    Count It All Joy

Pastor Ken Keltner is Senior pastor of Brookside Baptist Church, Brookfield, WI. He's the speaker on The Word for Life radio broadcast which airs on WVCY. In James 1:2-3 it says, "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience." The word "temptations" in this context is referring to testing or trials. It's a word we really don't like to hear. This passage indicates that the trying of our faith builds patience or endurance in us. Many times we read this quickly and we may talk about its meaning in application to others, but what about when the trials and tests hit you? What is your response when these trials all of a sudden seem to come from nowhere? You wonder, why is this happening to me? What have I done wrong? Do we really count it all joy when we go through such times? How do we respond? It's often said such trials can turn us bitter or better. So listen to this Crosstalk and find out how Pastor Keltner responded as he walks listeners through what occurred during events leading up to and beyond March 16, 2026. That's the day that Pastor Ken's wife Kathy went home to be with the Lord after battling Glioblastoma, an aggressive type of brain cancer. They were married over 42 years and amidst the extreme heartache, the Lord has shown himself faithful and is very much at work. More Information: brooksidebc.org [email protected] 262-783-6180

The Growing Concern Over Data Centers

From coast to coast there is a massive expansion underway of AI (artificial intelligence) data centers being constructed. This expansion is happening simultaneously across the states. Farmland once used to grow our nation's food supply is being destroyed. Green spaces that caused individuals to move to a particular location are now being overrun with dirt, concrete and non-stop construction. The demand for electricity and resources is staggering. What's going on here? Joining us to answer that question was Tom DeWeese. Tom is president of American Policy Center. He's one of the nation's leading advocates for individual liberty, free enterprise, private property rights, personal privacy, back-to-basics education, American sovereignty and independence, and protecting our Constitutionally-guaranteed rights. According to Tom, the purpose of data centers is to collect and store every single piece of information that makes up human society including your biometrics, your daily actions, even your bank account transactions. Is there any "grassroots" opposition to this? Hear the details, discover what listeners had to say, and find out what you can do on this edition of Crosstalk.

Biblical Authority vs. “Yea, Hath God Said?"

From the very beginning, the authority of God's Word has been under attack. God gave clear instruction in the Garden of Eden as recorded in Genesis 2:16 and following: "And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, 'Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat; But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.'" In Genesis chapter 3, the serpent spoke to Eve, "Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" The serpent put this question in her mind to cause doubt and later countered what God said, "Ye shall not surely die." Tragically, Eve took of the fruit and ate it. She gave it to Adam, who also ate it, and thus sin entered into the world. We often look back and ask how could they do such a thing. Yet, in our secular world and in pulpits across the country, the same challenge is happening day after day, questioning the authority of the Scriptures. Returning to Crosstalk to answer this concern was Ken Ham. Ken is founder of Answers in Genesis and its life-changing attractions: the highly acclaimed Creation Museum and the world-renowned Ark Encounter. Ken is a biblical apologist and author of multiple books, including Divine Dilemma (understanding death, disease, and suffering); Divided Nation (about today's culture wars); Creation to Babel (a devotional commentary); The Lie: Unraveling the Myth: Evolution/Millions of Years and Miraculous: The Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis Story.

    Mother’s Day Tribute 2026

As this is the National Day of Prayer, we remind you, as we so often do, to pray for our country, our nation's leaders, our President, his cabinet, your members of the House of Representatives; your senators; your governor; your state leaders and representatives. We must also remember to pray for city and town mayors and local officials along with our courts at all levels. We need to pray that each of them will realize they have an accountability before God, and that they would make decisions in the best interest of the nation, rather than their own personal interest or what will advance them or their party in the next election. Pray that they would recognize what Scripture says: "It is righteousness that exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people." We must humble ourselves as a nation before God, confessing our sin, and look to Him for guidance. While we are thankful for a day which our nation recognizes by proclamation, at Crosstalk these are things we regularly urge all listeners to do. This coming Sunday is Mother's Day. It's a time our nation sets aside to honor mothers. Moms have a great deal of influence upon their children, a fact that we see all throughout Scripture. That's why we offer this broadcast each year--a time to give listeners an opportunity to honor their mother.

Unmasked: Biden Admin Turns Blind Eye to COVID VAX Safety Signals

In Jim's hands today is a Press Release from the office of Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin. Senator Johnson is chairman of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. Last Wednesday he held a hearing titled, "Unmasked: How Biden Health Officials Purposely Turned a Blind Eye Toward COVID-19 Vaccine Safety Signals." It's a hearing that drew little media attention. Along with this hearing, Senator Johnson released a report of approximately 600 pages of records that detailed how beginning in early 2021, FDA officials became aware of a new "state of the art" data mining method that could better detect statistically significant safety signals for adverse events associated with the COVID-19 shots. Rather than adopt this method, Biden health officials continued to employ their older data mining method with known limitations that prevented the FDA from detecting adverse events. Senator Johnson indicates that Peter Marks, head of the FDA's Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research, was treating vaccine injuries that were life-threatening and people were pleading with the FDA and NIH to make this pubic, but never did so. Senator Johnson indicated, "We've got a real big problem in this country about vaccine-injury deniers." Again, these vaccine injuries are real, but it's being denied. While this hearing was far longer than a Crosstalk program, listen to Senator Johnson's opening remarks, Ranking Member Senator Blumenthal, the lead Democrat of the Committee, and the witnesses.

    The Islamizing of America

Islam is proliferating across the United States. This is due in part to immigration from other nations. According to ChatGPT, it's believed that between 55-60% of Muslims in the United States are immigrants. Around 1970, the number of mosques in the U.S. was estimated to be around 100. By the year 2000 that jumped to around 1200 mosques and by 2020 that jumped to around 2,800 mosques, a 25-fold increase since 1970. A broader inclusive estimate for 2026 put that number between 3,700 and 4,000 mosques and Islamic centers and growing. Could this be a sign of the Islamizing of America? To answer that question, Crosstalk welcomed back Usama Dakdok. Usama is founder of the Straight Way of Grace Ministry. He is the speaker on Revealing the Truth About Islam and founder of The Straight Way of Grace Ministry. Usama speaks fluent Arabic and has translated the Qur'an into English. He is the author of Exposing the Truth about the Qur'an, Exposing the Truth About Jihad and the booklets, The Violent Truth about Islam and The Straight Way to Eternal Life. There have been massive public relations campaigns put on using libraries across the country in special outreaches known as "Know Your Muslim Neighbor." Following up with that effort, the Council on American/Islamic Relations (CAIR) joined forces with the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations to promote what they call "National Open Mosque Day," which began this past Sunday. It's an attempt to open doors to the wider community as they invite people of all faiths and backgrounds to explore and learn about Islam. Listen as Usama communicates a timely warning about Islam!

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there is a severe youth mental health crisis unfolding in the United States. Youth increasingly have persistent sadness, depression, hopelessness and even increasing thoughts of ending their life by means of suicide. What is driving this? Why do these numbers continue to grow especially since academia has been promoting for years Social Emotional Learning or SEL? Could social media be playing into this? Or what about gaming into which some are immersing themselves multiple hours every day and well into the night while relationships and direct verbal communication with others is on the decline? What is driving this dramatic rise in youths with mental health challenges?

    SPLC Indicted with Fraud

Mat Staver is the Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel. Mat is a constitutional attorney with three landmark cases before the U.S. Supreme Court. He is an author and the host of the radio broadcasts Faith & Freedom and Freedom's Call and the TV broadcast Freedom Alive. The information is shocking: for years, the Southern Poverty Law Center raised tons of money claiming they were exposing organizations with ties to hate groups and with ties to white supremacy including the Ku Klux Klan. Last Tuesday a federal indictment was handed down by the acting Attorney General Todd Blanche who said, "The SPLC was not dismantling these groups; it was instead manufacturing the extremism it purports to oppose." FBI Director Kash Patel said, "The SPLC used the money they raised from their donor network to actually pay the leadership of these very groups." With us today is one of the organizations that the SPLC listed as a so-called "hate group."

    Life Affirming Science

Dr. Tara Sander Lee is a Founding Board Member of SALT, Science Alliance for Life and Technology. She is a Science Advisor and Consultant who earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Medical College of Wisconsin. She has over 30 years' experience in public policy, academic research and clinical medicine with an emphasis on the cause of pediatric disease There are numerous debates as to how far we can delve into scientific research and still hold to a system of ethics. Some say it really doesn't matter as long as it's for the common good. Take, for instance, embryonic stem cell research. Some will claim that since aborted baby tissue would otherwise go in the trash, it's fine to use it for experimentation. Others contend the use of fetal body parts from aborted babies in vaccines and treatment are also okay if others are being helped by it. Did you know there are labs that create human embryos solely for experiments? These embryos are usually destroyed once research is complete. Also, did you know aborted fetal tissue is still used in some medical studies? This research often happens without public awareness or consent. And what about the use of AI? AI tools are shaping choices in healthcare, pregnancy and research. If left unchecked, this can target those who are disabled, the unborn or even older adults. We are headed down a pathway of very concerning technologies, genetic screening, gene editing, cloning, artificial wombs, 3-parent embryos and even human-animal chimeras. Where do we draw the line? When is it time to put the brakes on scientific research to protect ethics and prevent us from going down the pathway of eugenics?

    VA Gerrymandered Maps Challenged

Robert Knight is a former Los Angeles Times news editor and columnist for the Washington Times as well as other publications. Robert has had senior positions in a number of pro-family organizations. On Monday, Ken Cuccinelli, the national chairman of the Election Transparency Initiative, was the guest on Crosstalk. He warned about the Virginia vote that was to take place on Tuesday pertaining to a mass gerrymandering of the state. He noted that the state is near a 50-50 split with 6 blue (Democrat) congressional districts and 5 red (Republican) districts. He also communicated that there's a push from the left to make it ten blue districts and one red district. Less than 48 hours ago, votes were tallied, with unofficial results indicating that the gerrymandered maps narrowly won. Since then a judge has halted the results from being certified. According to Robert, more than 80 million dollars was spent on this campaign, with most of it coming from Democrats. They raised virtually all of it from out-of-state sources including a group run by Hakeem Jeffries, the minority leader in the House of Representatives, and another led by George Soros. This has resulted in a new redistricting map that Robert said looks like, "...a lobster with a long tail." Does the law really give the Virginia legislature the ability to redraw districts for the mid-term elections with a later return to what the law says? Was the vote in Virginia basically an anti-Trump vote as well as a response to what took place in Texas? These are all good questions and Robert deals with them and more.

    Pause for Praise

Without question there is much turmoil across our nation and around the world. The continued conflict in the Middle East shows no sign of relenting. War with Iran and its surrogates continues. Russia's invasion into Ukraine and the continued war has been going on more than 4 years. China has just sent warships to the Western Pacific for war drills as tensions with Japan are rising. Political division is as intense as ever. Political offices are filled with those who are more concerned by the next election than doing what is in the best interest of the nation. Offensive language has been on the increase on both sides of the political aisle. Scandal has rocked both state and federal offices. New revelations of fraud are occurring all too regularly. Teen rebellion is escalating with teen takeovers of convenience stores and shopping malls. The lives of the preborn are increasingly being snuffed out by the abortion pill and those who strategically dismember their little bodies. Crime, violence, drug abuse, domestic abuse and theft never take a vacation. It's ever before us. These are all the marks of a people who have turned their back on God. It's imperative we turn back to the Lord. Romans 1:18 says, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness." Without a doubt, there is much ungodliness and unrighteousness on full display. That same passage further indicates in verse 21, "Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened." That's where we are at today.

Will Peace Come to the Middle East?

Dr. Richard Schmidt is Pastor of Union Grove Baptist Church and founder of Prophecy Focus Ministries. He is the speaker on the weekly TV program Prophecy Focus and the radio broadcast Prophecy Unfolding. He spent 32 years in law enforcement until his retirement. Dr. Schmidt has authored several books including Are You Going to a Better Place?, Daniel's Gap Paul's Mystery, Tribulation to Triumph: The Olivet Discourse, Globalism: The Great World Consumption, Artificial Intelligence: Transhumanism & the De-Evolution of Democracy. Israel has just concluded its Memorial Day, a day of mourning fallen soldiers and victims of terrorism. Then with a special ceremony they began their Independence Day, a day of rejoicing over becoming a nation in 1948. Israel now celebrates 78 years as a nation. All the while enemies still have the goal of wiping Israel off the face of the earth. Tension remains high as the official deadline for the ceasefire with Iran approaches conclusion. A delegation from the United States has had their trip postponed as Pakistan has made known their uncertainty to attend. President Trump was asked whether or not he would resume bombing, to which he replied, "Well, I expect to be bombing, because I think that's a better attitude to go in with." On another front, a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will soon conclude. Israel has accused Hezbollah of a "blatant" ceasefire violation. Meanwhile the Strait of Hormuz continues to be blocked.

    Election Integrity Matters!

Ken Cuccinelli is the national chairman of the Election Transparency Initiative. He previously was the acting director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Yesterday morning, Harmeet Dhillon, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Department of Justice, said that federal officials discovered tens of thousands of dead people and non-citizens on voter rolls. At the present time, multiple states are being sued by the Trump administration for failing to turn over voter roles to the Department of Justice which is determined to ensure compliance with the National Voter Registration Act, the Help America Vote Act and other laws. Out of 60 million records, they've found at least 350,000 dead people and approximately 25,000 people with no citizenship records. Ken believes that election transparency is the foundation of voter confidence. So review this edition of Crosstalk and find out how Ken views the election landscape and what must be done to protect such transparency and confidence. For example: Most people don't call local voting officials when they move. So as people relocate, do such rolls get automatically "cleaned" or not? Why has there been such a radical turn to the "left" in Virginia? Is there an effort in play in order to gain four more House seats for Democrats? How significant is this to the rest of America? Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger just signed into law a measure that joins the state to the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Is this an effort to undermine the electoral college? What is ranked choice voting and does the public really understand it? What is ballot harvesting?

    Moms of the Bible

Being a mom means feeling like you're on top of the world at times. At other times there are challenges, struggles and even heartaches. In the end, the responsibilities and cares of a mother never cease. The circumstances of each mom are different and unique, but God's grace is available to all. So as an encouragement to moms, Crosstalk interviewed Rhonda Stoppe. Rhonda is a speaker and author of seven books. With 40 years of experience in helping women build no regrets lives, Rhonda has become a highly sought-after voice in the Christian living community. She's a popular homeschool conference speaker and the host of the award-winning podcast, Old Ladies Know Stuff. Rhonda's been happily married to her husband Steve for 44 years. She's a pastor's wife, mother of four and grandmother of 15. She appeared to discuss her newest book: Moms of the Bible: Life-changing Lessons from the Fearless, Flawed and Faithful. A critical point noted by Rhonda that is easy to forget is that moms have a calling from God in that they are the first teachers that he puts into our world. However, did moms in the Bible always get it right? Is there a path forward for women today who feel they are "blowing it" as a mother? Your answer to that is inside your Bible. Rhonda talks about it as she explores timeless life lessons from Bible moms of all types including Rahab, Naomi, Jochebed, Rebecca and more, revealing how their stories of failure, faith, and hope can help you fulfill your own calling with confidence.

    Iran, Israel, & Islam

Iran continues to hold fast to their nuclear aspirations while at the same time a U.S. blockade of the Strait of Hormuz is also in place. However, other factors play into this situation. That's why Crosstalk brought back Shahram Hadian to help listeners fully understand the dynamics surrounding events in and around Iran. Shahram is the founder of Truth in Love Ministry. He's a Christian pastor and a former Muslim. Shahram was born in Iran and came to America in 1978. Shahram began by explaining that the behavior of Iran should be of no surprise. For example, within Islam, adherents are allowed to invoke deception, especially under the concept of a cease-fire or treaty when they're at their weakest point. The Islamic term for this is "hudna" and they enter into this agreement knowing they are going to break it and are merely buying time. So Shahram believes that no one, including those in the Trump administration, should believe one word that comes out of the mouth of the leaders of Iran. That leadership is coming from Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corp. Shahram noted that the theocratic system in Iran has basically collapsed and since the IRGC is predominantly running the country, it's basically under a military coup at this time. Shahram summarized the situation this way: Islamic/Shia eschatology demands that Israel be wiped off the face of the earth. The Jews cannot be in that land. Iran believes it belongs to them and that their Islamic messiah will go back to Jerusalem. The only way to achieve that is to obtain a nuclear weapon and use it on Israel. So we need to pray for an end to the regime in Iran.

    BSGM 2604

The sermon centers on the Great White Throne Judgment described in Revelation 20, emphasizing that all unbelievers—those who rejected Christ throughout history, including those who lived during the Millennium—will be resurrected and stand before God to be judged according to their works. Unlike the judgment seat of Christ, which evaluates believers' faithfulness for rewards, this final judgment determines eternal punishment for those without Christ, with no possibility of annihilation, as the lake of fire represents everlasting punishment, not extinction. The passage underscores God's perfect justice, affirming that every sin is recorded and will be made manifest, yet it also offers profound relief for believers, whose sins have been blotted out by Christ's blood and are no longer held against them. The message concludes with a heartfelt, urgent call to repentance and faith, stressing that salvation is available to all who open their hearts to Christ, while warning of the eternal consequences of rejection. The tone is both solemn and pastoral, combining theological precision with deep compassion for the lost.
