The King Who Went Looking for Water and the God Who Went Looking for Us | Faith Under Fire: The Ministry of Elijah

Faith Under Fire, a sermon series that focuses on The Ministry of Elijah. Today's sermon is based on 1 Kings 18:1–15  given by Elder Steve Guthrie. In 1 Kings 18:1–15, while King Ahab searches desperately for water during the drought, God sends Elijah back as a sign that He is still pursuing His people. Through Obadiah’s fearful but faithful obedience, we see what it looks like to trust God under pressure. The passage shows that while earthly leaders chase control and provision, God is actively seeking to restore hearts—calling His people to bold faith even in difficult circumstances.

God's Heart for Suffers | Faith Under Fire: The Ministry of Elijah

Faith Under Fire, a sermon series that focuses on The Ministry of Elijah. Today's sermon is based on 1 Kings 17:17-24 given by Dir. of Family Life, Cody Balfour. The sermon teaches that suffering is not a punishment for sin and that God’s Kingdom is not built on merit. While sin can have consequences, personal suffering is not necessarily our fault. In the passage, we see deep grief and shaken faith, yet God turns out dead ends into doorways. He is a Good Shepherd who stays present, God rebuilds our shattered faith. Let God be God in our lives—believing that He is working toward good and is willing to restore what feels shattered, if we allow Him to.

The God of More Than Enough | Faith Under Fire: The Ministry of Elijah

Faith Under Fire, a new sermon series that focuses on The Ministry of Elijah. Today's sermon is based on 1 Kings 17:7-15 given by Rev. Dr. Mika Edmondson. When we face scarcity—whether physical, emotional, or spiritual—we turn to God, who is more than enough. Through Elijah’s story, we see that God provides through faith, community, and hope, often in unexpected ways. In every season of lack, God meets us—in our weakness, in our asking, and in our receiving. He is faithful, present, and abundant. Whatever you’re facing today, remember: the Lord is more than enough.

A Word that Reigns and Refines | Faith Under Fire: The Ministry of Elijah

Faith Under Fire, a new sermon series that focuses on The Ministry of Elijah. Today's sermon is based on 1 Kings 17:1–6 given by Rev. Dr. Mika Edmondson. In 1 Kings 17:1–6, we see that no king or system defines reality—only God’s Word reigns. While Ahab trusted in control and resources, Elijah trusted in the authority of God’s Word, which also refines us through seasons of vulnerability and dependence. In the end, the Word that reigns and refines is the same Word that redeems and faithfully provides for His people.

A Living Hope | Resurection Sunday | Koinonia Church

A Living Hope: What Jesus Gives, Nobody Can Take Away. Today’s sermon is based on Christ’s resurrection. Our scripture reading comes from 1 Peter 1:3–5, given by Rev. Dr. Mika Edmondson. Life has a way of stripping away what we thought was secure, but as 1 Peter 1:3–5 reminds us, through the resurrection of Jesus we are given a living hope that cannot be taken away. Peter wrote to believers facing death, yet their hope endured because it was rooted in a living Savior—we are tethered to Christ, so as long as He lives, we live. This hope secures a lasting inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. Everything in this world fades, but what Jesus gives does not—our hope is alive, our future is secure, and in Him, we have what can never be taken away.

Behold The King | Palm Sunday

Won't You Be My Neighbor, a complimentary sermon based on John 12:12-19 given by Rev. Dr. Mika Edmondson. John 12:12–19 reveals Jesus as the Heralded King, praised by the crowds as the giver of life who conquers death. Yet He is also the Hidden King, whose purpose is not fully understood—His timing, methods, and fulfillment of Scripture unfolding beyond human insight. At the same time, He is the Hated King, opposed by the Pharisees who cannot stop His rising influence. This passage presents an unstoppable King and asks: how do you see Him?

The Sermon on the Mount, a sermon series focused on Living In the Kingdom. This sermon is given by  Rev. Dr. Mika Edmondson, based on Matthew 7:12-23 Walking the line of faith means intentionally choosing the narrow way of Jesus — a careful walk marked by a life reoriented around Him and attentive to His voice; a considered walk that discerns false prophets who look right outwardly but lack inward fruit; and a committed walk rooted in obedience, because “not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom…” (Matt. 7:21).
