for you? Crack YOUR Code to Wellness & Heal Your Nervous System with Dr. David Yates

Ready for a soulful mix of science, story, and straight-up perspective shifts? In this episode of the Thrive After 45™, I sit down with Dr. David Yates, a chiropractor who’s part of the rare 2% practicing upper cervical chiropractic care - a powerful, nerve-focused approach that can completely change how your body functions and heals. But that’s just part of the story.Dr. Yates didn’t start his career in medicine. He was a high school Spanish teacher, burnt out by a broken system, when a snowboarding accident cracked open a completely different path......one that would lead him to helping thousands of people find real, lasting relief. His story is full of unexpected pivots, divine timing, and a deep commitment to helping others heal - not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually too.We talk about how your body actually communicates through your nervous system, how stress and trauma can throw that whole system out of alignment, and what it means to truly support your body’s innate ability to heal. He also shares about a surprising new technology called phototherapy that’s helping people activate their stem cells (without pills, potions, or prescriptions). This conversation is a reminder that healing isn’t just about fixing what’s broken -it’s about reconnecting with who you really are. Dr. Yates brings both the heart and the science, and his journey will inspire you to get curious about your own.Connect with Dr. Yates Here:http://www.godhealthandrelationships.com/[email protected] or text 425-802-0918⭐️ Thank you so much for leaving us a review and sharing with a friend.
