Supercharge Your Meditation - Two important steps people skip
These two simple steps you can pay attention to when you meditate will make all the difference and supercharge your meditation experience. These are not mistakes, but people often skip over these things without realizing just how fundamentally important they are. If you start to incorporate them into your daily meditation routine, you will go from meditation frustration to meditation master.Hope you find this helpful. Thanks for listening. Mat Robinson ~ The Gregarious HermitShow Notes at TheGregariousHermit.comBuy me a coffee or consider sponsoring the show#InnerPeace #SpiritualAwakening #SpiritualJourney #Enlightenment #SpiritualAwakeningPodcast #Meditation #MeditationTipsMeditation can be difficult and frustrating for a lot of people, but adopting these two strategies and adding them to your meditation routine will give you that extra little push into something more exciting. The two things are not difficult and you'll probably go "well duh", but usually when I talk to people that are struggling with meditation it's because they skip over this key step. So they spend their entire meditation just sitting with their eyes closed wrestling with their mind instead of floating on could nine in nirvana. The second tip is not often taught, but reinforcing this idea right after you finish your meditation can help you bring that peace into the real world with you after you're done. And that's the point isn't it. We meditate to experience peace and bliss, but we also want that to spill over into our everyday life. So making this step deliberate and focused helps your evolution move along a little quicker.Namaste my friends.I wish you nothing but peace, love and happiness. Oh and deep inner-peace and infinite bliss.Mat

Stress - a natural response to an unnatural world
Your mind is designed to keep you alive. It's a finely tuned survival machine, but it's operating in an environment for which it was never designed. So now the airbags keep going off for all the wrong reasons.Learn how your body responds to stress and how to reprogram this default behavior. There's no need to have a heart attack because you have a report due in the morning, so stop letting your "woolly mammoth" avoidance system tell you that you have a problem. Thanks for listening.Mat ~ The Gregarious HermitShow notesBuy me a coffee, meet with me over zoom or sponsor an episode - buymeacoffee.com/TheGregariousHermit------------------------------------------So this primitive system seems to be working just fine. It's doing exactly what it's supposed to do and keeping us alive. Only now it's working in an environment for which it was never designed. Here's another great analogy. Flippers are great for snorkeling, but they make lousy dance shoes. And your mind is no different. It's great for keeping a safe from immediate existential harm, but it's terrible when it comes to deciding what is a real threat. In the absence of real dangers in our modern world, it seems to get confused and triggered easily by the most trivial of discomforts. Our ancestors faced imminent death on a daily basis, and so this system of shock therapy worked really well to keep us alive and evolve the species. There were very few things to worry about, lots of things that could kill us. But our world is so different now. There are not so many things that can kill us, but lots of things to worry about.............If I get mugged on the subway, I become wary of the subway. And if I’m in a math class and the teacher asks me a question in front of everyone that I can’t answer or I get the answer wrong. If people laugh at me or I feel like they’re judging me, I will develop a fear of judgment.I’m going to do an entire episode on this subject because I feel like this is the number one problem affecting society these days, and especially the younger generations that were brought up with smartphones and social media.............So this primitive system seems to be working just fine. It’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to do and keeping us alive. Only now it’s working in an environment for which it was never designed. Here’s another great analogy. Flippers are great for snorkeling, but they make lousy dance shoes. And your mind is no different. It’s great for keeping a safe from immediate existential harm, but it’s terrible when it comes to deciding what is a real threat. In the absence of real dangers in our modern world, it seems to get confused and triggered easily by the most trivial of discomforts............Fear of public speaking is apparently the number one fear. Although I disagree with that, and I’ll show you why in a moment. So much for a survival of the species. Now, I’m afraid of speaking. But am I really afraid of speaking? Or am I afraid I’ll say the wrong thing, forget what I’m supposed to say or my pants will fall down?Okay, well, let’s take that a step further. What if I say the wrong thing? There’s no real danger there. What if I forget what to say? There’s no danger there either. And what if my pants fall down? There’s no danger there. So let’s take it a step further again. If any of those things happen to me, there’s a chance that you guys will laugh at me and make fun of me. And these days, I could become a meme. ........In a nutshell, stress kills. Well, the good news is that it’s very easy to reprogram your mind. There are two steps. First, we have to stop reacting to the mind as much as possible. If the problem remains just a thought and you don’t physically react to it, then your mind will start to understand that you don’t care about that. You don’t feel threatened. So it’s not something it needs to keep warning you about.

Ignore Your Mind - That voice in your head isn't talking to you
A lot of people ask, why does our mind talk to us. It’s a fairly common question. Through my awakening process I was able to observe the mind when it feels superior as well as when it feels inferior. I also got to spend a couple of years with a completely silent mind. But the real, ahaaaaaa, moment came when that voice in my head slowly started talking again. Then it became plain to see that our mind is reacting to the world around us simply looking for our advantage. What makes us superior. But underneath all this, is the fear that triggers that response. This episode of the Infinite Bliss podcast unravels this mystery by providing a very simple, thought provoking theory. This alternative view of what the mind is doing when you "think" it's talking to you is incredibly eye opening. You'll view that voice in your head very differently after listening to this episode and will be able to take back control and step away from the drama. That pesky voice in your head is never talking to you. Listen now to find out why. Thanks for listening.Mat Robinson ~ The Gregarious HermitShow NotesBuy Me a Coffee or consider sponsoring an episode

Expectations - don't let them ruin your day
There's only one way you can have your expectations met, but an almost unlimited number of ways they can be broken. See how this primitive process that evolved to improve our chances of survival is now one of the main reasons we're unhappy. Also learn what you need to do to rewire this outdated programming. When we day dream and make plans, we visualize perfection, how we WANT the future to be. So what happens when our mind notices that we didn't meet those expectations? We didn't get what we wanted? It starts to complain about what was supposed to be, instead of allowing us to enjoy what is.We should definitely use our mind to make plans, but we should not allow our mind to get upset when those plans fall short. Being unhappy serves no purpose. It doesn't change anything about our situation. All it does is release small amounts of stress hormones into our systemDon't expect this episode to be any good, and you won't be disappointed. Infinite Bliss Trailer
My name is Mat Robinson, "The Gregarious Hermit", and I'm so excited to introduce my new podcast, Infinite Bliss. I want to use my personal awakening story to bridge the gap between modern psychology and ancient spiritual wisdom. If you're stressed, depressed, anxious or overwhelmed with life, this podcast is for you. If you're on a spiritual journey or experienced a spiritual awakening yourself, this podcast is for you. And if you find yourself in your head instead of getting things done, then this podcast is definitely for you. We're going to have some really deep discussions about our place in the universe, what's life all about, as well as some practical tips you can use to get rid of all the stress and the drama in your life. Of course, we're going to talk about the classic practices of meditation, mindfulness and unconditional love. But we're also going to look at those things from a modern perspective so you can incorporate them into your life much more easily. We're even going to get a little controversial at times. My views on why your mind talks to you differ greatly from mainstream psychology. I'm going to connect the dots for you and show you why your mind makes you unhappy, why it leaves you feeling unfulfilled and just wanting more.I want to give you the tools and the confidence to ignore that voice in your head so you can let go of all the drama in your life and experience, deep inner peace and infinite bliss. This podcast promises quite a lot and I really hope that I can deliver. So fire up your dopamine receptors in anticipation of the first episode where I describe my crazy yet beautiful awakening experience. It's quite a doozy and I wouldn't want you to miss it. So don't forget to like, subscribe and follow so you can catch the first episode starting in December. And in the meantime, happiness is easier than you think. If you stop thinking, you'll be happy.
