Cult-like charismatic churches are harmful on many fronts, but an often overlooked aspect is the damage done to the children. Indoctrination of all kinds of false teachings begin at the earliest ages, and cause long term harm that parents need to be aware of. In this episode we explore the kinds of long term harm children & families face when supporting the NAR/prophetic movement, and offer a different approach for raising kids in church - a way that brings parents and children closer to God’s truth as a family. Deliverance ministry as we know it is largely built on the teachings of one man - Derek Prince. Christians being demonized regularly, works of the flesh blamed on demons, and so much more. In this video we begin where Derek Prince began in his newfound deliverance ministry. We’ll hear him explain in his own sermons how he perfected his tactics, and how his practice of deliverance evolved over time into what we now accept as “normal” in deliverance ministry. We’ll only scratch the surface of his influence, only touch on the beginnings of his loose interpretations of scripture & cover only a few of his influential practices - but we hope to show that deliverance ministry is not biblical. It is just one of many deviations of Christian practice that have appeared in the church far more recently than most people realize. 

Spiritual warfare is a popular topic in the charismatic church, but not always for the right reasons. While the Bible uses warfare language when describing the battle between the kingdom of God & the kingdom of darkness, we don’t see many of the practices of the NAR in scripture - so where do they come from? The truth is that a lot of “warfare” teaching in the church today is the doctrine of demons. Fire tunnels, decree & declare, and many more may use partial verses - but are simply not found in scripture. If it isn’t in the Bible, we shouldn’t expect to be victorious using these recently invented tactics. For those who are looking to rebuild a biblical faith after leaving the NAR, it’s important to learn what to replace these false teachings with so we can go to battle with the right weapons.

Discerning false teachers can be difficult. What should we be looking at? What are the warnings that a teacher is in error? When leaving prophetic / signs & wonders movements, it can be so overwhelming it’s difficult to know where to even begin. On this episode we’ll look at some Bible principles to keep us away from the false teaching that harms us & we’ll look at a few common types of error that these principles can guard us against. In time, you’ll grow enough to identify a ministry in error as you build on a strong foundation - but you have to start somewhere. The info in this episode can get you started.

Does God speak to us in dreams? If so, how should we interpret them? Should we interpret them? Should we expect it? Dreams, like many hard to explain experiences - can be difficult to discern. The danger lies in where we seek the interpretation. There are many books, videos & teachers that promise to help us interpret our dreams - but WHERE are the answers really coming from? If God chooses to speak, we shouldn’t need to go to an outside source to understand what He said. In this video we’ll explore some areas to avoid & a balanced perspective that keeps it all within the bounds of scripture.

Deconstructing from false teaching is a process. It can be overwhelming to sort truth from error, and many Christians leaving the signs and wonders/prophetic movement aren’t sure where to start. In this video we’ll touch on common teachings & terms to watch out for and learn to avoid in the future. We’ll also give a few pointers to get you started reconstructing a biblical faith in a way that won’t feel forced & gives you time to build a biblical faith at a pace you can feel comfortable moving at. When prophecy fails, breakthrough doesn’t come, your ministry doesn’t take off or the healing never comes - what are you supposed to think? NAR elite make claims that sound like all of those things happen for them, all the time. They tell amazing stories without receipts of course (trust me bro…) that excite us and keep us believing. But what happens when you realize it’s not going to happen for YOU?It happened to me and thousands of others. Some leave the faith, others double down, but the rest learn to trust God’s word and discover a whole new world of down to earth Christianity that changes everything.

What can you do when a loved one holds on to NAR beliefs but your eyes have been opened? Dealing with doctrinal issues in close relationships like friends, kids or a spouse can be a touchy subject. Both sides believe they are seeing clearly, and neither feels they can compromise their beliefs. A wide range of emotions and stress on the relationship can easily drive us apart - but there is hope. Altar calls are a staple of a typical church service, and have been for a long time. But it hasn’t always been that way. With its history as a tool of manipulation, along with the excess and error seen in today’s NAR & Hyper Charismatic movement- many churches are moving away from the altar call altogether. Eventually the ATMOSPHERE SHIFTS away from sound bible teaching and ACCELERATES into an extra biblical FRESH REVELATION fueled FLOW of error. Worship encounters full of manifestations of the Spirit, are where lives are forever changed. So we are told. But do these manifestations prove that the Spirit is working? Do we really usher in the presence of God? Are Christians taught to be uninhibited in worship, and automatically accept that what we are seeing and experiencing is the work of God? The Bible lists many virtues & fruit that a believer should seek to cultivate, and on this episode we’ll be exploring the reality of these encounters - which could either be true worship according to scripture or an exercise of the flesh, but it cant be both.

Honor culture in charismatic/NAR churches is an unbiblical idea that originated in the 20th century, not the pages of scripture.
