From Homeless to Hopeful w/ Dom Yanas | Tanji Patton's Goodtaste for the Soul e71
About our episode on homelessness—did you hear it?A few weeks ago on this podcast, I shared the story of a remarkable woman who connects with people experiencing homelessness in a way I hadn’t seen before. She has this rare ability to look past what’s on the surface and truly see the person underneath. Instead of judging, she meets people with dignity and presence. That conversation stayed with me and led me to reach out to another voice doing similar work at Communities Under the Bridge in the Alamo City. He once experienced homelessness himself, actually lived in a shelter, and came out of it with a clear sense of purpose and a unique understanding of the problem. His perspective is both honest and challenging: homelessness may not be something we fully “solve,” but meaningful change is still possible—depending on how we choose to show up, respond, and engage with those living it every day. Perhaps, there’s something here we can all embrace!📺 LIKE & SUBSCRIBE for delicious new videos every week!https://www.youtube.com/@GoodTastewithTanji?sub_confirmation=1🍽️ Watch full clips and featured recipes from Goodtaste with Tanji:https://www.goodtaste.tv/recipes/📧 Sign up for our weekly newsletter!Stay up to date with Tanji's wine finds, featured restaurants, easy recipes, and tips:https://www.goodtaste.tv/newsletter/🕛 Watch Goodtaste with Tanji on TVFind your local air times and channels:https://www.goodtaste.tv/goodtaste-tv/🎧 Listen to the Goodtaste for the Soul podcastApple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/goodtaste-for-the-soul/id1790780905Spotify:https://open.spotify.com/show/0sa7IUq4VoxEm2yRK8a8Tq📲 Follow Goodtaste with Tanji on social media:Instagram: @GoodtasteTVFacebook: Goodtaste with TanjiYouTube: @GoodTastewithTanjiPinterest: GoodtasteTVTikTok: @GoodtasteTV👩🍳 Follow Tanji Patton personally:Instagram: @TanjiPattonTwitter/X: @TanjiPattonLinkedIn: Tanji Patton🌐 Visit us online for more wine pairings, travel, and lifestyle tips:https://www.goodtaste.tv#GoodtasteWithTanji #TanjiPatton #TexasEats #WineFinds #FoodieLife #GoodtasteTV

Escaping Communism w/ Defector Denise Mazal | Tanji Patton's Goodtaste for the Soul e65
Sometimes the most powerful journeys begin with a choice — a choice that costs you everythingyou’ve worked for.My guest today knows that feeling well.Denise Mazal grew up behind the Iron Curtain in what was then Czechoslovakia, where freedomwas limited and opportunity was tightly controlled. Denise was a talented athlete, a member ofthe Czech national rowing team, with a real chance to compete in the 1976 Olympic Games inMontreal. But she made a remarkable decision. In pursuit of freedom, Denise walked away from that Olympic dream — and from the countryshe had always known. Her story feels especially relevant right now. Just this week, several members of Iran’s women’snational soccer team defected during an international tournament, choosing freedom overreturning home.Different countries. Different generations. But the same courageous choice.Denise took that risk decades ago. Today she shares what it was like to leave everything behind, the courage it took to start over, and how that decision shaped the rest of her life.📺 LIKE & SUBSCRIBE for delicious new videos every week!https://www.youtube.com/@GoodTastewithTanji?sub_confirmation=1🍽️ Watch full clips and featured recipes from Goodtaste with Tanji:https://www.goodtaste.tv/recipes/📧 Sign up for our weekly newsletter!Stay up to date with Tanji's wine finds, featured restaurants, easy recipes, and tips:https://www.goodtaste.tv/newsletter/🕛 Watch Goodtaste with Tanji on TVFind your local air times and channels:https://www.goodtaste.tv/goodtaste-tv/🎧 Listen to the Goodtaste for the Soul podcastApple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/goodtaste-for-the-soul/id1790780905Spotify:https://open.spotify.com/show/0sa7IUq4VoxEm2yRK8a8Tq📲 Follow Goodtaste with Tanji on social media:Instagram: @GoodtasteTVFacebook: Goodtaste with TanjiYouTube: @GoodTastewithTanjiPinterest: GoodtasteTVTikTok: @GoodtasteTV👩🍳 Follow Tanji Patton personally:Instagram: @TanjiPattonTwitter/X: @TanjiPattonLinkedIn: Tanji Patton🌐 Visit us online for more wine pairings, travel, and lifestyle tips:https://www.goodtaste.tv#GoodtasteWithTanji #TanjiPatton #TexasEats #WineFinds #FoodieLife #GoodtasteTV

NYT Best Selling Author Lee Strobel "The Case for Christ" | Tanji Patton's GTFS e52
During this Christmas season, when so many people are searching for meaning, hope, or answers for themselves or someone they love, a book written by a former atheist may seem like an unlikely source of comfort.Best-selling author Lee Strobel’s own search for truth transformed his life and saved his marriage — and he’s helped countless others begin their own journeys. That search led to The Case for Christ, a book that has sold millions of copies worldwide, in which Strobel used his investigative journalism skills to tackle the biggest question of all: Who is Jesus — was He really the Son of God?I had heard about his book for years and never bothered to read it, because I felt like, as a Christian, I didn’t need to. I was wrong. "Our Daughter was Trafficked" The Story of Brittany Leigh McCarthy | Goodtaste for the Soul e41
Today’s episode is not an easy one—but it’s one of the most important we’ve ever shared. I’ve wrestled for months on how to share what I’ve learned about child trafficking. We’re joined by personal friends of mine whose world was forever changed when their daughter was trafficked. It’s the kind of story most parents think could never happen to their family, but their experience is a sobering reminder that no one is immune. We’ll hear how they discovered what was happening, the heartbreak they endured, and the strength they’ve found in speaking out. Their story is raw, it’s real, and it’s a warning we all need to hear—because protecting our children means first understanding how this tragedy can unfold — evil is real as we’ve all witnessed this week.Parents, grandparents, anyone who cares about kids—you’ll want to lean in for this conversation. It’s painful, but it’s also a call to action.

Curiosity seekers, truth seekers even skeptics come to see and feel the energy that surrounds the beautiful gardens and its largest tenant, The Empty Cross.
