Surrender. Sometimes this word has a negative meaning if speaking in terms of battle. However, for Christians, we must surrender to Jesus. Reflect today on this thought, "Are you merely a fan of Jesus, or have you surrendered your will to Him?"

"Not on Our Own" was preached by Pastor Kevin Slemp at Berea Baptist Church on January 4th, 2026. In this sermon, Pastor Slemp recounts the miracle of Jesus turning 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish into enough food to feed thousands and have 12 baskets left over. "Where God guides, He provides." When God calls His people to action, it requires us to take a step of faith. Sometimes His calling may seem illogical, or even scary, but we can always trust Him to provide.

Today is the first Sunday of Advent. Are you ready for Christmas? Today, Pastor Slemp encouraged us to let go of any fear that is holding us back from a more loving and deep relationship with Jesus. 

This week was Women's Day, and we were blessed to hear from Noelle Morgan, Ariel Sexton and Abbie Darst. God works in our lives and each woman who shared today has seen Him work in amazing ways. 

On November 2nd, 2025, Elder Steve Case preached a sermon titled, "Open our Eyes". Elder Case used 2 King 6:8-23 and reminded us of Elisha's faith and clarity in the midst of doom and danger. How do you see the world? Do you live by what you see and experience, or by faith and trust? 

Why do bad things happen to good people? Is the church's approach to LGBTQ matters appropriate? In today's sermon, Elder Brian Hill answered these tough questions. As the title of the sermon suggests, the answers may be simple but not easy, and hard but right. 

October 19th was Baptist Men's Day, so during this podcast, you will hear from 3 men from Berea Baptist Church. Sam Grinstead, Scott Myers and Isaac Sexton. 

Pastor Don Breeden reminded us that our salvation should cause us to change and to understand just how desperate we are for God. 

Jacob Briggs filled in for Pastor Slemp and delivered a powerful sermon which reminds us who we are in Christ. 

In this third and final sermon of Reset: Live the Mission, Pastor Kevin shares the urgency of sharing Christ with others. It is up to everyone of us to share the Good News!

On August 31, 2025, Pastor Kevin Slemp continued Berea Baptist Church’s Reset sermon series, walking through the church vision: Love God. Love God’s Family. Live the Mission.This week’s message focused on what it means to truly love God’s family. Looking at Acts 2:41–47, Pastor Kevin explored how the early church lived in deep fellowship—sharing meals, caring for one another’s needs, and building both large and small group connections. He challenged us to consider the importance of investing in relationships through Sunday School classes and home-based Small Groups, reminding us that discipleship and caregiving happen best when we live life together.In a culture that values convenience and independence, God calls us into something greater: community. Pastor Kevin reminded us that we were created not only for relationship with God, but also for relationship with each other. At some point, everyone needs a coach, some cheerleaders, and a team. Together, we are stronger, encouraged, and protected from the isolation that leaves us vulnerable.Whether you’re feeling connected or alone, this message is a call to step into fellowship, to share life with God’s people, and to embrace the truth that we are not meant to do life alone.Memory Verse:"Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. Of course we should share the Gospel. But, what if the way Christians treat each other could be just as powerful to showing others God's love?
