    For this episode, I speak to Dr. Helen Ofosu, an esteemed Industrial/Organizational Psychologist, Executive Coach, and HR Consultant. Dr. Ofosu brings a wealth of experience from both the public and private sectors, having founded I/O Advisory Services in Ottawa. She specializes in building resilient careers and organizations, emphasizing evidence-based practices from her field. With a BSc. in Psychology from McMaster University and an MA and Ph.D. in Applied Social Psychology with a specialization in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from the University of Windsor, her academic credentials are impressive. Dr. Ofosu’s contributions have been recognized with several national awards, including the Head of the Public Service Award and the Canadian Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Outstanding Practitioner Award.She also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Carleton University, mentoring the next generation of psychologists. During his term, Rawlson played a pivotal role in the creation of the City’s anti-racism office and strategy, chaired the Built Heritage Sub-Committee, and served on various committees and boards, including the Ottawa Police Service and Ottawa Community Housing Corporation.Before his foray into public service, Rawlson accrued over 20 years of experience in high-technology market research as an entrepreneur and communication professional.     Andrea Menard LL.B, LL.M, is a Métis from the abolished Red River Settlement and is the Lead Educational Developer, Indigenizing Curricula and Pedagogies, Office of the Provost and VP Academic & the Centre for Teaching and Learning at the University of Alberta.She has over twenty years of experience in relationship building with Indigenous Nations across Treaties 4, 6, 7, 8, and 10, as well as the Métis Homeland regions across Alberta, and with Indigenous Nations in the unceded lands of British Columbia. Andrea has worked for various organizations that range from academic, government, Treaty-making, legal non-profit and legal regulatory work. She teaches Reconciliation and Lawyers at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law, as well as In Search of Reconciliation Through Dispute Resolution at Osgoode Hall Law School.Co-founder of the Indigenous Lawyers’ Forum, an Alberta-based networking group for Indigenous lawyers, legal academics and law students, Andrea is also on the Board of Directors for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Alberta (ADRIA), and on the Canadian Bar Association’s National Indigenous Advisory Group – Criminal Justice.She was named the “Top 25 Most Influential Lawyer” for Canadian Lawyer Magazine in 2022; and “Best in Law across Canada, New Zealand and Australia” in 2022.

He is an award-winning journalist, entrepreneur, and community activist. He co-founded the Ottawa Business Journal, and several other small businesses. For over 30 years, he was a broadcast journalist on CFRA and CityNews, and was the executive editor and a columnist for the Ottawa Citizen. Currently, he’s a coach, mentor and advisor to some of Ottawa’s leading business and community leaders through his work with TEC Canada. He’s been Chair of the United Way as well as co-chair of the United Way Campaign. He has also served as board Chair for the Ottawa Board of Trade, OrKidstra, the Great Canadian Theatre Company, Ottawa Community Housing Foundation, and Run Ottawa. He’s also served on the boards of Algonquin College, Invest Ottawa, Kind Ottawa, and the Royal Ottawa Hospital Foundation. His contribution to the city was recognized in 2016 when he was inducted into the Order of Ottawa and named the United Way’s Ambassador of the Year.Mayor Sutcliffe is an avid runner who trained and qualified for the Boston Marathon in 2015. He wrote about that journey and what it taught him in his book Long Road to Boston, one of four books he’s written.

    Live from Ottawa, I have a conversation with Rev. Dr. Anthony Bailey, Lead Minister at Parkdale United Church, Ottawa. Originally from Barbados, Anthony Bailey has lived and served in various parts of Canada, in Kenya and Jamaica. A teacher at heart, Bailey taught at the McGill University joint theological colleges in Montreal and the Theological College of the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. He is an occasional lecturer at the Ottawa School of Theology and Spirituality and has been a guest lecturer at Queen’s University School of Religion. Bailey is a sought-after preacher, speaker and worship/workshop leader at North American and Caribbean conferences. His academic degrees are in the areas of social work, theology, philosophy of religion (liturgical language) and ethics and culture. Bailey has been awarded the Dreamkeepers’ Martin Luther King Jr. Life Achievement Award for Racial Reconciliation and the Order of Ottawa. He wrote the biblical and theological study resource for “Sankofa: The Histories and Heritages of Black Peoples in the United Church of Canada,” and was Chair of the United Church of Canada’s Racial Justice Advisory Committee. He is an intercultural competence and anti-racism trainer, and comments on social and racial issues on local radio and television stations in his home city of Ottawa.
