The Word - God Said - “Hear The Word, Do The Word” - James 1
The Word - God Said - “Hear The Word, Do The Word” - James 11. “...for you know that the testing of your faith produces…”2. “...ask in faith, with no doubting…”3. “...lowly brother boast in his exaltation, and the rich in his humiliation,...”4. “But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire.”5. “Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth,...”6. To Do the Word requires the Word to be implanted in you. Hebrews 10:16 - “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,”- James 1:19-21 - “Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.7. To do the Word requires that you not only hear but to act on it. - Deuteronomy 8:1 - “The whole commandment that I command you today vyou shall be careful to do, that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land that the Lord swore to give to your fathers."- James 1:22-25 - “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.”8. Pure religion is to be a Doer of the Word. - James 4:17 - “So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.”- James 1:26-27 - “If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless. 27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”

The Word - God Said - “To Love Is To Obey” - John 14
The Word - God Said - “To Love Is To Obey” John 141. To obey Christ is to Love Christ. - Joshua 22:5 - “Only be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, and to walk in all his ways and to keep his commandments and to cling to him and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.”- John 14:16-17 - “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.2. To Love Christ is to obey the Gospel. - Ecclesiastes 12:13 - “The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man."- John 14:18-21 - “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”3. The Father Loves those who Love Christ and obey His Word. - John 15:10 - “If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.”- John 14:22-24 - “Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, “Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him. 24 Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.”4. Those who Love Christ have been given the Holy Spirit to keep and learn God’s Word! - Psalm 143:10 - “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!”- John 14:25-31 - “These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. 28 You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced, because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe. 30 I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming. He has no claim on me, 31 but I do as the Father has commanded me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Rise, let us go from here.

The Word God Said - “God’s People Only Speak What God Has Already Said” - Jeremiah 1:1-12
READ: Jeremiah 1:1-12, John 12:44-50 - 1. God is the only one who sends His word. Christ is the word sent.- John 1:14 - "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son[d] from the Father, full of grace and truth."- Jeremiah 1:1-3 - “The words of Jeremiah, the son of Hilkiah, one of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin, 2 to whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign. 3 It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, and until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the captivity of Jerusalem in the fifth month.2. God is the only one who appoints those who speak on His behalf not man. - John 12:44-45 - "And Jesus cried out and said, “Whoever believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. 45 And whoever sees me sees him who sent me."- Jeremiah 1:4-6 - “Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” 6 Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am only a youth.”3. The one whom God sends speaks only what the Lord commands and nothing else.- John 12:46 - “I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness.”- Jeremiah 1:7-8 - “But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am only a youth’; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.”4. The word of God is the has final authority over all things. By it God sets free and judges, gives life and destroys!- John 12:47-48 - “If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. 48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.”- Jeremiah 1:9-10 - “Then the Lord put out his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me, “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth. 10 See, I have set you this day over nations and over kingdoms, to pluck up and to break down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.”5. God watches over His word to accomplish and succeed in which He sent it!- John 12:49-50 - “For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment - what to say and what to speak. 50 And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore, I say as the Father has told me.”- Jeremiah 1:11-12 - “And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see an almond branch.” 12 Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am watching over my word to perform it.”

The Word, “God Said “ - Exodus 20,32, 34
READ: Exodus 20 - 1. GOD speaks His law and commands Israel to obey. - Exodus 20:1-6 - “And God spoke all these words, saying, 2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 3 “You shall have no other gods before me. 4 “You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. 5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.”2. GOD warns Israel and says, “Do not make gods of silver or gold to be with me.” - Exodus 20:18-24 - “Now when all the people saw the thunder and the flashes of lightning and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking, the people were afraid and trembled, and they stood far off 19 and said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we will listen; but do not let God speak to us, lest we die.” 20 Moses said to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.” 21 The people stood far off, while Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was. 22 And the Lord said to Moses, “Thus you shall say to the people of Israel: ‘You have seen for yourselves that I have talked with you from heaven. 23 You shall not make gods of silver to be with me, nor shall you make for yourselves gods of gold. 24 An altar of earth you shall make for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you.3. GOD gives Israel His command written by His own finger! - Exodus 31:18: - “And he gave to Moses, when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.”4. God writes on the tablets that Moses cuts out with his hands because He broke the ones that the LORD had made with His own finger! - Exodus 34:1-4 - “The Lord said to Moses, 'Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. 2 Be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the top of the mountain. 3 No one shall come up with you, and let no one be seen throughout all the mountain. Let no flocks or herds graze opposite that mountain.” 4 So Moses cut two tablets of stone like the first. And he rose early in the morning and went up on Mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him, and took in his hand two tablets of stone.”5. The same gift of Faith needed and given to believe is the same gift of Faith needed to obey the commands of GOD! - 1 Corinthians 2:12-16 - “Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. 13 And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual. 14 The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 15 The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. 16 “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.- Romans 9:31-32

GOD Said - “Incline Your Ear, And Come To Me” - Isaiah 55
READ: Isaiah 55 - 1. Are you Hungry and Thirsty? Come, He does satisfy.- John 6:35:- Isaiah 55:1-2a - “Come (yalak: refers to a starting point; summons to start here), everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come (yalak), buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2 Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy (saba: fulfill, be filled)?2. How does He satisfy His people? Listen diligently, Incline, and Hear: He has glorified His people. - John 8:45-47- Isaiah 55:2b-5 - “Listen diligently (sama: hear intently; act in your hearing; be obedient; do what God says) to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. 3 Incline (nata: turn to obedience) your ear, and come (yalak) to me; hear, (sama) that your soul may live; and I will make with you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David. 4 Behold, I made him a witness (ayd: testimony; evidence) to the peoples, a leader and commander for the peoples. 5... he has glorified you.3. Do you seek the Lord, and have you called on His name? He hears and forgives. He does not forsake those who truly seek Him! - Psalm 9:9-10- Isaiah 55:6-7 - “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon (summon for help; repent) him while he is near; 7 let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that He may have compassion on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.4. GOD’s word does accomplish that which He purposes, and shall succeed in the thing for which He sent it! - Deuteronomy 8:3- Isaiah 55:8-11 - “For My thoughts (plans or devises) are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.... 11 so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.5. Blessed are those who Come hungry and hungry, who Listen, Incline, and Hear to hear His word, who Seek the Lord with all their heart and Call upon Him, for they lack no good thing and Know fully that His word will accomplish and succeed in which He sent it! - Matthew 6:33- Isaiah 55:12-13 - “For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress; instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall make a name for the Lord, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”

1 Corinthians 3 - The Gospel Lived In The Church
The Gospel Lived In The ChurchREAD: 1 Corinthians 3 - True Spiritual Maturity is seen in how we live amongst one another. - John 13:34-35- 1 Corinthians 3:1-3 - “But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual (governed by the Spirit) people, but as people of the flesh, (worldly, sinful) as infants (childish, untaught, unskilled) in Christ. 2 I fed (offer water, teaching easy to understand) you with milk, (simple truths) not solid food, (that which delights and truly satisfies the mind) for you were not ready for it. And even now you are not yet ready, 3 for you are still of the flesh. For while there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not of the flesh and behaving only in a human way?”All of God’s people are one in Christ; no one is more valued than the other. - Galatians 3:28- 1 Corinthians 3:4-9 - “For when one says, 'I follow Paul,' and another, 'I follow Apollos,' are you not being merely human? ...6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. 7 So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. ...9 For we are God's fellow workers. (co-laborer, associate, helper) You are God's field, (cultivated field, farm land) God's building.” (structure, His temple)God will not only judge our lives lived in service but especially on how we work, care, and guard His church, His people. - Galatians 6:10- 1 Corinthians 3:10-17 - “According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. 11 For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— 13 each one's work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. 14 If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. ...16 Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? 17 If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.”Since all things concern God’s people, we must become fools so that we may become wise. Wisdom is to be skilled in the ways of God. - Ephesians 5:15-17- 1 Corinthians 3:18-23 - “Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you thinks that he is wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” ...21 So let no one boast in men. For all things are yours, (all things concern you) ...all are yours, (all concern you) 23 and you are Christ's, (you are in Christ) and Christ is God's. (Christ is God)

The Tongue - The Fig and The Olive - James 3
READ: James 3 - Bit for horses, rudder for ships, and the tongue for the mouth, only one is a restless evil by which man can not tame. - Proverbs 13:3- James 3:1-5 - “...we who teach will be judged with greater strictness. 2 For we all stumble in many ways. ... 3 If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. 4 Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. 5 So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things.”The tongue is a matchstick; one wrong word can set an entire city ablaze. - Proverbs 18:4- James 3:5-6 - “How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue ... set on fire by hell.”God designed the tongue to speak truth and life, but by the corruption of sin, it can be used as a weapon of mass destruction. - Proverbs 18:21- James 3:7-12 - “For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, 8 but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our Lord and Father, ... 10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so. 11 Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and salt water? 12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.”Those who claim the name of Christ must speak life and healing and are quick to avoid speaking evil. - Proverbs 10:11-12- James 3:13-18 - “Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. 15 This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. (resembles evil, demon-like) 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, (immaculate) then peaceable, (loving peace) gentle,(fair, mild) open to reason, (easily obeys, compliant) full of mercy (kindness and goodwill) and good fruits, (acts or works that come from the Spirit) impartial (free from prejudice) and sincere. (genuine, no hypocrisy, of good character, no pretense or pride) 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in (the family and others) peace (harmony, tranquility among the brethren) by those who make peace.”

1 Corinthians 1 - The Gospel Lived In The Church
READ: 1 Corinthians 1:1-17 - The privilege and joy of being in God’s family is solely due to His will, work, and glory. - Hebrews 10:14- 1 Corinthians 1:1-3 - “Paul, called by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and our brother Sosthenes, 2 To the church of God [God’s church - owner of His people] that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus,(the purified or concecrated ones) called to be saints (given the privilege to be a holy one) together with all those who (believers) in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours: 3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. The Father has provided everything we need in Christ to abound in Word and Truth for the Gospel and Life. - 2 Peter 1:3-4- 1 Corinthians 1:4-8 - “I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus, (the favor of God delivered in Christ to you) 5 that in every way you were enriched (richly furnished) in him in all speech (logos: word) and all knowledge (gnosis: knowledge of truth)— 6 even as the testimony (evidence, proof) about Christ was confirmed among you— so that you are not lacking in any gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 8 who will sustain (keep, make firm) you to the end, guiltless (free from accusation) in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Father, who is faithful and has called us into fellowship with the Son, commands His people to be faithful in fellowship with one another by having the Mind of Christ. - 1 Corinthians 2:16- 1 Corinthians 1:9-17 - “God is faithful, by whom you were called (summoned by the King) into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. 10 I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, (be sure, certain of the faith) and that there be no divisions (dissensions, damage the unity) among you, but that you be united (united completely) in the same (His - [immutable]) mind (nous: think like Christ [not the same as Phil. 2:2,5 - phroneo: regard, set one’s mind on) and the same (His) judgment. (Christ's view or opinion)11 “For it has been reported to me by Chloe's people that there is quarreling among you, my brothers. 12 What I mean is that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” or “I follow Apollos,” or “I follow Cephas,” or “I follow Christ.” 13 Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15 so that no one may say that you were baptized in my name. 16 (I did baptize also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized anyone else.) 17 For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

Love His Things: The Heart Of A Steward - Luke 19:11-27
Love His Things: The Heart Of A Steward "Fundamentally, stewardship is about exercising our God-given dominion over His creation, reflecting the image of our creator God in His care, responsibility, maintenance, protection, and beautification of His creation.”- RC Sproul - Genesis 1:26 - "...And let them have dominion ..." - Genesis 2:15 - "...work it and keep it.”"The true steward is put in trust with his master's property, first, to protect it. Oh, with what earnestness ought we to guard the gospel of Christ! With what holy valour ought we to contend earnestly for the faith once for all delivered to the saints! “Hold fast the form of sound words,” wrote Paul to Timothy; not only the words, but the particular form of them which the apostle had delivered; not merely sound doctrine, but the very words in which those doctrines had been made to take shape. The true steward is to defend his master's treasure with his very life. The Lord has put us in trust with the gospel, and all the people of God, in their measure, have also become trustees of those inestimably precious doctrines wherein will be found the glory of God and the salvation of the sons of men. So we are to defend our Master's property.” - Charles SpergeonREAD: 1 Corinthians 4:1-2 A steward is to do the will of the master and freely share what the master has given. 1 Corinthians 4:1 & 1 Peter 4:1-11 Stewards do not need a thank you to care for and manage God's things. 1 Corinthians 4:2 - Luke 17:1-10 - "..." Temptations to sin are sure to come,..."Increase our faith!" ...servant plowing or keeping sheep ... servant... 10 So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.'”A Steward is busy caring, growing, and managing the master's things. - Matthew 7:21- Luke 19:11-27 - "...A nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and then return. 13 Calling ten of his servants, he gave them ... 15 When he returned, having received the kingdom, he ordered these servants to whom he had given the money to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by doing business. 16 The first ...17 And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’ 18 And the second ... ‘And you are to be over five cities.’ 20 Then another came, saying, ‘Lord, here is your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief; 21 for I was afraid of you, because you are a severe man. You take what you did not deposit, and reap what you did not sow.’ 22 He said to him, ‘I will condemn you with your own words, you wicked servant! You knew that I was a severe man, taking what I did not deposit and reaping what I did not sow? 23 Why then did you not put my money in the bank, and at my coming I might have collected it with interest?’ ...26 ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away. 27 But as for these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.’”It’s the steward’s duty to do the will of the master, freely share what the master has given, and be found busy caring, growing, and managing the master's things.

Love His Way, Live His Ways - Isaiah 55:6-11
"Love His Ways: Live His Ways "READ: Isaiah 55:6-11God's ways are seen, heard, and can only be found in His word. The word gives us a clear picture that God's ways are completely and vastly different than ours. Our ways are wicked and desperately sinful. God's ways are Righteous, Good, Perfect, Pure, Holy, and True. - Psalm 18:30 - "This God—his way is perfect; the word of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him."- Psalm 77:13 - Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God?- Psalm 119:132 - Turn to me and be gracious to me, as is your way with those who love your name.God's Way For The Sinner Is beyond Our Understanding. - John 14:5-6 - "Thomas said to him, "Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?" 6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - Romans 11:28-36 - "28...33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways! ..."God's Ways are found only in His Word - Psalm 25:4-5 - "Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. 5 Lead me in your truth and teach me, ..."- 2 Peter 1:3-11 - "3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,... 10 Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. ..."READ: Psalm 18:21 - "...kept the ways of the Lord" Psalm 25:4 - "Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths." Psalm 25:8 - "...he instructs sinners in the way."Psalm 37:23-24 - "...delights in his way"- Psalm 119:1-3 - Blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord! 2 Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, 3 who also do no wrong, but walk in his ways!- Psalm 119:14-15 - "...way of your testimonies I delight...fix my eyes on your ways."- Psalm 119:27 - "Make me understand the way of your precepts, ..."- Psalm 119:30 - "I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I set your rules before me."- Psalm 119:32 - "...run in the way of your commandments..."- Psalm 119:33 - "Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end."- Psalm 119:37 - "...give me life in your ways."- Psalm 128:1 - "... walks in his ways!"- Psalm 86:11 - "Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name."

Love His Word: Delight In His Word… - Psalm 119
“...it is impossible to know God, unless He has been pleased to make Himself known to man. He recognizes the force of Zophar’s question (Job 11:7), “Can you by searching find out God?” It seems utterly impossible to him that man, by his unaided reason, should discover God, and he therefore considers the question, “Has God spoken? (Numbers 23:19” as one of the utmost importance.” - Louis Berkhof 1942What is the Word of God?The revealing of God by Inspiration given through men, as He led them to accurately record and communicate what His character and message, is known as Inspiration of scripture, and the revealing of God in His incarnation through the virgin birth by the power of the Holy Spirit, He is called the Logos, known as the Living Word. 2 Timothy 3:16 and John 1:1 “The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 The Word is the sustainer and giver of life. Matthew 4:4 “But he answered, 'It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” - Psalm 119:93 - “I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life.God has caused and commands us to Love His Word. - John 14:15, Psalm 119:37, 97, 113, 119God commands us to obey His Word - 1 John 2:4-6, Psalm 119:1-4, 44-45God commands us to teach His Word. - Colossians 3:16, Psalm 119:13, Deuteronomy 6:4-9Do you delight in God’s Word?READ: Psalm 119:14,16, 20, 24, 34, 35, 47, 77, 89, 92, 143, 174Psalm 119:151-152, 160, 172

They shall constantly strive to walk worthy of their high calling and seek control of every unholy disposition. The honor, stability, and effectiveness of the church are dependent upon the prayers, labors, and financial support of its members. All members, therefore, are expected to faithfully bear a just portion of the necessary expenses of the church and contribute regularly of their means in proportion as God has prospered them. Envelopes will be provided, and online giving options will be available for this purpose. The Promise: The Budget: RC Sproul said it this way, God instituted, “In order to support the Levites, who had no tribal allocation of land. The Levites were set apart to take care of the spiritual and educational responsibilities of the nation, and their work and physical necessities were paid for by the tithe (Num. 18). Under the new covenant, the tithe continues to support the work of building up people in the truth of God and reaching sinners with the gospel. Christ works through churches, seminaries, parachurch organizations, missionaries, and many others to build and grow His kingdom…'The most important investment we can ever make is in the kingdom of God, because it has eternal returns. These returns are not just for us but also for our family, our children, our grandchildren. This generation of Christians must invest in the things of God for the sake of the next generation.” (RC. Biblical Manhood & Womanhood - 2 Timothy 4 - Living By The Truth In The Days of Apostasy
God’s people must always be ready to proclaim the Gospel to anyone and everyone in all circumstances. - 2 Timothy 4:1-2 - “I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.”God’s people hold to sound doctrine and stand solidly on the Rock of truth. - 2 Timothy 4:3-4 - “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”God’s people work with all diligence not to be found idle when our Lord returns eagerly watching and serving on the great day.- 2 Timothy 3:5-8 - “As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure has come. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.”God will rescue His people and bring us safely home. - 2 Timothy 4:9-21 - “Do your best to come to me soon. 10 For Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. 11 Luke alone is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is very useful to me for ministry. 12 Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus. 13 When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, also the books, and above all the parchments. 14 Alexander the coppersmith did me great harm; the Lord will repay him according to his deeds. 15 Beware of him yourself, for he strongly opposed our message. 16 At my first defense no one came to stand by me, but all deserted me. May it not be charged against them! 17 But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. So I was rescued from the lion's mouth. 18 The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Biblical Manhood & Womanhood - 2 Timothy 3 - Living By The Truth…
God’s people pay attention to the environment they are living in and clearly discern what is happening around them - 2 Timothy 3:1-5 - “But understand (ginosko: know) this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant,(conceited) abusive,(blasphemer) disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,(wicked) 3 heartless,(loveless) unappeasable,(unwilling to reconcile) slanderous, without self-control, brutal,(savage) not loving good, 4 treacherous,(traitor, betrayer) reckless,(rash, thoughtless) swollen with conceit,(stupid with conceit) lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness (looking godly) but denying its power. (1 Corinthians 1:18) Avoid such people.God’s people pay close careful attention to the creepers (diabolos) who come to draw the weak in faith away to entice and entrap them. - 2 Timothy 3:6-9 - “For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, 7 always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind (depraved) and disqualified (rejected) regarding the faith. 9 But they will not get very far, for their folly (senselessness) will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.God’s people are careful to follow proven godly leaders and are secure in what’s to come, knowing Christ will rescue His people.- 2 Timothy 3:10-13 - “You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, and His people) my steadfastness, 11 my persecutions and sufferings that happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra—which persecutions I endured; yet from them all the Lord rescued me.12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. God’s people hold firm to sound doctrine, which they have learned and tested by scripture alone in Christ alone. - 2 Timothy 3:14-15 God’s people learn, test, reform their ways, and grow in the virtue of doctrine through scripture alone by the Holy Spirit guiding us in all truth to accomplish His purpose and plan. - 2 Timothy 3:16-17 -

The King’s Comings: First Coming - The Humble King / Second Coming - The Just King - Matthew 21 & Revelation 19
READ: Matthew 21:1-10Things to take notice:- Matthew Henry writes, “The provision that was made for this dignified rite or royal ceremony was very poor and ordinary, and such as bespoke his kingdom to be not of this world. There were no heralds at arms provided, no trumpet sounded before him, no chariots of state, no royal guards in procession attire; such things as these were not agreeable to his present state of humiliation, but will be far outdone at his second coming, to which his magnificent appearance is reserved, when the last trumpet shall sound, the glorious angels shall be his heralds and attendants, and the clouds his chariots. But in this public appearance,...” Why a Donkey and a Colt?- To fulfill what was written in Zechariah 9:9 - To show He alone is King who has come to judge sin. Like the Judges of Isreal in Judges 5:10, The King of Israel, the Son of God, comes riding a donkey (humble king) and her colt (beast of burden), not as conqueror but as Humble King to judge sin and give His life as a ransom for many. Whom are you seeking?” Supposing Him to be the gardener, she said to Him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to Him in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher). 17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” 18 Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”—and that He had said these things to her.”

Biblical Manhood & Womanhood - 1 Timothy 6:11-20 - Foundations of Biblical Leadership
READ: 1 Timothy 6:3-10Godly Leaders must pursue godliness, hold to the faith, and live obediently. “For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, 7 and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” - 2 Peter 1:5-8- 1 Timothy 6:11-16 - “But as for you, O man of God, flee (fyoo-go: run from all things abhorrent) these things. Pursue (dee-o-ko: seek eagerly, endeavor to acquire) righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. 12 Fight (ag-o-nid-zom-ahee: contend, struggle with difficulties and danger) the good fight (with all things praiseworthy, exert ourselves to the utmost against all things opposed to Christ) of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life (embrase the Life you are given in Christ) to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 13 I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, 14 to keep the commandment (all that God commands) unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 which he will display at the proper time (exact time concerning Himself)—he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.”Godly stewards are committed to doing good, being generous, and sharing all the Lord has given. “Through Him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. 16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” - Hebrews 13:15-16 - 1 Timothy 6:17-19 - “As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. 18 They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, 19 thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation (the foundation laid by the apostles and Christ our cornerstone) for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.”Godly Leaders must preserve all the Lord has entrusted to them. “And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. ”- 1 Corinthians 2:1-2 - 1 Timothy 6:20 - “O Timothy, guard (preserve, keep from being snatched away) the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge,” 21 for by professing it some have swerved from the faith.Grace be with you.”

Biblical Manhood & Womanhood - 1 Timothy 6:1-10 - Foundations of Biblical Leadership - Pt.1
READ: 1 Timothy 5:24-25If you work and have someone whom you answer to, you must, like a slave, honor all, especially those who are brothers, so that no one reviles the faith. “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.” - Romans 12:10- 1 Timothy 6:1-2 - “Let all who are under a yoke as bondservants regard their own masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be reviled. 2 Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful on the ground that they are brothers; rather they must serve all the better since those who benefit by their good service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these things.”Godly men do what we do not for our sake but for yours, that you may grow in the full knowledge of our Savior King. “For we are not, like so many, peddlers of God's word, but as men of sincerity, as commissioned by God, in the sight of God we speak in Christ.” - 2 Corinthians 2:17- 1 Timothy 6:3-5 - “If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words (hygiano logos: true and incorrupt doctrine) of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, (doctrines that promote Christ-likeness) 4 he is puffed up with conceit (too-fa-o: to render foolish or stupid) and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving (nos-eh-o: an ailment of the mind, morbid fondness for) for controversy and for quarrels about words, (trivial and empty things) which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, 5 and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.”We came into this world with nothing, we will leave it the same way. The lack of contentment breeds failure in a Christian's life. “Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” - Philippians 4:11-13- 1 Timothy 6:6-10 - “But godliness with contentment (ouw-tar-ki-ah: sufficiency of Christ in life) is great gain, 7 for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. 8 But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. 9 But those who desire (to have an affection) to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, (pag-ece: allurements and seductions of sin) into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge (to sink into the deep) people into ruin (death) and destruction. (perish with misery) 10 For the love of money is a root (riza: cause, origin, source) of all kinds of evils. (crime, breaking of divine or human law) It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.” (all-consuming pain, sorrow)

Biblical Manhood & Womanhood - 1 Timothy 5:15-25 - Foundations & Expectations of Biblical Leadership
READ: 1 Timothy 5:8-14Cont. - Godly Leaders manage the care of widows and purpose to exhort them to cling to Christ. “Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.” - Psalm 68:5- 1 Timothy 5:15-16 - “15 For some have already strayed after Satan. (adversary) 16 If any believing woman has relatives who are widows, let her care for them. Let the church not be burdened, so that it may care for those who are truly widows. (barren, without care and support, i.e, a city with no inhabitants)Godly Leaders must live consistently for all to see. “Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel.” - Philippians 1:27 - 1 Timothy 5:17-25 - “Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, (respect, reverence) especially those who labor (exhaust oneself; weariness) in preaching and teaching. 18 For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle (close the mouth) an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves (equal in value) his wages.” 19 Do not admit a charge against an elder except on the evidence of two or three witnesses. (Deuteronomy 19:15) 20 As for those who persist in sin, rebuke them in the presence of all, so that the rest may stand in fear. 21 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of the elect angels I charge you to keep these rules without prejudging, doing nothing from partiality. 22 Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, nor take part in the sins of others; keep yourself pure. 23 (No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments.) 24 The sins of some people are conspicuous, (openly evident) going before them to judgment, but the sins of others appear later. (come as they walk, follow after them) 25 So also good works are conspicuous, (openly evident) and even those that are not cannot remain hidden. (Acts 20:26-31 - “Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all, 27 for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God. 28 Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood. 29 I know that after my departure fierce wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; 30 and from among your own selves will arise men speaking twisted things, to draw away the disciples after them. 31 Therefore be alert, remembering that for three years I did not cease night or day to admonish everyone with tears.”)

Biblical Manhood & Womanhood - 1 Timothy 5:1-14 - Foundations of Biblical Leadership - How To Care & Honor Widows
Biblical Manhood & WomanhoodFoundations of Biblical LeadershipHow To Care & Honor Widows Pt.11 Timothy 5:1-14READ: 1 Timothy 4:13-16Godly Leaders are careful to shepherd, not only in action, but especially with words. “You shall stand up before the gray head and honor the face of an old man, and you shall fear your God: I am the Lord.” - Leviticus 19:32- 1 Timothy 5:1-2 - “Do not rebuke (chastise with your words) an older man but encourage him as you would a father, younger men as brothers, 2 older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, in all purity.” (sinlessness in life)Godly Leaders manage the care of widows and purpose to exhort them to cling to Christ. “Father of the fatherless and protector of widows is God in his holy habitation.” - Psalm 68:5- 1 Timothy 5:3-16 - “Honor (tim-ah-o: to revere, venerate) widows (khay-rah: barren, without care and support, i.e - a city with no inhabitants) who are truly widows. 4 But if a widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show godliness to their own household (to act piously, reverently with their family) and to make some return to their parents, for this is pleasing in the sight of God. 5 She who is truly a widow, left all alone, has set her hope on God and continues in supplications (seeking, asking, entreating) and prayers (address God) night and day, 6 but she who is self-indulgent (spat-al-ah-o: give oneself to pleasure) is dead even while she lives. (zao thnay-sko: to live without life) 7 Command these things as well, so that they may be without reproach. 8 But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.” Let a widow be enrolled (choose to be listed for cared) if she is not less than sixty years of age, having been the wife of one husband, 10 and having a reputation for good works: if she has brought up children, has shown hospitality, has washed the feet of the saints, has cared for the afflicted, and has devoted herself to every good work. 11 But refuse to enroll younger widows, for when their passions (the want to act on the impulse of sexual desire) draw them away from Christ, they desire to marry 12 and so incur condemnation (judegment of God) for having abandoned their former faith. (been- previously reliable, pristinely faithful, not pulled away) 13 Besides that, they learn to be idlers, (inactive, at leisure) going about from house to house, and not only idlers, (going about the home alone and inactive, not taking care of her responsibilities) but also gossips (babbling, talking and doing silly things) and busybodies, saying what they should not. (neglecting the important things and busy not minding their own business) 14 So I would have younger widows marry, bear children, manage their households, (oy-kay-dos-po-teo: manage family affairs) and give the (an) adversary no occasion for slander.

Biblical Manhood & Womanhood - How Men Of God Must Lead - 1 Timothy 4 - 1 Tim. 4:1-5 “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times (a fixed time) some (certain ones) will depart (withdrawal oneself) from the faith (Gospel) by devoting (cleave) themselves to deceitful spirits (actuated or moved by, attitude, disposition) and teachings of demons,(teachings disseminated by evil spirits and seducing people from the truth) 2 through the insincerity of liars (lies, false teachings) whose consciences are seared, (conscience is burned in with a branding iron)[see 1 Tim 1:5-7] 3 who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods (a false sense of a high moral standard) that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.”- 1 Tim. 4:6-7a “If you put these things (supply these instructions) before the brothers, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, being trained (to educate, form the mind) in the words of the faith and of the good doctrine (teachings of Christ) that you have followed. (conform oneself to) 7 Have nothing to do with irreverent, (profane) silly (grandma, old womanish) myths.” (falsehood)- 1 Tim. 4:7b-11 “Rather train yourself for godliness; (purpose to exercise vigorously the mind to become godly) 8 for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come. (more perfect state of things) 9 The saying (vs. 7&8) is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. 10 For to this end we toil (labor) and strive, (contend) because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially (chiefly) of those who believe. (believers) 11 Command and teach these things. ”- 1 Tim. 4:12-16 “Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. 13 Until I come, devote (devote thought and effort) yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation, to teaching. 14 Do not [imperative statement] neglect the gift (God given power to discharge the office of evangelist) you have, which was given you by prophecy (that which comes through and by the gospel) when the council of elders laid their hands on you. 15 Practice (attend carefully) these things, immerse yourself in them, so that all may see your progress. 16 Keep a close watch on yourself and on the teaching. Persist in this, for by so doing you will save both yourself and your hearers.”

Biblical Manhood & Womanhood - 1 Timothy 3 - Foundations of Biblical Leadership - Men & Women In Church Leadership
- 1 Timothy 3:1-7 - “The saying is trustworthy: If anyone (certain one) aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. (occupation) 2 Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, (clear-headed) self-controlled, (curbing one’s desires and impulses) respectable, (modest) hospitable, (generous to guests) able to teach, 3 not a drunkard, not violent (bruiser) but gentle, not quarrelsome, (not quick to fight) not a lover of money. 4 He must manage (superintend) his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, (obedient) 5 for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God's church? 6 He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit (proud) and fall into (to all among robbers) the condemnation (condemned by God) of the devil. (accuser) 7 Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into a snare (allurements to sin) of the devil.” - 1 Timothy 3:8-13 - “Deacons (to care for needs of the church and steward God’s money) likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued, (saying one thing and something different to another) not addicted (controlled by) to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. 9 They must hold the mystery (embrace and keep the Christian truth of God) of the faith with a clear conscience. (living rightly) 10 And let them also be tested (examine, scrutinize) first; then let them serve (diakoneo: serve) as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. (unaccused) 11 Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, (false accuser) but sober-minded, (clear-headed) faithful in all things. 12 Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well. 13 For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.” - 1 Timothy 3:14-15 - “I hope to come to you soon, but I am writing these things to you so that, 15 if I delay, you may know (well known) how (pos: in what way) one ought (is right and proper) to behave (Christ-like character) in the household (family of God) of God, which is the church of the living God, a pillar (column) and buttress (stable) of the truth.- 1 Timothy 3:16 - “Great indeed, we confess, (by common confession) is the mystery of godliness: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.

READ: 1 Timothy 2God commands all His people to pray, especially men to set the example of a dependent and surrendered life. - Ephesians 6:18 - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 - 1 Timothy 2:1-8 8 I desire (have you know, will deliberately, have purpose) then that in every place (space marked off) the men (aner: a male) should pray, lifting holy hands without anger (wrath) or quarreling; (disputing or arguing what is true)...” - (Psalm 63:4 - “So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.”As men are to set the example of a dependent and surrendered life expressed in lifting holy hands, women must also live a dependent and surrendered life to Christ expressed in modesty. - 1 Peter 3:3-4 - 1 Timothy 2:9-10 - “...likewise also that women should adorn (kos-meh-o: to embellish with honor, adorn) themselves in respectable (kos-mee-os: well-arranged, seemly) apparel, with modesty (eye-doce: a sense of shame out of awe and reverence) and self-control, (so-fros-oo-nay: soundness of mind, sober-minded, sanity) not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, 10 but with what is proper for women who profess godliness (reverence toward God) —with good works.” The beauty of every girl and woman is a heart committed to complementing and partnering for the edification of the family and the church, being lived out according to the role that God assigned. - 1 Peter 3:4-5 - 1 Timothy 2:11-12 - “Let a woman learn quietly (stillness, not a meddler, minding your own business) with all submissiveness. (to arrange one’s self, act of subjecting) 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.” (Women are not to teach nor exercise dominion over men but be quiet. (stillness, not a meddler, minding your own business)Why are women commanded by God to be still, not meddling, willing place them selves in the role assigned (submit), not to teach nor have dominion over a man? Women are designed to complement and partner with their husbands, not to be independent but to be with them. - Genesis 2:18 - 1 Timothy 2:13-15 - “For Adam was formed first, then Eve; (order of things) 14 and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived deceive or beguile with a thing) and became a transgressor. (to go over, disregard, wrongdoing even out of ignorance) 15 Yet she will be saved (be well, be whole) through childbearing—if they continue (cleave, hold fast, not depart) in faith (pistis) and love (agape) and holiness, (hag-ee-os-mos) with self-control.” (so-fros-oo-nay) (She will be well and whole as a mother, a woman of faith, a woman of Love, a woman of holiness, and a sound minded woman if she continues in the role and purpose that God created for her to be) READ: Genesis 3:1-19

READ: 1 Timothy 1:8-20 - “Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, 10 the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, 11 in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.”Grace and mercy are given to the people of God. We all have acted in unbelief, living in opposition to Christ, and we are chosen by Him. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” - Ephesians 2:8-9 - 1 Timothy 1:12-17 - “I thank him who has given me strength, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged (to deem) me faithful, appointing me to his service, 13 though formerly I was a blasphemer, persecutor, and insolent opponent. But I received mercy (specifically of God granting to the unworthy: favor, benefits, opportunities, and particularly salvation by Christ) because I had acted ignorantly (to not know) in unbelief, (by opposition of the Gospel) 14 and the grace of our Lord overflowed (hoo-per-pleh-a-nod-zo: to be exceedingly abundant) for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 15 The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, (Gospel) of whom I am the foremost. (first in rank, chief) 16 But I received mercy for this reason, that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display his perfect patience as an example to those who were to believe in him for eternal life. (READ: 2 Peter 3:9) 17 To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.”Men of God are given a trust, the doctrines of the faith which we all have received through the Gospel, in Christ Jesus. “But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. 12 Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.” - 1 Timothy 6:11-12 - 1 Timothy 1:18-20 - “This charge (the doctrines of Christian living) I entrust to you, Timothy, my child, in accordance with the prophecies (teachings or doctrines of the Gospel) previously made about (preceding or coming from the Gospel) you, that by them you may wage (stra-to-o: to lead soldiers to war or battle) the good warfare, 19 holding faith and a good conscience. (free from guilt and living right) By rejecting (ap-o-thao: thrust away, drive away, repudiate reject, refuse) this, some have made shipwreck of their faith, (suffer shipwreck regarding faith) 20 among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan (deliver to the power of the adversary to be harassed and tormented with evils) that they may learn not to blaspheme.” (to speak reproachfully, rail at, revile, calumniate)

READ: 1 Timothy 1Men of God Are fully committed to sound doctrine and the stewardship of the Gospel and are careful to teach and proclaim the truth of God’s word. “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” - 2 Timothy 2:15 - 1 Timothy 1:3-7 - “As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge (command) certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, (deviating from the truth) 4 nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations (zay-tay-sis: dispute, questioning) rather than the stewardship (knowledge of the things by which God has provided for and prepared salvation which is by faith alone) from God that is by faith. 5 The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6 Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion, (matia-la-gee-a: empty talk)7 desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions.”Men of God live obediently and purpose to walk with Christ continually. “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done in love.” - 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 - 1 Timothy 1:8-11 - Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, 10 the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, 11 in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.

Christ the True and Better - Hebrews 13 - Christ Never Changes
Heart committed to Loving Christ is a heart committed to obeying Him. “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.” - Ephesians 5:15-16 - Hebrews 13:1-6You know a Pastor is a Man of God by how he exemplifies Christ in the way he lives. “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” - Ephesians 5:1-2 - Hebrews 13:7-9The old way was fleeting and temporary. The new way, Christ, is permanent and eternal. “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” - John 14:1-4 - Hebrews 13:10-14“I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. 3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!” - Psalm 34:1-3 “...preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.” - 2 Timothy 4:2 - Hebrews 13:15-16“So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: 2 shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; 3 not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.” 1 Peter 5:1-3 “Let the elders who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. 18 For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.” - 1 Timothy 5:17-18 - Hebrews 13:17-19“...for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13 “...to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ,” - Ephesians 4:12 - Hebrews 13:20-25 -

Christ the True and Better - Hebrews 12 - Christ The Founder and Perfecter Of Our Faith
We run the race not for a place in heaven, but we run for the prize who is the Founder and Perfecter of our faith, Jesus. - FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 12:1-4 - “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, (a great dense multitude of spectators in a historical sense are witnesses to how we run the race) let us also lay aside every weight,(burden, mass) and sin (hamartia: miss the mark) which clings (besetting, to prevent running) so closely, and let us run (trecho: to exert, strive hard, spend all one’s strength to attain something) with endurance the race that is set before us, (to exert ourselves like a runner in a contest to attain the goal of perfection we are destined for) 2 looking to (to turn our eyes away from distractions and to fix them on Christ our prize) Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. 4 In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood.Repentance is not enough for salvation. Salvation is through faith alone in Christ Alone. Repentance is a result of transformation. - Hebrews 12:5-17 - FOCUS SCRIPTURE: 17 For you know that afterward, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no chance to repent, though he sought it with tears. We must obey and never ignore God speaking through His word. Like Moses our attitude must be “I tremble with fear”. Everything will be shaken off its foundations and Christ’s Kingdom will be the only thing left standing. - Hebrews 12:18-21 - FOCUS SCRIPTURE: 28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, 29 for our God is a consuming fire.

Christ the True and Better - Hebrews 10:32 - 11:40 - Christ Our True Faith
When you live in confidence, hold fast, not neglecting one another in love, and walk in obedience and holiness with our King you will joyfully give everything to and for Him even your life in death and suffering. - Hebrews 10:32-34 - “But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened,(photizo: imbue, permeate with saving knowledge) you endured a hard struggle with sufferings, 33 sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated. 34 For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one.”If anyone throws away their confidence, does not hold fast to their hope, neglects the brotherhood in love, and walks in disobedience and unholiness, they will receive what was always intended for them destruction, God has no pleasure in them. But the righteous will live by faith. - Hebrews 10:35-39 - “Therefore do not throw away (apoballo: throw off, cast away agament) your confidence, which has a great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. 37 For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; 38 but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, (be timid, cower, shrink, hesitating to avow what they believe) my soul has no pleasure in him.”39 “But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.”Faith, the gift of God, is to know with firm trust and full assurance in God’s word by which we are fully convinced without wavering. - FOCUS SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 11:1-3 - “Now faith is the assurance (hoo-pos-ta-sis: confidence, firm trust, assurance) of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation. (accredited) 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.”Faith before the flood. - Hebrews 11:4-7Faith after the flood. - Hebrews 11:8-12Faith of pre and post-flood is the same Faith given to us today. - Hebrews 11:12-16Godly men of old by Faith believed God and obeyed - Hebrews 11:17-22Faith before the exodus - Hebrews 11:23-28Faith after the exodus - Hebrews 11:29-31 It has always been by Faith Alone - Hebrews 11:32-40 - FOCUS SCRIPTURE: 39 And all these, though commended through their faith, did not receive what was promised, 40 since God had provided something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect.

Christ the True and Better - Hebrews 6:13-20 - The True and Better High Priest - Christ Our Promised Forever High Priest - pt.6
Christ the True and BetterThe True and Better High PriestChrist Our Promised Forever High PriestHebrews 6:13-20 pt.6READ: Hebrews 6:9-12All of God’s promises are guaranteed due to who He is, He is His greatest witness. “For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.” - 2 Corinthians 1:20 - Hebrews 6:13-14 - “For when God made a promise (epan-gello-mai: to engage) to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear,(om-noo-o: to swear to call a person as a witness) he swore by himself, 14 saying, “Surely I will bless you and multiply you.”Know with full confidence that God will fulfill His promise, HE guarantees it. “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?” - Numbers 23:19 - Hebrews 6:15 - “And thus Abraham, having patiently waited, (persevere patiently and bravely in enduring misfortunes and troubles) obtained the promise.”You can fully rely on His promises, He has made an oath. His word is His bond. “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” Numbers 23:19 - Hebrews 6:16-18 - “For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes an oath is final for confirmation. 17 So when God desired (bulla-my: to will deliberately, have a purpose, be minded) to show more convincingly to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable (immutable) character of his purpose, he guaranteed (messy-to-o: to act as mediator, to mediate, and act as surety by pledging one’s self) it with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable (immutable) things, (pragma: that which has been done, a deed, an accomplished act) in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement (paraklesis: consolation, comfort, solace) to hold fast (not let go but to keep carefully and faithfully) to the hope set before us.”Christ is our anchor, our sure and steadfast hope. Christ has fulfilled the righteous requirements of the High Priest for His people. He alone is our High Priest forever. - Hebrews 6:19-20 - “We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor (stable firm safeguard) of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.”How has Christ Fulfilled these requirements as High Priest?Numbers 28:1-4,6 & 16-23; Psalm 5:1-3

Christ the True and BetterThe True and Better High PriestChrist Our Hope and Faithful High PriestHebrews 6:9-12 pt.5READ: Hebrews 6:1-8Christ will accomplish what He has purposed and absolutely nothing can stop it. “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” - Philippians 1:6Hebrews 6:9 - “Though we speak in this way, yet in your case, beloved, (worthy one, loved one, dear) we feel sure (persuaded, confident) of better things (more useful, serviceable, advantageous, excellent) — things that belong (to adhere or cling to; to be closely joined to) to salvation.”Christ is faithful to remember and bless His people when we purposely and intentionally care for one another even when we are mistreated. “Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. 10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.- Romans 12:9-10Hebrews 6:10 - “For God is not unjust so as to overlook (epee-lan-than-o-my: neglect, no longer caring for) your work and the love (agape: love from deep within) that you have shown (proved, displayed, demonstrate) for his name (the thought or feeling of which is aroused in the mind by mentioning, hearing, remembering, the name, i.e. authority, interests, pleasure, command, excellences, deeds, position, etc.) in serving the saints, as you still do..”What Christ says He will do, is an absolute guarantee. “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” Numbers 23:19Hebrews 6:11-12 - “And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness (prove by striving to accomplish…) to have (with regard to an intended end or purpose) the full assurance of hope until the end, 12 so that you may not be sluggish, (no-thros: dull, lazy) but imitators (mim-ay-tase: mimic) of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.”For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. Christ the True and Better - Hebrews 6:1-8 - The True and Better High Priest - Maturity in Christ pt.4
Christ the True and BetterThe True and Better High PriestMaturity in ChristHebrews 6:1-8 pt.4READ: Hebrews 5:11-14Basic truths of Christian faith are to be known and understood not repeated over and over again for the believer as if needed to ensure one’s faith. Every believer must press / move to a deeper understanding of Christ. Ephesians 4:13 - Hebrews 6:1-3 - “Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go (press, move) on to maturity, not laying again a foundation (beginnings, first principles, system of truth) of repentance (metanoia: change the mind) from dead works (life lived destitute of power, inactive, inoperative, fruitless) and of faith toward God,(the conviction that God exists and is creator of all things, the provider and bestower of eternal salvation) 2 and of instruction about washings (baptism), the laying on of hands, (blessing given in ceremony, ordination) the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits.”The doctrines of renewal (renewing the mind continually) and regeneration (to make alive that which was dead) are only done by the power and work of the Holy Spirit. It is impossible to be made alive in Christ to be brought back to death and corruption and to have our minds changed and continually renewed in the truth to return to knowing nothing of His goodness. - Hebrews 6:4-6 - “For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened (saving knowledge), who have tasted (experienced) the heavenly gift,(eternal life) and have shared, (partake) in the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted (experienced)the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, (Revelation 21:3 - to have hope in the promise of heaven and Revelation 20:14-15 - to understand the judgment of God in Hell) 6 and then have fallen away, (reject or willingly denounce what you once had) to restore (renew, renovate) them again to repentance, (going back to where it all began) since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm (put to open shame) and holding him up to contempt.”The person whose heart receives the Gift of salvation produces the fruits of faith in their life; the person whose heart did not receive the Gift of salvation continues to produce bad fruit. - Matthew 13:23 - Hebrews 6:7-8 - “For land (ground suitable for growing) that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. 8 But if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, and its end is to be burned.”My translation: verse 7 - The ground that drinks the rain that often falls on it and is tilled, producing fruit and herbs, receives a blessing from God. verse 8 - If it produces thorns and thistle, even though the rain has fallen on it, that ground is worthless and cursed, its end is to be burned.

Christ the True and BetterThe True and Better High PriestHebrews 5:9-14 pt.3READ: Hebrews 5:7-8Christ is the King of Righteousness, our High Priest, Our Melchizedek. Christ, being our source of eternal salvation, requires a high priest who was, is, and always will be the Priest of the Most High God. Hebrews 5:9-10 - “9 And being made perfect (exalted to the state of heavenly majesty), He became the source ( i-tee-os: the Cause) of eternal salvation to all who obey him, 10 being designated (to address, salute, call by name in public) by God a high priest after (kata: according to) the order (character, fashion, quality, style; after the manner of the priesthood) of Melchizedek.” - Genesis 14:17-20What God has said in His word is meant to be understood. Starting with the simple to the difficult. Salvation is easy to understand with the Holy Spirit but impossible without Him. - 1 Corinthians 2:14 Hebrews 5:11 - “About this (peri - concerning, about; os - this - the whole statement previously said) we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing.” - Luke 24:25-27You will not grow and mature in the faith if you do not learn the fullness of God’s word, especially the basic doctrines of the faith. You must go beyond the gospels and dig deep into the Old and New Testiments. - Ephesians 4:13-14 - Hebrews 5:12-13 - “For though by this time (dia ho chronos) you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles (arche: beginning, origin - stoy-khi-on: the first things, simple teachings like the alphabet) of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone (pas: any) who lives (met-ek-o: to partake of or to feed on) on milk is unskilled (ah-pie-ros: inexperienced, without experience with a specific thing) in the word of righteousness, (logos dee-kay-ya-soo-nay: the doctrine concerning the way which man may attain the state of approval of God) since he is a child (nay-pee-os: childish, untaught, unskilled).” - Acts 20:26-27 - 2 Timothy 3:16-17Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone) is only thing given to God’s people to renew their mind. “I have given them your word,..” John 17:14 and “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2 but his delight is in the law[b] of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” - Psalm 1:1-2 - Hebrews 5:14 - “But solid food (stereos: firm, immovable, solid, hard, rigid - trophe: food of the mind, substance for instruction) is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant (gymnazo:exercise vigorously) practice (hexis: power acquired by, practice or use) to distinguish good (kalos: beautiful by reason of purity of heart and life, praiseworthy, morally good, noble) from evil. (kakos: evil, contrary to divine or human law, a crime) ” - Psalm 119:9-16 - Romans 12:2

Christ the True and Better - Hebrews 5:5-8 - The True and Better High Priest pt.2
READ: Hebrews 5:1-4 God appoints the High Priest, not men. Christ was appointed by the Father once for all, just as men who were chosen and appointed to be High Priests for a time.Hebrews 5:5-6 - “5 So also Christ did not exalt (dox-ad-zo: to cause the dignity or worth of a person or thing to become acknowledged) Himself to be made a high priest, but was appointed by Him (implied based on verse 1.) who said to Him, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”; 6 as He says also in another place, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek.” ( these 2 OT verses are used so you will know who has dox-ad-zo Christ. This is crucial to understand because of the obligation “...to offer sacrifice for the people.” verse 3.)The High Priest serves the will of the Father, not his own. saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” Luke 22:42Hebrews 5:7 - “7 In the days of his flesh, (before His resurrection) Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to Him who was able to save (sozo: save a suffering one) Him from death (than-at-os: death comprising all the miseries arising from sin - See 2 Corinthians 5:21), and He was heard because of his reverence.” (see John 17:25-26)Christ’s Priestly Prayer: John 17; Luke 22:39-46Christ is our High Priest, our advocate, and our sacrifice. “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.” - Hebrews 4:15Hebrews 5:8 - “8 Although He was a Son, He learned (manthano: be informed, to become accustomed to) obedience (necessary to fulfill the plan of salvation, Luke 22:42 “…not My will but Yours be done”) through what He suffered. (pas-kho: to be affected, have a sensible experience, to undergo)”

Christ the True and Better - Hebrews 4:14-5:4 - The True and Better High Priest - pt.1
READ: Hebrews 4:11-13 If Christ is our faithful High Priest and our sacrifice, should we shrink from being a faithful witness on His behalf? Keeping the faith is more than doing all the right things as a “Christian”. It’s carefully and faithfully professing Him who gave His life and rose again to give us Life. - Hebrews 4:14 - “Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through (dierchomai - come by the mean of, come through) the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast (krateo - to keep carefully and faithfully, not discard or let go) our confession (homologia - profession, the one whom we profess).”We have a High Priest who has experienced our weaknesses and has given us the way to Him. He is our way to Him. Galatians 2:20 - Hebrews 4:15 - “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.”We can approach the Throne of Grace with full confidence, knowing He will do as He has promised. - 1 John 5:14-15. - Hebrews 4:16 - “Let us then with confidence (parresia - freedom in speaking, without ambiguity, fearless confidence) draw near (proserchomai) to the throne of grace, that we may receive (lambano - to receive what is given, obtain) mercy and find (heurisko - to find, discover, to see, learn, understand) grace to help in time (timely, opportune) of need.”The responsibility of every High Priest is to offer the sacrifice to God on behalf of all mankind for the remission of sins. - Romans 3:22-26- Hebrews 5:1 - “For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.”Christ is our Intercessor and Advocate who can and fully, on our behalf, being our atoning sacrifice, fulfil all the obligations of the High Priest. Christ alone is our High Priest, - Hebrews 5:2-3 - “He can deal gently (be affected moderately, one who is not unduly disturbed but bears them gently) with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness. (Hebrews 4:15) 3 Because of this he is obligated (opheilo - to owe, that which is due) to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as he does for those of the people.”Christ was called by the Father to be our High Priest and so fulfilled the Plan set before Him. - Ephesians 1:7-10 - Hebrews 5:4 - “And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was.”

Christ the True and Better - Hebrews 3:16-19 - The True and Better Prophet pt.3
Christ the True and BetterThe True and Better ProphetHebrews 3:16-19 pt.3READ: Hebrews 3:12-15A rebellious heart is an unbelieving heart, and A believing heart is an obedient heart. Psalm 37:3-5 “Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.”Hebrews 3:16-19 - “For who were those who heard and yet rebelled? Was it not all those who left Egypt led by Moses? 17 And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? 19 So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.”Rebellion, Provocation, Sin, and Disobedience all come from a heart of unbelief! 2024 Graduation Service - Building On the Legacy Already Left - Proverbs 16:1-9
Senior Sunday Graduation - Pr 16:1-9Your Legacy starts in the smallest of muscles but sets the course of your life. - Luke 6:45. - Pr 16:1-2 - “The plans (preparations, arrangements) of the heart (inner part of man - the mind) belong to man, but the answer (ability to response) of the tongue (language) is from the Lord. 2 All the ways (course of life) of a man are pure (clean, righteous) in his own eyes (mental and spiritual qualities), but the Lord weighs (measure, test, prove) the spirit (mental acts, dispositions of various kinds). - James 3:6 - Pr 4:23All that the LORD God has made is for His purpose and plan, nothing is made to just exist but made for His wonderful name and glory. - Romans 9:17 - Pr 16:3-4 - “Commit (roll up to) your work (acts, pursuits, achievements) to the Lord, and your plans (devices, purpose) will be established (firm, stable, fixed). 4 The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble. - Col 3:17 - Eccl 12:13Life is not about you; it will always be about Christ. - 2 Chronicles 7:14 - Pr 16:5-6 - “Everyone who is arrogant (proud) in heart (inner man, heart, mind) is an abomination (disgusting thing) to the Lord; be assured (put the hand too), he will not go unpunished (free, pure, clean, guiltless) . 6 By steadfast love (goodness, kindness) and faithfulness (firmness, sureness, reliable) iniquity (perversity, depravity) is atoned (purge, cover, reconcile) for, and by the fear of the Lord (reverence, respect) one turns away (depose, depart) from evil. - James 4:6 - 2 Chron 7:14The greatest value you’ve been given is Christ and His word, not your stuff. - Matthew 6:21 - Pr 16:7-8 - “When (pleasing, acceptable) a man's ways (course of life) please (acceptable) the Lord, he makes (cause to be at peace) even his enemies to be at peace (make anyone a friend) with him. 8 Better is a little with righteousness than great (abundance) revenues (income) with injustice (no right or attributes of God and man). - Jn 15:10-11 - Ps 86:11 & Ex 33:13 God is sovereign and in control; you’re not. - Revelation 21:5a - Pr 16:9 - “The heart of man (lave - inner man, mind, heart, soul) plans (to think, plan, calculate, invent, make a judgment) his way,(course of life) but the Lord establishes (firm, stable, established) his steps.(course of life) - Rev 4:10-11 - Isa 45:5-7 & Ps 115:3

Christ the True and Better - Hebrews 4:1-13 - The True and Better Prophet pt. 4
God’s rest comes through only the Gospel. - Hebrews 4:1-2 - “Therefore, while the promise of entering his rest (ka ta pow sis) still stands, let us fear (fa beh o) lest any of you should seem to have failed (be devoid, lack in worth) to reach it (rest in Christ). 2 For good news came to us just as to them, but the message they heard did not benefit them, because they were not united by faith with those who listened. All who believe in Christ have true rest in HIM! - Hebrews 4:3 - “For we who have believed enter that rest (in Christ), as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not (those who did not believe) enter my rest,’” although his (Christ’s) works were finished from the foundation of the world. (complete works of salvation in and through Christ were done since the beginning of creation, Revelation 13:8)True Rest can never be found in a day, can never be found in a law, and can never be found in a place. - Hebrews 4:4-5 - “For he has somewhere spoken of the seventh day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all his works (act, deed, etc) .” 5 And again in this passage, he said, “They shall not enter my rest.”’ SEE: Isaiah 30:15Rest is only given to God’s people. Now is the time for your rest. Rest from the toil of sin. SEE: Mark 1:15: - Hebrews 4:6-7 ... “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts.”’Rest comes from no other person...Rest and hope are only given by Jesus Christ, the King of all KINGS and the LORD of all lords. Rest will not come by a political election, - Hebrews 4:8-10 - “For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken of another day later on. 9 So then, there remains a Sabbath (saba tees mos) rest for the people of God, 10 for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.” (What works? (the work of Christ through the cross. He is the end of our toil and suffering of sin, final and true rest.) Rest can be found in His word through the gift of faith on the wings of the Gospel: SEE- Romans 10:17 - Hebrews 4:11-13 - “Let us, therefore, strive (give diligence) to enter that rest, so that no one may fall (come under condemnation) by the same sort of disobedience (a pie thi a). 12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper (cut by single stroke) than any two-edged sword, piercing (penetrate) to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning (fit and skilled to judge) the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And no creature (anything created) is hidden from his sight, but all are naked (lay bare, open, no covering) and exposed (expose by bending the neck) to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” - (a pie thi a - obstinacy, obstinate opposition to the divine will)

Calling Out To God & Crying Out To God - Lanny Lewis

Christ the True and Better - Hebrews 3:7-15 - The True and Better Prophet pt.2
READ: Hebrews 3:1-6How do we hold fast to our confidence and hope? How! - Hebrews 2:1; Hebrews 3:6; 3:14; Hebrews 4:16; Hebrews 6:11-12; 6:15; Hebrews 10:23-25; 10:35-36; 10:39; Hebrews 11:1; Hebrews 12:1Endurance! We must endure with Christ, in Christ, by the faith of Christ. One ministry that the Holy Spirit does for us is confirming our confidence and hope. He reminds us what we must not forget and encourages us what we must hold fast to our Hope. Hebrews 3:7-11 - “Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says,“Today, (this very day) if you hear his voice, 8 (imperative) do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, 9 where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. 10 Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.’ 11 As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest.’” - Psalm 95:7-11Our lasting endurance is in Christ. What Moses could not do for the people of Isreal, Christ has done by transforming the hearts of His people and placing in them the full assurance and confidence of His promises. Hebrews 3:12-15 - “Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. 13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have come to share in Christ, (Hebrews 2:10, 14-18) if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end. 15 As it is said, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”

Christ the True and Better - Hebrews 3:1-6 - The True and Better Prophet pt.1
Christ the builder and faithful delegate to the family of God reminds us of our heavenly calling. “His Word shall not fail you, He promised;Believe Him and all will be well; Then go to a world that is dying, His perfect salvation to tell!.” - Helen H. Lemmel 1922Hebrews 3:1-2 - “Therefore, holy brothers,(brethren in Christ, those exalted to the same heavenly place) you who share in a heavenly(the heavenly) calling, consider (fix one’s mind or eyes upon) Jesus, the apostle (delegate, messenger) and high priest of our confession, 2 who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God's house (family of God).”Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Psalm 127:1 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” - Matthew 7:24Hebrews 3:3-4 - “For Jesus has been counted worthy (axioo - deserving, fit, right) of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder (kata skoo wad zo - equip, prepare, make ready, erect, construct) of a house has more honor than the house itself. 4 (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.)”Christ, the True Heir and rightful owner and deedholder of all that was promised. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. - Matthew 11:27Hebrews 3:5-6 - “Now Moses was faithful in all God's house as a servant,(therapon - attendeant, discharging the duties committed to him - specifically spoken of Moses) to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, 6 but Christ is faithful over God's house as a son. And we are his house, if indeed wehold fast (keep secure or firm possession of) our confidence (Parresia - free and fearless confidence) and our boasting(that of which one glories) in our hope (joyful & confident expectation of eternal salvation, He who is its foundation).”

Christ the True and Better - Hebrews 2:10-18 - The Better Adam pt.2
READ: Hebrews 2:5-9Christ’s sufferings completed and fulfilled the Great Salvation to bring many Sons to Glory. - Hebrews 12:1-2Hebrews 2:10 - “For it was fitting (prepo - to stand out, to be eminent, it is fit or right) that He, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, should make the Founder of their salvation perfect (tel i ah o - bring to an end, complete, finish, fulfill) through suffering.”Christ has sanctified, justified, and made us acceptable to and for Him. Hebrews 2:11-13 - “For He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have One source. That is why (i tia - cause or reason, one worthy of punishment) He is not ashamed to call them brothers, 12 saying, “I will tell of your name to my brothers; in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.” 13 And again, “I will put my trust in him.” And again, “Behold, I and the children God has given me.”Through Christ’s death and suffering, we are set free from lifelong slavery and penalty of sin, death. - John 8:36Hebrews 2:14-15 - “Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, He himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death He might destroy (ka tar gay o - put an end to, cease, do away with) the one who has (echo - to hold, possess, cling) the power of death, that is, the devil (accuser, slanderer, calumniator), 15 and deliver (apallasso - remove, release, depart, set free, deliver) all those who through fear of death were subject (enochos - bound, under obligation, subject, liable) to lifelong slavery.”Since, therefore, we share in being human, flesh and blood, Christ had become a partaker of the same things, born in the likeness of man. He experienced the struggles and pains of being human but He did not sin. He, through death, put an end and did away with that which possesses us, the power of death, that which accuses, slanders, and personally attacks us, the enemy called sin. He delivers all who fear death to which we were lifelong slaves. Christ the True and Better Adam was for us what the first Adam could not be, our gracious and faithful High Priest and King. Those who belong to the family of faith through Christ’s work on the cross have what no other faith ever has: a God who understands His people in every way and is our ever-present help.Hebrews 2:16-18 - “For surely it is not angels that he helps, but He helps the offspring of Abraham. (Who are the offspring of Abraham? Galatians 3:6-7) 17 Therefore He had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation (hilaskomai - to appease, overcome the hostility of, win over, atone for, make amends) for the sins of the people. (people of faith) 18 For because He Himself has suffered when tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted.” Galatians 3:6-7

Christ the True and Better - Hebrews 2:1-4 - The Better Message
READ: Hebrews 1:1-4Christ the Better MessageHebrews 2:1 - “Therefore (dia outos - by means of, because of this reason) we must pay much closer (it necessary to be more earnestly, more exceedingly) attention (turn the mind to, to give heed, to devote thought and effort) to what we have heard, lest (mepote - in no way) we drift away from it.”Reliability of the Gospel of Christ - Hebrews 2:2 - “For since the message declared by angels (messengers) proved (ginomai) to be reliable, (bebaios - stable, fast, firm - a sure footing) and every transgression or disobedience received a just retribution (payment, wage),...”Daniel 9:24 - “Seventy weeks are decreed about your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to put an end to sin, and to atone for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal both vision and prophet, and to anoint a most holy place.”The Greatest Message of Christ - Hebrews 2:3 - “...how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared (laleo) at first by the Lord, and it was attested (bebaioo - to make firm, establish, confirm) to us by those who heard,...”1 John 1:1-5 - "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— 2 the life was made manifest, and we have seen it, and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us— 3 that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, ...4 And we are writing these things so that our joy may be complete. 5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you,...The Witness of the Gospel of Christ - Hebrews 2:4 - “...while God also bore witness (synepimartyreo - to attest together, to join in bearing witness, to unite in adding testimony) by signs (semeion - that by which a person or a thing is distinguished from others and is known) and wonders (teras - a remarkable event, an amazing thing out of the ordinary) and various miracles (dynamis - act of power) and by gifts (merismos - division, partition, distribution) of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.”…God bore Witness… - John 5:31-32,37 - “If I alone bear witness about myself, my testimony is not true. 32 There is another who bears witness about me, and I know that the testimony that he bears about me is true…37 And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me."
