A lot took place since my (so called) "Medical Miracle" was recorded in 2008, and its about `3 years since my multiple Blue Lines over a week.  Dunno, missed it.  Was in a meeting with The Big Boys above myself.  Whoa and WoW. I soon joined and New Staff and way of recording shows to and about Brain Injury survivors, the FIRST of its kind. Ya Dee Ya Dee, but Ive met, been educated, listened to and talked to a LOT of interested folks. Turkey Stressers:  If Stuffed, back home again was a stress test, I passed.  No fuss, no granted ways.  Not a Black Friday Dude,  so I remained Mixed on the shopping holiday.   Thinking, brain scattered amongst the clutter., thoughts.  I know better, than to ''go there''.   Feeling "beside an open fire" (once again) since I've changed CG's,  this chestnut is roasted.  Sure,  Sue and 'us' seem to be getting there, so to speak, but there seems to be a lot to speak about.  Consise is not my BI strong point. Job #2; Trees have been cut - there is a house in there!   A house under repair,  my Goofy idea repair as I was left to mind the business of doing so fully, hole to completion.    My ultra busy mind found it's busy mind,  and in full wonderment (minus the repair folks I wanted) .  But its getting done, by good fellers. Stressed #1 was  my daughter, a new precious mother of a beyond precious son, and an old man's  POA (mom)  to boot.   Busy mistaken recovery, spent week seeing docs for both of us. The old guy wishes to share life, liberty and the pursuit of America, before it is lost - my "mind" that is.  Full Time Stresser. But first Grampa, er,  "DuPa" gets to teach baseball to the youn'in in my Old School Hardball ways, with a controlled coping skilled mind along the way. baseball is life, and life is baseball.   Hey TEAM!  We get worse, we get better.  Peat and Repeat are are best friends (besides, me)  Ask this blessed mess... I wish IMPEACHMENT was my biggest worry.  A sudden, out of the blue, for whatever 'fault' given immediant attack on your life, your brain, your thoughts and ideas, gone in a flash, as my dear colleague Kim Justice would offer changes you, makes you relearn, and relearn again.  You do things right.  Its your new  pledge to mankind.     Sorry, but myself, 29 operations later, I'd rather eat a plate of Impeachment with left overs for as long as I'm fed.  Some days I'm just fed up, witnessing the American Way turning this way and that way.   So, why it still in favoritable effect, VOTE this Tuesday, 6 am to 6 pm at your local polling station,  most are voting for local officials - school boards, trustee's, Mayors and Town Committees.  If your dog gets loose, who do you want to pick it up - safely?  Local elections very important and usually impeachment free! Your vote counts very much so in local elections, don't pass it by as you watch the church bus fill up voters at the polls.  Stop and vote, take a break in the day of being American. Understanding what we never imagined; seeing the ways of others ways but not ours.   It's a brain injury bonus, and a slippery Slope to ski down.   Nothing is imaginary, (OK, for most survivors) yet feeling lifeless is what others around us will make us  feel - lifeless. Choices, decisions and ''ways'' are no longer ours, but we do have a say (don't we?). That's because in most cases, those particular 'others' are inside their own minds,  providing reactionary thoughts - not necessarily  helpful thoughts.   They are ''busy'' in the day of life, we are just 'busy' searching for our life. None of these actions  are understood in  logical reasons to another,  and what exactly is logical? Caregivers along with Survivors in need will ever  work an easy to accomplish goal, again, exactly what is an accomplishment? Slow down, slow them down,  take the time, no matter how much time it takes,  to find a mutually accepted  end result, my friends. Of , we can continue to loose our minds because we are not for sure how to Cope  with the  message that have become confusing.   And they are SO, SO, so tired of listening to us, so we talk and ears don't listen.... The World Wide Connections of Traumatic Brain Injury Understanding is the goal of myself, and so many interesting people. If, I could speak another language except Hoosier-American... I simply was asked, applied and was hired.  Just 2 years into a TBI that gained the title of STBI - a dead man waking.   The talking seemed imortant .  IU Health, mainly Dr. Scott Bjerke had other ideas.  My 'issue' was called a miracle by so many medical voices as I simply thought of being asleep.  I guess 54 days of sleeping was more than many could bare.   Not me, I mean, yes soreness abounded, wasn't comprehending any more than "those people over my bed".   Trying to tell everyone that would listen, just to smile again, don't worry about me.  No one would listen, ever.  I saw them, they didn't see me.  I begged our God to allow me to let me put smiles on peoples faces, the ones in comma's need happy looks, not so sad as if someone special had died!  I wasn't aware as of yet, the person was me.     I saw my father's very noticeable 'grin', and in my soul, we was OK.  "Look's like a pretty rough road ahead," Dad admitted.   And as history and him would tell me - "at least there's a road, though..."  Woodrow Duffin, Sr. was of my first run of  Co-Hosts 9 years ago.  Craig Sicillia opened God's door for us...Brain Injury Coping Skills is my specialty.  Uh, do as I say, not as I do, kinda knowledge***   (424) 243-9540 allows any person on earth, from Chile` to Nuuk, Greenland and all the world -but Mongolia  - inbetween... Full week kinda got me, but we had a blast, and fall out.  Mercadi took me to Neuro Study, while her and Jenn walked the Malls, I took a a 6-hour neuro psych exam.  Of those and alike tests taken before, NEVER in one day.  It got me, took me down Saturday.  Friday the 'normal' visit to my Behavior Counselor completed a full week of Doc's.  Jenn saw Doc after Doc last week too, finally getting the help she needed.  Switching state residence with a TBI, or any illness ''takes some time, but your illness doesn't go on hold."  We learned some ropes. #1 - patience. On TMDS tomorrow night,  you and Jennifer havee the stage.  Seizure avoidance, Dr Backhouse calls it.  Solid, enjoyable weekend to all my fellow Vets, those on Active Duty and those thinking about 'The Land of the Free.'  Jennifer, Mercadi and i did The Brain Mechanics television show with a lot of insiration given by Caleb Smith and Parks Director Denise Rhetz. She'll discus this week on a remarkable project Richmond Parks and Rec and students from Earlham College. They invented a sensory park!!! A wonderful playground for able and disabled children.  A park to make it happen.   This park had so much to offer to the public . From 6 months to 99 years old, everyone has a safe place. Jennifer will take you through this amazing park and tell you other things and places safe for time and discuss what "WE" can do to ease autism and disabilities...

With my co host on a huge mental delay, let's discuss being a custodial parent not allowed its child.  Alabama courts met these eyes for the first time.  Wild and weird for this ex-MAA who spent much time in Military Court Rooms.  I've been to Indiana court rooms too, many times.  Ohio too, and D.C.   Never is a court room nice to visit or experience (unless your me), but for the first time I actually looked in parking lot for animal control truck to be holding a kangaroo. I hobbled away with the badged hoopers - but safely.  Eventually.  WAIT until you hear this story about the respect shown to a brain injury  couple.  Alabama, now I see where jeff  Session's  law work was formed from, "the good ol' boys''. Speaking of good ol boys - how about your Houston Astros!  I've been telling you, now you saw for yourself.  But don't peek into the 'Bama court system if you re looking for assistance or help for the Mentally Disbled - they'll just look for your gun.  No gun, but my leg was found. Been screwed over by a child court because of your tbi/abi?  Perhaps a true system is needed, where officials begin the day picking out nice, clean clothes to wear to work.  My mother would destroy me if I adressed a court room such ways.  And that was just my morning.  After the devil slipped over from Georgia at sunrise, Indiana and a World Series CHAMPIONSHIP closed out the long, unbelievable day.   Not UNREALISTIC, we save that for belief... CTE deaths follow a long, confusing life span.  Bangs to the head are NEVER a good thing.  Some sports protect the noggin as best the can, but is it good enough.  A brain injury lives on the edge.  I dance along, trusting my Angels to keep me straight....

Vegas followd Hurracane's in destructing our peace as Americans.  Our National Capitol seems very confused, if not under indictments with all the glamor of an apprentice. Kneel or Stand became life or limb in the new home of an NFL franchise.  America didn't seem as concerned about deciding who is right, and who is wrong this week over the mass shootings, but yet, loudly ran those conservative, Trump pandering mouths during the Puerto Rico crisis.  Uh, the Island IS AMERICA, you love it, right?  Don't discard the Island - Senator Strom Thurmand (R-SC) is the blame, a hidden blame, for the finanacial downfall of the 3.5 million residents home.  Unlike Texas has, or many other states - they have no form of bankrupt - except to be broke.   Yet President-selected Trump believes money comes first, overlooking the destruction, trauma and hurt society.  The lies, as did with Nixon, are catching up.  This is The Matt Duffin Show - NOT FAKE NEWS... Many American's watched or are watching the NFL, either privately or openly.   Home or Fantasy Team action - folks plan a year ahead to follow thier team.   Some will watch players pre-game displays of the National Anthem, but very, VERY few paid $200 of so, to watch Francis Scott Key's song be played.  Blame the pre-game 'information' on the NFL and a divided America, not all the players as one.    Make a rule to "Abide" as you feel Americans should, or live with it.  It's not Constitutional Right, or a Protest - simply just living free (unless WORK says different.  Money, not a President takes presidence.   We 'may' have a Bill of Rights attorney with a lot of sheep skins explaining. BTW: Jen's doing Fire Safety night, and I'll cover some Anthem info.  Get into football safety, some military input, VA input and my non-Putin advice on political safety (stay away from public opinion matters) on TMDS.  Hoping a Marine with a view joins us - he's pretty smart. Unlucky 13 ended up pretty lucky for me.   Let's do some math skills, TBI wise.  1 appendix removal at 12;  27 surgery's since 2008, the "Year of The Wreck." Now, as of Friday afternoon - 13 of those total surgery proceedures have been ''done'' in the last 5 years.  Angioplasti something again and my blood is flowing best it has in a couple years - at least by my strong guess.  You see, once brain injury recovery in the early years - its not over.  New and fresh chronic issues 'pop' up, or simply 'scare tissue' developed around your wounded brain cells, or dead brain cells.   28 times under the bright lights of an O.R. - "Hi, I'm Matt Duffin."  Watching the Browns VS the Colts.  (Oh boy - talk about pee-ewe!  Someone has to win, I suppose.  Go Horse!) August 16, 2008:  "A day of intamacy'' Having a good, good time after a looooong week of work, officially - 6 times - I killed myself.  Unrealistic Belief became the prayer of my world for a week, then 'yank' I was pulled off ''the machine''.  As all the family, friends and minister circled my bed, a funny thing happened.  I lived.   Funnier, my father MADE me live for the following years.  Misunderstood understandings allowed an unrealistic belief recovery, with a smile.  God took the beer out of my hands, and a smile on my face. Five years on Brain Injury Radio, I've been wishing a smile comes on yours. My throat is soar/rough/crackly.  The trouble is not in your set. Let's discuss rehabilitaion post "the magic 18 month" period, patient sights of improvements as BI's eventually fall into traps.  Social, family, health administrations and the options of 'those folks' being not as considerate. A psycology student and single mother stepped in a parking lot's unmarked hole and quickly banged her head on the pavement.  Broke her arm and suffered a major concussion with life time conditions, so the docs said.  Months later.  It took WEEKS to discover she also broke her arm.  Possibly the head injury personally ignoring it, because it was busy?   Her son suffered a motorcycle wreck - 4 men lifted the car off him.  What a story.  And more.  Her brain injury recovered to assist cancer survivors as her son lived on through various surgeries.  Her younger daughter kept her eye out on both. He's now in college.  How? Yep, at the fine age of 57, old #34 once again is shooting to be the Opening Day starting pitcher for the Rangers (hint hint)

Life 'changes' with a brain injury, it's a fact.  Comfortability isn't home, if in fact this place is home?  How DO the loved ones 'gear up' for the long battles ahead?  Is it help, listening, working and understanding?  Or is it time for a life change in total body and soul?   Personally, I moved back and purchased the house I was raised in - the first time.  I was as comfy with my father as a survivor can be.  Yet, the struggles, the fight, the battles wasn't familier, just the surroundings.  Dad was fantastic in my recovery early on, wonderful.  As he passed on, more than dad left with him.  My leader, my corritive human and my accomplice left MY team.  I have to battle on, in 'normal' Matt Duffin surroundings, 'Down on Main Street'. Jennifer Goodman takes over, I'm kinda hurt.  Seizure in the sun took me out yesterday.  BUT, I'll be around.   Had a great week, until yesterday -  then.  Summer Time Blues. Was I doing too much?  Nah, just trying to walk.  I will - someday. Fireworks... Love them,hate them? Too bright? Too Loud? Too many people? Children?   The fireworks didnt seem to bother Matt as much as it did me. Last night Matt , I and his daughter went to Cambridge City Fireworks, a local celebration. Yes, an excellent show. Beautiful, spectacular colors, and sparkles galore. BUT, after an hour the brightness gave me a headache and those booms didnt help either. How do you handle this time of year? Rockin' into the summer.  RHI Ski Days are Wed and Thur.  We're set to do Thursday, but I'll check the weather first.  Indiana is FINALLY blooming into beautiful, 'Globle Warming' wise for the season.  Hope you're weather is fine too.  Gonna talk brain washing, with a clean rag, and climate control. The last is easy - we can't.  Brain washing?  Oh my, the words out of my lips tonight.  Should be illegal - a brain wash, and sometimes my mouth.  But with a TBI?  Be it family or friend, its unrightous and wrong.  Period.  Watch that back, sides and front at ALL times, but be nice in doing so.  Yep, its a trick to life skills.  "Kill them with kindness" someone said once.  Twice? Memorial Day.  We remember our fallen hero's of war, and occasionally peace.  This is America afterall, Land of the free, home of the brave and country built by war.  We also understand that Memorial Day helped put both itself and the Indianapolis 500 on the holiday maps.  300,000 folks in one spot, it's certainly a Memorial.  NASCAR joined the Memorial race rally with it's All Star event - the World 600.   Picnic cookout at Matt's house today.  Jennifer, yes THAT Jennifer Goodman did most of the cooking, er, grilling, and we thank her gratefully in Milton.  I believe she understands how much she is appreciated with open arms and warm hearts.  And, then there's me.   Hoping for John Mills, TransAm Race Car driver near to our heart opens with us tonight at 10:15 or close.  Let's talk to a real race car driver on such a racing day.   The Downtown Milton Studio is 90% back in gear!  However, the 10% in question, may cause us problems.  Then again, this 3.4% of Survival of a life usually causes us problems.  BUT, I do it for us, because ----------- WE CAN.   Yes, Jennifer is IN THE HOUSE, but taking a break from the Air Waves.  It's all good, we learn, we grow, and we jump back in the saddle, when ready to ride that is.
