What is Reality?
What is Reality?Reality can be thought of in a few different dimensions, depending on the lens through which you’re looking:1. Philosophical Reality2. Scientific Reality3. Psychological and Experiential Reality4. Spiritual Reality“Which layer of reality am I experiencing right now? And how does that influence how I show up in the world?”A deep dive into ‘Reality’ with Drake Dyke, Kirstyn Everson Nair, Denise Levine, Kevin Yamamoto, Tulip Joshi, Gagan Jouhal, George Dallas and Vinod NairWebsite: www.socraticsatsang.com#Philosophy #VinodNair #Conversations #PersonalGrowth #MentalHealth #Success #SocraticSatsang #Leadership #Socrates #Satsang #EasternPhilosophy #WesternPhilosophy #Stoicism #Hinduism #Existentialism #Metaphysics #Consciousness #PhilosophyPodcast #Neurodivergence #Autism #livingwithautism #Veterans #Motivation #cancer #love

The Ship of Theseus
In Greek mythology, Theseus was a great hero, known for slaying the Minotaur and safely returning rescued children to Athens. The Athenians preserved his ship as a memorial to this victory. Timed rolled on so when wooden parts of the ship decayed, they were replaced with new parts one at a time. Years became decades and decades became centuries until eventually, none of the original parts remained. That’s the story. Here are the underlying questions:1. If every part of the ship has been replaced, is it still the Ship of Theseus ship? 2. If someone were to collect all the discarded original parts and reassemble them into a ship, which vessel would be the true Ship of Theseus?3. Is identity made of form? Or parts that make the form? Properties of the form? Or consciousness? Or an idea, a perceived reality? 4. How is identity constructed or decided? A conversation between Tulip Joshi, Drake Dyke, Kirstyn Everson, Denise Levin and Vinod Nair. #Philosophy #VinodNair #Conversations #PersonalGrowth #MentalHealth #Success #SocraticSatsang #Leadership #Socrates #Satsang #EasternPhilosophy #WesternPhilosophy #Stoicism #Hinduism #Existentialism #Metaphysics #Consciousness #PhilosophyPodcast #Neurodivergence #Autism #livingwithautism #Veterans #Motivation #cancer #love

Liminal Spaces
"Liminal"An enlightening discussion between Denise Levine, Drake Dyke, Kirstyn Everson Nair, Kevin Yamamoto, Tulip Joshi, Simon Maxwell Stewart, George Dallas and Vinod Nair.Liminal refers to a transitional or in-between state—neither here nor there, but rather on the verge of transformation. In academic and philosophical contexts, liminality is often used to describe periods of ambiguity, disorientation, or potential that occur during phases of transition. This concept was popularized in anthropology by Arnold van Gennep and later expanded by Victor Turner, especially in relation to rites of passage and societal change. In contemporary discourse, liminal spaces—whether physical, emotional, or metaphorical—are seen as fertile ground for growth, creativity, and reinvention. These are moments or places where normal limits and structures are temporarily suspended, allowing individuals or systems to reconfigure.Understanding liminality is valuable across disciplines—from leadership transitions and brand repositioning in the corporate world to personal development, cultural shifts, and innovation strategy. In essence, it highlights the power and vulnerability inherent in moments of transition. Here’s a blog on the subject by our very own panelist Simon Maxwell Stewart: https://medium.com/@kidtronnix/liminal-dialectics-0ca3a4dc5dd1 Socratic Satsang Email: [email protected]: www.socraticsatsang.com#Philosophy #VinodNair #Conversations #PersonalGrowth #MentalHealth #Success #SocraticSatsang #Leadership #Socrates #Satsang #EasternPhilosophy #WesternPhilosophy #Stoicism #Hinduism #Existentialism #Metaphysics #Consciousness #PhilosophyPodcast #Neurodivergence #Autism #livingwithautism #Veterans #Motivation #cancer #love

Anger
Kevin Yamamoto, Drake Dyke, Kirstyn Everson Nair, Gagan Jouhal, Tulip Joshi, Simon Stewart Maxwell, George Dallas and Vinod Nair discuss and explore 'Anger'.Each speaker gets 3 to 4 uninterrupted minutes to speak their mind and may speak multiple times. Anger is a basic human emotion, a response to a perceived threat, injustice, or frustration. It's a form of arousal that activates the body's fight response. Heart rate increases, adrenaline surges, attention narrows. Psychologically, it signals that a boundary has been crossed. If expressed constructively, it can drive action and change. If uncontrolled, it can be destructive. What is freedom?
Freedom is one of the most enduring and contested ideas in philosophy. Is it merely the ability to act as one wills, or does true freedom require responsibility, self-mastery, or even moral purpose? Philosophers from Aristotle to Sartre have debated whether freedom is innate, granted, earned, or even illusory. As we explore this concept, we seek to understand what freedom is and what it ought to be—personally, socially, and ethically.Kevin Yamamoto, Gagan Jouhal, Tulip Joshi, Drake Dyke, David Blackley, Denise Levine, Kirstyn Nair and Vinod Nair.#Philosophy #VinodNair #Conversations #PersonalGrowth #MentalHealth #Success #SocraticSatsang #Leadership #Socrates #Satsang #EasternPhilosophy #WesternPhilosophy #Stoicism #Hinduism #Existentialism #Metaphysics #Consciousness #PhilosophyPodcast #Neurodivergence #Autism #livingwithautism #Veterans #Motivation #cancer #love
