    Construction of Protagonist Rhetorical Vision

    The history of Nepalese social movements is characterized by the contest of credit-taking/losing between major political actors. Discourse representing this contest problematizes yet forms a vantage point for rewriting contemporary Nepali history. This text presents a thesis that rhetorical study of movement-time corporate editorials discovers at least one alternative location to look at the recent history of Nepal -- the construction of a protagonist warrior youth.

    Timilai Dekhera Aankha..

    "I saw you and walked away leaving my eyes there." "I saw you and walked away leaving my steps there." "I saw you and walked away leaving my heart there." These lines would not sound as good in English translation as would in the original Nepali ever-green by Udit Narayan. I have only tried to give some sense to what they meant.

    Journey into Classroom

    There is a simple condition for becoming a teacher: that you must be able to teach. It is not the question of having high intelligence, but of being able to use whatever intelligence you have so as to impart at least some portion of your knowledge. Anyone with this ability can come to teaching and become successful in course of time. What matters is your desire to update. Teaching and stagnation do not go together. When they do, teaching fails.     Literacy Narrative

    Formally, my literacy began with the teaching by my father, himself a one-time school teacher, and a well-read gentleman. He taught me alphabets and numbers in dust, and sometimes in dust-smeared rough planks, with a piece of hard straw or the forefinger. I imitated him as he drew the symbols.     Speech to Closing Ceremony of 15th NELTA Conference

    I got an opportunity to attend a summer program in the USA because NELTA considered me credible for it. I know I could help with the skills I learned in USA; I should have started last year itself. However, it could never be late. So, I came to this conference with a subject that merged my digital skills with traditional knowledge (application of rhetoric in blogging). Some of my colleagues here attended it.     History of a Hillock

    A decade and a half ago, there stood a hillock Distant from the chaos of busy cities Serene and natural for ages. One day the hill was thought Good for more than a rural farm Then new houses emerged one by one Heralding a move to modernity. Architects of the new face Marked arrival of a new era; And promised to work for more; Great men praised the initiation. The green hill of the old times Greeted giant buildings and new plantations. No doubt, the place now prides In its new attire and face, While new road and new building Welcome minds manifold That crave for wisdom and growth; And climb the well-paved paths, Eager and intent to go higher, Ecstatic at the success, And on their share of the changes ahead; Great men endorse their growth In awe, amazement And the spirit of belonging; With smile of satisfaction And sense of guardianship, Which lightens up these zealous faces. The hill now has a different life, Of variegated faces and emotions, Written in every new creation, And in the remains of the old times.
