    Instrumental Activities of Daily Living

In this episode, we’re diving into something that might sound purely practical but actually carries deep spiritual significance: Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs).If you’re not in occupational therapy, this is simply a “fancy” way of describing the everyday tasks that fill your life—things like managing your home, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, grocery shopping, and caring for others. In this episode, we explore how bringing God into these areas transforms the way we see them. With God, our chores and responsibilities are no longer burdens to get through, but opportunities to practice stewardship, faithfulness, and worship in the middle of real life.If you’ve ever struggled with feeling like the “mundane” parts of life don’t matter—or feel disconnected from your faith—this conversation will help you see them differently.Because transformation doesn’t just happen in the big moments. It happens in the small, faithful ones too.

Trusting God in Every Job Season

In this episode, I sit down with a dear friend and fellow occupational therapist, Alicia, to have an honest conversation about faith, work, and what it really means to live out your calling. We talk about the reality of walking through jobs that feel misaligned, the lessons learned in seasons that didn’t feel fulfilling, and how God uses even the hardest experiences to shape and prepare us for what’s next. She shares her journey of moving from frustration to purpose, and how her faith has transformed the way she approaches every role she’s been in.We also dive into how to discern when to stay in a difficult work environment versus when it may be time to step into something new, and what it looks like to remain faithful and find joy—even on the hard days.If you’ve ever felt stuck, unfulfilled, or questioned your purpose in your work, this conversation will encourage you to trust that God is working in every season.

  3. 19

    Work

In this episode, we’re diving deep into a biblical perspective on work: what it is, why it matters, and how it’s meant to shape us (if we let it).Because contrary to what many believe, work is not a punishment. It’s part of God’s original design. It existed before the fall, and it still holds purpose today; even when it feels hard, frustrating, or unfulfilling. In this episode, I walk through:God’s design for work from the beginningWhy work feels hard The balance between work and restPartnering with God in your workHow to honor God in your work todayI also share personally about my own struggles with work—navigating a job that I don’t always love while pursuing a private practice and ministry I feel passionate about. Trust me, if you’ve ever felt tempted to rush ahead, quit, or just do the bare minimum… you’re not alone. This episode will challenge you to:Rethink your perspective on workShow up with integrity and excellenceRepresent Christ in your workplaceAnd trust God as your ultimate providerWhether you love your job, feel stuck in it, or are in a season of transition, this conversation will help you see your work through a completely different lens.

    When God Presses Pause

In this episode, I’m joined by my friend Michelle for a conversation about rest.Together we talk about what it looks like to navigate both intentional rhythms of rest and the unexpected, full-blown seasons where life slows down and God invites us to surrender everything. Michelle shares from her personal experience of walking through a season of rest that required letting go of old identities, releasing plans she once held tightly, and learning to fully seek the Lord in the waiting. We explore how these seasons can feel uncomfortable or even confusing at first, but how they often become sacred spaces where God reshapes our identity, restores our hearts, and realigns us with His purpose. In this episode we discuss:The difference between daily rhythms of rest and deeper seasons of restWhy surrender is often the first step into true restLetting go of identities tied to productivity, roles, or performanceSeeking the Lord intentionally when life feels slow or uncertainHow God uses seasons of rest to prepare us for what comes nextIf you’ve ever found yourself in a season where God seems to be asking you to slow down, wait, or release something you once defined yourself by, this conversation will encourage you to see rest not as a setback, but as an invitation.

  5. 17

    Rest

What does it actually mean to rest biblically? In this episode, we go back to the very beginning, to the pattern of rest God established in Genesis, where evening came before morning and rest was woven into creation itself. Before striving. Before working. Before proving. We talk about the traditional Sabbath rhythm practiced throughout the Old Testament, and how that rhythm points forward to something greater fulfilled in Jesus Christ.I also share practical steps to begin establishing a pattern of rest in your own life; not as legalism, but as alignment. You’ll walk away with a simple framework for creating a sustainable Sabbath rhythm that reflects the trust, dependency, and surrender we find in Christ. If you’ve been tired in your body, restless in your spirit, or unsure how Sabbath applies today, this episode will help you reframe rest not as a luxury, reward, or escape, but as worship.*Book referenced: How to Inhabit Time: Understanding the Past, Facing the Future, Living Faithfully Now by James K. Stewardship or Self-Worship? A Christian Conversation on Fitness

In this episode, I’m joined by my friend Serena, a former fitness coach, to dive into one of the most layered conversations in our culture today: health management.Together, we unpack the tension between physical stewardship and physical idolatry. When does discipline become pride? When does caring for our bodies slowly turn into control, punishment, or self-salvation?We talk honestly about: using fitness as a way to chase validation, the subtle ways vanity can disguise itself as “discipline”, when physical training becomes a replacement for spiritual redemption, how to pursue health without idolizing it, and what it really means to steward our bodies as believers. If you’ve ever wrestled with control, body image, striving, or confusion about how faith and fitness intersect, this episode will meet you right there.

  7. 15

    Health Mangement

Join me as we unpack what it truly means to practice proper stewardship of our physical, mental, and spiritual health—and why this conversation matters now more than ever. In a world where chronic illness is increasingly common and true health feels harder to attain, we’ll talk honestly about what’s going on, why so many people feel stuck, and where we can turn for trusted, evidence-based guidance. We’ll explore health through the lens of lifestyle medicine, drawing from the framework established by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM), including their six pillars of health: nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management, social connection, and avoidance of harmful substances. These pillars offer a practical, whole-person approach to preventing and managing chronic disease—while aligning closely with biblical principles of stewardship. Most importantly, we’ll look at what Scripture says about caring for our bodies, the heart behind honoring God with our health, and how healing and holiness are often more connected than we realize. My hope is that this episode doesn’t overwhelm you—but instead invites you to reflect, ask better questions, and explore what small, sustainable changes you might be called to make in your own life to glorify and honor God through your health.

    Faith, Self-Care, and Chronic Pain

In this episode, my sweet friend Kayla joins me to continue our conversation from two weeks ago on self-care.Together, we talk honestly about what it’s been like for Kayla to live with chronic pain—and how it has impacted not only her self-care and daily rhythms, but also her walk with the Lord. She shares how seasons of suffering have refined her faith, deepened her dependence on God, and taught her what it truly means to endure with Him.My hope is that Kayla’s story brings comfort, perspective, and encouragement to anyone who is walking through a hard season and learning how to steward their body, their life, and their faith in the midst of pain.

  9. 13

    Activities of Daily Life (Self-Care)

In this episode, we dive into the first area of occupation: Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)—all about self-care and meeting our basic physical needs like hygiene, eating, clothing, and rest. We’ll explore why the body sometimes gets a bad reputation, the difference between true self-care and self-indulgence, and practical ways to honor God through stewardship of our bodies.Later episodes will take a deeper look at other specific foundational areas of health, like rest and health management, but for now, enjoy this overview of caring for yourself as God’s beautifully created work.

    Season 2 Introduction

It is so good to be back! I know I’ve been a bit MIA, but I’m feeling refreshed, recharged, and SO excited to launch Season 2 of the podcast. This season introduces a new occupation each episode (aka an area of life—for all my non-occupational therapists out there 😉) and examines it through a biblical lens. We’ll explore every area of life you can think of, dive into what Scripture has to say about it, and invite you to reflect on what this area looks like in your own life—and how it can be shaped to reflect more of Christ. This season is designed to support Step 2: Examine Your Life more deeply. if you’re new here, I encourage you to go back and check out Steps 1 and 2 from Season 1 for more context and foundational teaching. Because remember, this journey isn’t about what we do—it’s about who we are in Christ, and allowing our actions to flow from that identity. This episode serves as an introduction to the season, so be sure to keep listening as we dive deeper into each individual area of life in upcoming episodes!

  11. 11

    Step 9: Be the Blessing

In this final episode for season 1 of the Transformed for Life podcast, we’re ending with Step 9: Be the Blessing.Transformation doesn’t end with us. Every step we’ve walked through was meant to prepare us for this: living out our faith in a way that overflows into the lives of others.Being the blessing means moving from simply receiving God’s truth to becoming a vessel of His love, peace, and encouragement in your family, friendships, workplace, and community. It’s about shining Christ’s light so that others can encounter Him through you.Join me as we unpack what it looks like to live generously, serve faithfully, and walk in the Spirit, not just for our own growth, but to point others toward the transformation only found in Jesus.

  12. 10

    Step 8: Consider Your Season

In this episode of the Transformed for Life podcast, we’re moving forward into Step 8: Consider Your Season. Our lives are dynamic and always changing as seasons come and go. Ultimately, God is sovereign over our life, at times calling us into circumstances and situations beyond our control. Sometimes He calls us to run, sometimes to rest. Sometimes to plant, sometimes to harvest. Ecclesiastes reminds us that “to everything there is a season,” and when we recognize what God is doing in our present moment, we can align our expectations, pace, and priorities with His will instead of pushing against it.Join me as we talk about how to evaluate your current season, embrace it, and continue to stay faithful to God’s process of transformation—even if it looks different from what you imagined.

  13. 9

Step 7: Stay Faithful & Consistent

In this episode of the Transformed for Life podcast, we’re moving into Step 7: Stay Faithful and Consistent. Faithfulness and consistency are what turn momentary change into lifelong transformation. Ultimately, growth in Christ doesn’t come from big leaps every once in a while, but it more than often comes from small, steady steps of obedience that add up over time. And while it’s tempting to quit when things get hard, God’s Word reminds us that endurance is part of our calling. But here’s the hope: staying faithful isn’t about striving harder on your own. It's not about getting it perfect every time. It’s about relying on the Spirit who strengthens you, the God who keeps His promises, and the community He places around you to encourage you along the way.Whether you joined us on Tuesday night or you’re catching up here, I invite you to listen as we uncover the role consistency and faithfulness plays in transformation.

  14. 8

    Step 6: Develop Systems

In this episode of the Transformed for Life podcast, we’re moving right along and getting into Step 6: Create Systems.Because the truth is that transformation doesn’t stick without structure. In Step 6 of our journey, we’re talking about what it means to create systems that support lasting change. In order to support your new habits, you will need sustainable rhythms, routines, and intentionality to actually make space for and prioritize this new life you are living out.In this episode, we’ll talk about the importance of intention and tools you can use to design practical systems across every area of your life—so you can stop starting over and finally build a life that aligns with who you are in Christ.

  15. 7

    Step 5: Change Your Habits

In this episode of the Transformed for Life podcast, we’re stepping into Step 5: Change Your Habits. Because transformation isn’t just about knowing the truth (Step 2), redefining your identity in Christ (Step 3), or setting truth-based goals (Step 4); it’s about actually living those truths out in your everyday life. The habits we choose either strengthen our old patterns or build up the new creation God has called us to be. And the truth is, you can’t step into lasting transformation if your daily rhythms are still rooted in the old self. Change happens when we surrender our routines, our choices, and our desires to God and allow Him to reshape them according to His Word. But here’s the key to making this really work: habits formed in Christ aren’t about willpower alone. They’re about abiding in Him. When our habits are aligned with His Spirit, they become tools that not only keep us moving toward our goals but also anchor us in obedience, strengthen our faith, and shape us into who God designed us to be.Whether you joined us on Tuesday night or you’re catching up here, I invite you to listen as we dive deeper into how to put off the old and put on the new, one Spirit-led habit at a time.

  16. 6

    Step 4: Set Truth-Based Goals

In this episode of the Transformed for Life podcast, we’re stepping into Step 4: Setting Truth-Based Goals. Because transformation isn’t just about recognizing what needs to change (Step 2) or redefining who you are in Christ (Step 3), it’s about taking those truths and putting them into action. The goals we set in this step become the bridge between where God has revealed our broken patterns and false beliefs, and where He’s calling us to live in our new identity. Without truth-based goals, it’s easy to stay stuck in knowing the truth without ever walking it out.But here’s the key: when our goals are anchored in God’s Word, they don’t just shape our habits they help us to align our hearts with His purposes. They move us forward in obedience, help us grow in faith, and remind us that transformation is both a process and a partnership with God.Whether you joined us on Tuesday night or you’re catching up here, I invite you to listen as we explore together how to set goals that reflect God’s truth, not just our own ambition.

  17. 5

    Step 3: Redefine Your Identity

In this episode of the Transformed for Life podcast, we’re diving into Step 3: Redefine Your Identity.Because the truth is, you weren’t just saved from something—you were saved into something greater. This transformation process means more than escaping sin, shame, and brokenness. It’s also about stepping into a brand-new life, purpose, and identity that only God can give. But here’s the truth—there’s no resurrected life without a death to the old one. The beliefs we’ve held about ourselves, the convictions shaped by our pain or culture, and the patterns we’ve carried for years that we were exposed to in Step 2—they can’t stay if we want to live fully transformed.Whether you were with us on Tuesday night or couldn’t make it, grab your journal, take a walk, or find a quiet spot, and join me as we explore what it means to root your identity fully in Christ.

  18. 4

    Step 2: Examine Your Heart

In this episode of the Transformed for Life podcast, we’re diving into Step 2: Examine Your Heart.Step 1 was about coming to the Father, and trusting that He would meet you there with love, acceptance, and forgiveness. This next step is about slowing down long enough in the safety of His presence to truly look within — not with judgment, but with honesty and grace. We’ll talk about what it means to examine the deeper places of our hearts: the underlying motives, mindsets, and hidden wounds that shape our beliefs, choices, and actions. So often, we avoid this kind of self-reflection because it’s uncomfortable. But healing and transformation require truth, and truth must begin with awareness.Maybe you’ve been carrying lies that were never yours to hold, or patterns of thinking that don’t align with God’s truth. Maybe there are areas of your heart that you’ve tried to keep off-limits and hidden away from Him. In this episode, we’ll explore how to invite God into those very places, because He’s not afraid of the mess. In fact, He longs to bring healing to it.This step is all about learning to see ourselves the way He does, letting His Word reveal what’s broken, and also what’s beautiful. If you’re ready to dig deeper, get honest, and allow God to meet you in the process, this episode is for you.

  19. 3

Step 1: Come to the Father

In this episode of the Transformed for Life podcast, we're diving into Step 1: Come to the Father. This step is the cornerstone of true transformation. We’ll talk about our deep, undeniable need for God and why it’s often so hard to come to Him in the first place. Whether it’s shame, fear, pride, or past pain, there are real barriers that can keep us from turning to the One who loves us most. But here’s the truth: God isn’t waiting for you to have it all together. He’s just waiting for you to come. Will you?I’ll also unpack how we move from a moment of salvation into a lifestyle of surrender and new life in Christ. This is where the journey of becoming a new creation begins — and it’s not about perfection, it’s about presence. His. And where our next steps will follow. If you’ve ever wondered how to take your first real step toward healing, freedom, and spiritual transformation, this episode is for you.Listen now and let’s walk this journey together.🌐 For more resources, visit transformedforlife.net📲 Follow us on Instagram: @transformedforlife2517
