Curiosity Over Comfort: The Power of Showing Up, Asking More, and Fearing Less

In this solo episode, I dive into one of the most underestimated superpowers we have: curiosity. After attending three wildly different events in a single night—a corporate affair, a lifestyle mixer, and an intimate jazz gathering—I reflect on what allows me to move seamlessly between rooms, connect with strangers, and expand my network in just a few hours. Spoiler: It wasn’t status, polish, or knowing all the right things to say—it was openness. This episode is a call to courageous women (and men, too): curiosity is the bridge between fear and connection, between judgment and empathy. When you choose curiosity over comfort, everything changes—from your relationships to your confidence, your worldview, and your ability to show up fully as yourself. With insight, inspiration, and practical reflection, I remind us that we all belong in every room if we’re willing to grow in. And sometimes, the most transformative moments in life and business begin with a single brave question.

Startup Storytime: You Can Only Control What You Can Control

Startup culture loves the grind—but what happens when the hustle turns into burnout, and the dream can feel like a one-woman show holding up a crumbling foundation? Here I share a raw, behind-the-scenes story of working inside one of the buzziest new content startups—an international influencer-driven short form content studio that at the time, was destined for disruption... until it wasn’t. From blurred roles and chaotic midnight meetings to leadership misalignment and ultimate shutdown, this episode peels back the curtain on what really happens when the infrastructure of a startup is broken from the top down. It’s a cautionary tale and a powerful reminder: You can give your best, but you can’t save a system that doesn’t want to be saved. If you’ve ever blamed yourself for a failing business, felt imposter syndrome creeping in, or sacrificed too much for a role that didn’t serve you—this one’s for you. I touch on self-responsibility vs. self-blame, learning to detach with clarity, and the critical importance of knowing what’s yours to carry... and what’s not. Protect your energy. Own your impact. And remember: even the most talented people can burn out inside broken systems. This is Unfiltered—where the founder stories are real, and the insights are hard-earned.

Hello from the Host, Georgii Speakman

I started Unfiltered as the next evolution of my storytelling journey, building on two earlier ventures that shaped my passion for authentic conversations. It began with having started The People Series in 2014—before podcasting became the cultural phenomenon it is today—where I explored the stories of inspiring creatives. In 2018, I launched OUT.LI.ER TV, born from my consulting practice and talent management company, as a platform to showcase raw, impactful narratives from multi-hyphenate creators, entrepreneurs, and visionaries. Unfiltered is the natural continuation of this mission: a space to dig deeper, embrace real talk, and connect over the unvarnished truths of entrepreneurship, creativity, and the human journey - all housed under the one roof. This podcast is where it all comes together—an honest, unscripted exploration of the stories that shape us, business endeavors that make or break us, and the insights that drive us forward. I hope you enjoy!
