29: "We Have Big Dreams, But Those in Authority Don't..."

Send us Fan MailCallie's coming in with a question that we're pretty sure many entrepreneurs have run up against..."I've had some recent happenings with people from my town, who are wonderful people, but they don't think like us. We do think obnoxiously and bigger than maybe we should. What do you think we should do in a situation where there are really great people surrounding you, but they tend not to believe in the possibility, and it feels like it's holding you back?"In this case, it's those in authority, and it's kind of a vibe killer. This conversation is blunt while also bringing curiosity to why the answer has become the answer. Because, as we know, there's always more to the story.Enjoy and feel free to weigh in on what you would do or if you can see another option!Got a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and CallieInstagram:@amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpage@reclaimedbookandbeanWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.comSubscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcast

    27: So, Callie's Writing A Book...

Send us Fan MailThe first one was for the trash, the second one was “eh” (her words!), and the third one is something she’s extremely proud of. What sparked the idea? What brought her to type the first words? What does this whole thing look like?We feel everyone has a book in them…even if it’s just for the trash, so Amanda asked Callie to share all about it, as it may just inspire you, dear listener, to put pen to paper!Got a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and CallieInstagram:@amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpage@reclaimedbookandbeanWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.comSubscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcast

26: "AI And Its Impact On Human Connection"

Send us Fan MailThe day has come when we were asked about the topic that's all around us...AI. Our wonderful producer, Kassidy, asked, "With AI and automation becoming standard, human-centric business is the new premium. What are your thoughts on this?"This is one of those topics that is escially opening up a can of worms, so we touch on many different aspects of AI.Key Takeaways:Can this help us create more opportunities for human-centric services?Personal responsibility and the choices we make Can we bring back '90s-style communication?!The two podcasts Amanda mentioned from Diary of a CEO were: AI Whistle Blower and Plumbers Will Earn More Than Lawyers. We know this is a hot topic, so we'd love your thoughts and feedback!Got a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and CallieInstagram:@amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpage@reclaimedbookandbeanWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.comSubscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcast

#24: "Where's My Restlessness Coming From?"

Send us Fan MailWell, friends, since Callie doesn’t believe in coincidences and Amanda showed up to record in a rather restless way…we hit record and unpacked it. And when we say we unpacked it, we mean Amanda brought the messy, real, rawness of life (with a lot of tears), and Callie sat in her role as a mental health counselor (yes, a legit licensed one) and created all the space for it. Key Takeaways: The “going on a bear hunt song”...they were actually referring to the deep emotions that you can’t go under or aroundAre we putting the wrong label on ourselves? It’s easier to blame a thing or a person or an entity…but first you have to look at the part you’re choosing to playAnd, Amanda here…thank you, Callie, for encouraging this conversation..apprecaite you! And, thank you, Kassidy, for editing this because there was a lot of crying to edit out!Got a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and CallieInstagram:@amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpage@reclaimedbookandbeanWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.comSubscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcast

#23: "Best Business Advice You Chose Not To Take and Why?"

Send us Fan MailThe tables were turned, and we had a question about our business experience. “What was the best business advice that both of you have received in your entrepreneurial journey that was really great advice, yet you deeply chose to ignore that advice anyway, and what did you do instead, and why?”For Amanda, it was closing down the childcare aspect of her coworking space, and for Callie, it was hiring Amanda when offered. The self-reflection brings up feelings like a fool, feeling overwhelmed, feeling not worthy…all those fun things.Key Takeaways:Amanda’s realization that she felt like a fool when pivoting her businessWhat are you ignoring that keeps you in the same place year after year?Callie’s moment of feeling ‘freedom.’Got a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and CallieInstagram:@amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpage@reclaimedbookandbeanWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.comSubscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcast

#22: "What Are Your Thoughts on Regret-Based Decision Making?"

Send us Fan MailCallie brought an incredible prompt from an incredible Substack post her dad sent her. Eric Ingram wrote a piece called "Regret-Based Decision Making: Designing a Life You Can Live With." A little excerpt, “Over the last few years, especially as I’ve gotten into my mid-thirties, I’ve started changing the variables I use to make decisions. Or more accurately, I’ve changed the weights of those variables….I call the framework regret-based decision making. It’s simple in concept. When faced with a meaningful choice, I try to project myself forward and ask: which option is least likely to haunt me?”Like most topics, you can go many different ways in how this feels to you. Some may have a huge ah-ha moment, some may get their feathers ruffled because they don’t feel they can operate from this theory. What about you? How does this land?Key Takeaways: Are we living into the societal way of buying the house, working until retirement, and then retiring?Do we feel there are more options than the ones we have right in front of us?As a business owner, is there something you want to do, but are scared to?Got a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and CallieInstagram:@amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpage@reclaimedbookandbeanWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.comSubscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcast

    #21: “What's the Vision Worth?”

Send us Fan MailThis submission was a good one…well, they all are. But this one brought two totally different viewpoints from us. "What price is it worth to you to start and grow your business? Expenses, marketing, branding, and tools you’ll need. What price is it worth for the vision for the thing you want to do and get out into the world? So many of us love our idea and our offer, and yet we’re struggling on a shoestring budget, which isn’t working out. We’re DIYing more than we have time to do. I feel this as someone in the marketing world and as a business owner myself.  What are your thoughts on this?"First up, Amanda took the conversation in the direction of which aspects of business actually matter and why you’re investing in all the things… because you truly need it or because you think that’s what's next. Callie comes in with you, being worth it to keep going. The value of the process and the lessons you learn, and where they take you. Key Takeaways: Your growth doesn’t have to look like the playbook of othersWhat is the goal behind hiring out different aspects of your bizIf it’s on your heart to grow it…grow it.We’d love to know where your thoughts went after you heard the question! Got a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and CallieInstagram:@amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpage@reclaimedbookandbeanWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.comSubscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcast

#20: "I'm Not Sure Which Direction To Try To Do All This!"

Send us Fan MailTodays episode is brought to you by some who both had feedback on last week's episode and a question on the growth of their gym! Working full-time while growing a side business and determining the best route to grow…First wanted to reply about the last podcast y’all did. About money and god, loved it. Reminds me of one of the stories in the Bible when god gave 3 guys some kind of token, and only one was awarded because he went out and multiplied it! The other two hid it, or I think wasted it. Along with that, I want to refer y’all to follow , Autumn Miles, you can find her on IG and FB, her podcast is great too. She teaches the Bible but it’s awesome the way she does.  I don’t believe god wants us poor, or struggling. I’m sure he wants us to multiply our “golds” to live well and to share. “I’m 3-5 yrs, but do I have a biz without clients anymore? Was an in-person and online personal trainer/ coach, also do muscle massage (short answer), and this past year have taken over a small gym that I’m working to grow.Biz question: I took over the gym, half the equipment belongs to the owner of the building, I pay rent to him, I bring in new equipment, and am working on growing the gym. I’m assuming it’s Mine! I want to work on changing the name and eventually getting a bigger facility. Not sure which direction to try to do all this, start to employ coaches and staff, all while still working a regular full-time job. Not enough revenue coming in yet to cover us all! Thanks, ladies!!”The first part of this “answer” was Callie sharing about the importance of giving people a story to both follow and get behind. Amanda then comes in with literally 1 million questions. Key Takeaways: Give people a story to follow, as we all love a storyHow you want to show up as an owner will determine your growth strategyBeing brave enough to put yourself out there is pretty dang amazingThis one was fun because there really is no answer. There are so many ways to go about growth, and we really appreciate the fact that she submitted this question to get some feedback!Got a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and CallieInstagram:@amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpage@reclaimedbookandbeanWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.com

#19: "My Business Is Growing, And I Hate My Life Now"

Send us Fan MailWe’re back this week with an anonymous submission, and as you all know, there’s not an actual answer, but there are a lot of thoughts and questions…“So, I started my service-based business 3 years ago, and it's objectively successful. Revenue is up, clients love us, and from the outside, it looks like I made it, but I'm exhausted, anxious all the time, and weirdly resentful of the business I worked so hard to build. I'm working more hours than ever, I can't shut my brain off, and I feel guilty when I'm not working. I've tried hiring help, but I still feel like everything depends on me. Part of me wants to scale bigger, part of me wants to burn it down, and another part of me feels ungrateful for even thinking that way. What am I actually supposed to do here?”First, we dive into the emotional aspects of this question with Callie’s thoughts and a recent conversation with her son while watching Pole to Pole. Then, Amanda comes in with the practical side, with shared experience and one question to ask yourself. Key Takeaways: Your choices have gotten you to where you areHave you paused to look around where you are and whether it’s still where you want to go?There are more options, but are they too uncomfortable to consider?Have you ever found yourself in this situation? What thoughts went through your mind?Got a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and CallieInstagram:@amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpage@reclaimedbookandbeanWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.comSubscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcast

#18: “Can It Be Purposeful and Make Money?”

Send us Fan MailWell, friends, we’re continuing the conversation from Episode 17 because 20 minutes after we ended that episode, Callie had a huge realization about a story she’s been telling herself. We’d tell you, but that would just spoil the episode :)  Callie does (once again) share some thoughts she has around money, living on purpose, and her journey in her religion, and how that has created this whole story we talk about. Key Takeaways: Can something be two things at once? Joyful and hard? Purposeful and profitable? Get curious about the stories you tell yourself to see where they’re actually coming from People are going to have their opinions…that’s okay.Callie, thank you again for being so incredibly open to sharing - can’t imagine it not being what someone needed to hear ❤️❤️And as Callie mentioned, if you do have some insights on this topic, we'd love to talk about it, so please reach out!Got a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and CallieInstagram:@amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpage@reclaimedbookandbeanWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.comSubscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcast

#17: “It’s Time To Ask For Help...But I'm Afraid They'll Tell Me I’m Doing It Wrong.”

Send us Fan MailAmanda here…I spoke with Callie about the growth of her business, and, well, you could say she keeps putting off answering me. So, (with her permission) I ask it in today's episode. Hang with me as I ask the question, because I made it up as I went and wanted to choose my words wisely, as what they’ve grown is freaking incredible, and they don’t give themselves enough credit. And, I want to personally thank her for being very real, raw, and vulnerable in this conversation and allowing me to dig in!Key Takeaways: In order to truly grow, you have to ask yourself the tough questionsGrow in a way that works for you, not because that may be what other people think you should doWhat does failure mean to you? And when you answer that question, ask yourself if it’s true or just a story you’re telling yourselfThank you so much for listening to this one, and we hope it helps you take some time to really reflect on the stories you’re telling yourself. Are they true or not?Got a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and CallieInstagram:@amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpage@reclaimedbookandbeanWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.comSubscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcast

#16: Feedback…”Could My Feedback Be Hurtful or Helpful?"

Send us Fan MailIt's not about being right or wrong. This week we had a submission around a topic that has felt necessary to talk about (in Amanda's eyes!), so here goes: "I find myself being hesitant to provide feedback. This could be to a direct report, a colleague, a client, a prospect, or a higher up. Oftentimes I’m afraid of being direct because in my mind it might hurt feelings or that it will be offensive to the recipient, so I end up sugar coating it, tap dancing around the real issue, or just not responding at all….maybe I’m getting in my own way here and that my feedback could actually be very helpful and positive…What is the best way to provide accurate feedback so that everyone on both sides feels good about it?"This was interesting as we went two different ways and then back around, like normal! Key Takeaways: As an expert, we have to be careful not to come across as “I’m telling you what to do.”Figure out our internal issues before going into a conversation is importantEveryone is really trying their bestWhat are your thoughts on feedback? Do you have an experience where this was tricky, or you thought it would be tricky and it wasn’t? OR, do you have some feedback for us on this topic of feedback?!

    #15: "Networking For Introverts…Help!"

Send us Fan MailNetworking. We know there’s a gray area, but a lot of times it seems like it’s black and white. You either like it or not. This week's question was, “Networking for introverts or for those whose work drains all of their social energy. Is one’s network really as powerful as biz influencers say? How to make the small connections when you’re drained out.”If you haven’t noticed, Callie is an introvert, and Amanda is an extrovert. Which was fun to talk about these answers from both perspectives. Key Takeaways: More is not always better because those close relationships are so powerfulFor those who need to recharge more often, find the time to do it…even just 10 minutesConfidence is a big part of this…you have to be confident to ask for what you need! We’d love to hear your thoughts on this topic and if you’re coming from the lens of an extrovert or introvert!

#14: "How Do You Build Generational Wealth In Your Business?"

Send us Fan MailA doozy of a question for us on this week's episode!"How do you build generational wealth in your business?"And because we know our lane, we brought in expert advice! Mindy McCubbin is a Certified Financial Planner and the founder of Truman Wealth Advisors. When we asked Mindy this question, she recommended the book, “Every Family’s Business” by Thomas Williams Deans, as one of their services is exit planning, and this is the blueprint they use. And you'd be correct in thinking...that's all they shared? No, friends. This topic brought up: - thoughts on passing down money to kids- how money is (unfortunately) not a common topic- how do we talk about and teach our kids about money to help them make decisions later?I don't think this will be our last episode on money, so if you have more questions or are interested, please share them in our Google form or DM Amanda on IG!Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and Callie Instagram: @amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpage@reclaimedbookandbeanWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.comSubscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcast

Can you all dive deep into the ever-so-slightly painful process of 'hiring' - from where to post, to red flags (this has been a hard one for me!), to balancing your gut with hard and objective strategy."We'll admit we are not HR, and we're not talent scouts. We dive deep into the complexities of the hiring process, sharing personal experience and practical tips. A book recommendation is The E-Myth Revisited, and the banana bread story came from the wonderful Brandi Spurling with Spree Culture Co on her blog, which you can find here!Key takeaways:  Knowing your company's mission and vision will create alignment right off the batWhile being objective is essential, don't ignore the gut feelings you getDon't be afraid to always be accepting applications, so you can keep the hiring door openHave any hiring tips you've found helpful? #12: Self Awareness and Its Role in Business

Send us Fan MailThink of this as Part 2 of Episode 11, as we continue the conversation about marketing and branding and how they play into building a growing business. But, the kicker of this one is…Self Awareness. How many times a day do we do things because it’s just what we’ve always done, or it’s how we’ve seen other people do it? We didn’t actually count, but it’s a shit ton. And because of that, there’s been a sense of vanilla in the world. Samesies as the cool kids would say (or maybe they don’t anymore?).Today, we’re talking about how being self-aware helps you make decisions that will truly shape the business you’re looking to build. Key Takeaways: In a world of vanilla, it’s not hard to stand out and be authentically youFinding balance in work and life is incredibly important to be aware ofAs long as you’re a solid person doing good things in the world, say the things you feel you need to say…even if they’re hardAnd if you'd really like to subscribe to Amanda's newsletter, you can do so here!Episodes to go back to based on this one: Episode 8: Wait? #10: I Think I Want To Close It Down…

Send us Fan MailThis submission took us on a journey back in time…a time when we closed something of our own down. “I'm not sure. I want to continue my business. And I know you guys have talked about this, but please talk me through it.”Our conversation explores our personal experience of business closure, emphasizing that shutting down a business is often a new beginning rather than an end…and yes, it’s hard to see that in the middle of it. We discuss the emotional challenges entrepreneurs face, such as shame and guilt, and encourage a mindset shift to view closure as a stepping stone for future opportunities.Key Takeaways: As hard as it is in the moment, there will be goodness on the other sideUnderstanding the emotional impact of closureYou will absolutely piss some people off when you close and that’s on themGot a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and Callie Instagram: @amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpageWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.comSubscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcast

#8: Wait? How Did I Get Here?

Send us Fan MailBuckle up, friends! This one isn't exactly about business, but it also is. Callie brought up a topic that, some may say, has become trending.Mostly for women, and when we start coming into our 40s, and the conversation becomes…"I'm tired. What am I doing with my life? I hate my career. Why did I pick what I picked? I went to school for this thing, and I got this degree, but it's not at all what I wanna do. Why did I do that? And, I can't start over. I'm at this place in my life where I can't start over. I only have 10 years till I retire or whatever it is. You know, 10, 15 years till I retire."Key Takeaways:Where does this feeling come from?Who made up the scoreboard that we're using? Is self-worth something that's missing?Got a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us: Follow along with Amanda and Callie Instagram: @amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpageWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.com?Subscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcasts.

Send us Fan MailThis week on Unsolicited Business Advice, Amanda Quick and Callie Page tackle a listener's topic suggestion: “How to take a leave of absence as a biz owner. #2: Forecasting Your Finances - Am I'm Just Expecting Too Much Of Myself?

Send us Fan MailThis week on Unsolicited Business Advice, Amanda Quick and Callie Page tackle a listener question:"How far in advance can/should I be able to project my revenue? I've been doing this for a while now and I feel like at my "peak" I could accurately forsee my numbers around 60 days out in my service/contract based business. Not exactly reassuring when there's not much in savings. It feels like I'm on a hamster wheel trying to bring in new business while still serving current clients. In our retail businesses, it's seemingly completely unpredictable even with 3+ years of data. The products we sell aren't selling the same, the volume of traffic (web or brick and mortar) is different YOY. That being said we're hitting or exceeding our annual projections, it just looks different than what we planned. Is it "normal" to only be able to accurately forecast a quarter (or less) at a time? Is my business/sales pipeline "healthy" in my industry and I'm just expecting too much of myself or the business(es)? Where can I even find this sort of ancedotal information to benchmark myself against? Even friends get uncomfortable with sharing this level of detail and vulnerability.”— The Worry-WortWe share our logical ideas and thoughts, unsolicited takes, and some deeper aspects of this subject - your worth, your value, what you're selling, and to whom. Key Takeaways:Is there even a “normal” when it comes to projections? As business owners, are we shooting ourselves in the foot by doing all the things and not doing the main thing that brings in revenue to keep the revenue consistent?  Can we have these conversations more often? We all feel like we’re doing worse than we actually are!Have a question/suggestion/or want our advice on a topic? We’d love to give you our unsolicited advice, so please submit your question here.Connect with Us:Follow along with Amanda and Callie Instagram: @amandalquickcoaching@reclaimedblog@reclaimedpageWebsite:www.amandaleequick.comwww.reclaimedpage.comSubscribe:Never miss an episode of Unsolicited Business Advice — available wherever you get your podcasts.

    #1: Selling to a cold market - "Am I a know-it-all jerk?"

Send us Fan MailThis week on Unsolicited Business Advice, Amanda Quick and Callie Page tackle a listener question:"As a consultant/coach, I happen upon a lot of businesses that I can see need our help, but I don’t know how to reach out to them (which would be a “cold” reach out) without getting lost in the noise and/or offending them. How do you initiate a convo with a small business owner that you know would benefit from your help without sounding like a know-it-all jerk?"We share our logical ideas and thoughts, unsolicited takes, and some deeper aspects of this subject - your worth, your value, what you're selling, and to whom. Key Takeaways:If you're in business, you have to sell what you offer. And if people really need it, you're doing a disservice by not sharing it?Are you selling the right thing to the wrong person? The wrong thing to the right person? Or the right thing to the right person in the wrong way?Expert Shoutout: This episode features insight from Wendy Moore of Eleve Talent.
