Before Shame, the Body Was Not the Enemy: Caring for Your Body and Quieting the Body Image Noise with Compassion
In this episode of Worthy & Whole, LeighAnn shares an honest reflection on body image, summer insecurity, and learning to care for the body without partnering with shame. As shorts season arrives, many women feel the familiar pressure to “get back in shape,” hide their bodies, or measure their worth by how they look. But what if the goal is not to shame ourselves into change, but to steward our bodies with compassion, dignity, and truth?Together, we’ll look at Genesis 2–3, where Adam and Eve were naked and unashamed before sin and shame entered the story. We’ll reflect on God’s question, “Who told you that you were naked?” and consider how many of us have picked up body shame from comments, culture, comparison, and criticism... messages God never spoke over us.This episode invites you to stop treating your body like the enemy and begin seeing it as a gift worth caring for, to honor God with, and without making it the measure of your worth.Scriptures referenced:Genesis 2:25, Genesis 3:7–11, 1 Corinthians 10:31, Romans 8:1Reflection question:When did shame first enter your body story, and what might God want to speak over that place today? For local listeners, join the free Women at the Well Walking Club this summer on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings - follow @Crosswindscollab on Facebook and join the Worthy & Whole free women's Facebook group for details. Not local? Why Finding Yourself Doesn’t Work and Where to Put Your Worth Instead
What if the world’s advice to “find yourself” is actually keeping you exhausted, insecure, and stuck chasing a moving target? In this episode of Worthy & Whole, I share why trying to find yourself through the world’s lens can leave you striving for an identity that never feels fully secure. I open up about my own journey through identity discovery and how a search for myself slowly became a search for Jesus. What I thought I needed to build, prove, or discover on my own became an invitation to receive what had been true in Christ all along. We talk about the difference between a self-made identity and an identity received in Christ, why worth rooted in feelings, performance, and comparison will always shift, and how Jesus offers something deeper, steadier, and unshakable. If you have ever felt lost, insecure, stuck in comparison, or unsure of who you are, this episode will remind you that knowing who you are is not a project. It is an inheritance to receive from Jesus. In this episode, we cover:Why “finding yourself” can become an exhausting moving targetHow insecurity, comparison, and performance distort our sense of worthThe difference between building identity and receiving identity in ChristHow grief and hardship can become the beginning of a deeper search for JesusWhat it means to uncover your worth in Christ instead of striving to create itWhy true identity is anchored in Jesus, not in trends, feelings, or achievementScriptures referenced:Matthew 13:44 The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a fieldSong of Songs 4:7 – “You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you”Philippians 4:7 – The peace of God which surpasses all understandingIf this episode encouraged you:Share it with a friend, subscribe to the podcast, and leave a review so more women can find this message. Spring Cleanup for the Soul: A Christian Perspective on Growth, Pruning, and Renewal
In this episode of the Worthy and Whole Podcast, we are talking about spring cleanup for the soul and what being a gardener can teach us about Christian growth, pruning, healing, renewal, and partnering with God in a new season. As the weather warms and the garden begins to wake up, spring reveals what winter left behind, the dead leaves, broken branches, overgrowth, and even the things that are still there but no longer belong where they are. In the same way, God often uses new seasons in our lives to reveal what needs tending, what needs pruning, and what may need to be released, transplanted, or nurtured for new growth. In this episode, I share reflections from my own spring garden and how the Lord used it to speak to me about:letting go of what no longer fitstrusting God’s pruning and repositioningresisting comparison with someone else’s “garden”learning to see your life with more gracepartnering with God instead of striving for perfectionIf you are in a season of healing, spiritual growth, emotional renewal, or making room for what God wants to do next, this episode will encourage you to trust the Master Gardener and remember that your life is not riding on your perfection.John 15:1–22 Corinthians 5:171 Corinthians 3:6–7If this episode encouraged you, be sure to share it with a friend, leave a review, and subscribe to the Worthy and Whole Podcast so more women can grow in peace, wholeness, and their God-given worth.Hi friends, thanks for listening! Part 2: The Wave Passes, Now What? | How to Recover After an Old Wound Gets Triggered
What do you do when an old wound gets triggered again? How do you recover when grief, fear, shame, or emotional overwhelm suddenly resurfaces, even after you thought you had already healed? In this Christian podcast episode, LeighAnn shares a practical and faith-filled approach to recovering after an emotional trigger, especially when an old wound resurfaces and healing feels layered instead of linear. If you have ever felt discouraged by the return of painful emotions, this episode will remind you that being triggered does not mean you are back at the beginning, and it does not mean you have failed. You’ll learn how to:pause before pushing forward, identify what got stirred up, discern whether you are facing a real present threat or an old wound response, care for your body with compassion, return to God’s truth instead of self-condemnation, and recover slowly with grace instead of striving. This episode offers Christian encouragement for women navigating healing from emotional wounds, grief triggers, trauma responses, nervous system overwhelm, and the challenge of finding peace when old pain returns. Through Scripture, practical reflection, and Christ-centered truth, you’ll be reminded that healing is not linear, God is with you in the waves, and you do not have to recover through shame. If you are searching for help with how to heal emotionally, how to recover after being triggered, Christian support after painful experiences and trauma, or how to find peace when old wounds resurface, this episode will meet you with both compassion and direction.Scriptures referenced in this episode:Isaiah 43:2Matthew 11:28Psalm 23:2-3Romans 8:1If this episode speaks to you, be sure to subscribe and consider leaving a review to help other women find the podcast. If you’ve been listening… feeling something stir… but staying on the edge of getting support,I want to invite you into Live Worthy.Live Worthy is a 90-day, small-group coaching experience for Christian women who are ready to move out of burnout, overwhelm, and self-doubt…and into a more grounded, peaceful, and confident life in Christ. You don’t have to keep doing this alone.👉 Learn more about Live Worthy and book a conversation at: crosswindscollab.comI’d be honored to walk with you.✨ Work with me: Book A Consult Here✨ Join the Free Worthy & Whole community on FacebookFollow LeighAnn Ricci on Instagram or FacebookThank you for listening!Christian coaching, burnout recovery for Christian women, identity in Christ, emotional burnout, overgiving, faith-based personal growth, worth in Christ, Christian life coach, spiritual growth for women

When What You Offer Isn’t Received the Way You Hoped (This isn’t about the Cake)
Have you ever offered something meaningful, your time, your love, your presence… only to feel a quiet disappointment when it wasn’t fully received? In this episode, we explore a simple but powerful realization sparked by an everyday moment: serving birthday cake.Because sometimes… it’s not about the cake. It’s about what it represents, shared joy, connection, and the desire to be received. And when that doesn’t happen, it can leave us questioning our value, overextending ourselves, or pulling back altogether. But what if the deeper invitation isn’t about how others receive what you offer… but about who God is forming you to become through your obedience? In this episode, we’ll talk about:Why it can feel painful when what you offer isn’t fully receivedHow overgiving and emotional burnout can be tied to misplaced identityThe difference between giving from overflow vs. needing affirmationHow to stay anchored in your worth even when others don’t respond the way you hopedAnd why your offering still matters… even if only one person receives itThis is a conversation about identity, obedience, and learning to love from a place of fullness, not lack.Romans 12:15 “Rejoice with those who rejoice…”John 10:10 “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”Luke 15:4 The parable of the lost sheep (the one matters)Matthew 26:6–13 The woman who poured out the costly oil2 Corinthians 9:7 “God loves a cheerful giver.”Nehemiah 8:10 “The joy of the Lord is your strength.”If this episode resonated with you, I’d love for you to share it with someone who may need it and leave a review so more women can find this space. And if you’ve been listening… feeling something stir… but staying on the edge of getting support,I want to invite you into Live Worthy.Live Worthy is a 90-day, small-group coaching experience for Christian women who are ready to move out of burnout, overwhelm, and self-doubt…and into a more grounded, peaceful, and confident life in Christ. You don’t have to keep doing this alone.👉 Learn more about Live Worthy and book a conversation at: crosswindscollab.comI’d be honored to walk with you.Christian coaching, burnout recovery for Christian women, identity in Christ, emotional burnout, overgiving, faith-based personal growth, worth in Christ, Christian life coach, spiritual growth for women✨ Work with me: Book A Consult Here✨ Join the Free Worthy & Whole community on FacebookIf you found this episode helpful:⭐ Subscribe to the Worthy & Whole Podcast⭐ Share this episode with a friend who may need encouragement today⭐ Leave a review to help more women discover faith-centered encouragementFollow LeighAnn Ricci on Instagram or FacebookThank you for listening!

In a world that constantly feels loud, busy, and overwhelming, many of us feel like we’ve lost our peace and now chaos is the new normal. But what if peace isn’t something we’re supposed to maintain perfectly? What if peace is something, or someone, we can learn to return to?In this episode of the Worthy & Whole Podcast, LeighAnn explores why even good things in life can leave us feeling overwhelmed and spiritually stretched. Through a relatable grocery store analogy and biblical wisdom, she shares how we can reconnect with the true source of peace - Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. You’ll learn how to recognize when life has pulled you away from peace, why emotional and spiritual resilience matter, and how simple moments of returning to God can restore calm even when life’s waves feel overwhelming. If you’ve ever felt like you’re carrying too much, this episode will remind you that you were never meant to carry it alone.Peace isn’t something we maintain perfectly.Peace is someone we return to.John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.”Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast.”Psalms 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.”Philippians 4:6-8 “Do not be anxious about anything… and the peace of God will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”Scriptures ReferencedIn This Episode We'll Discuss:Why peace isn’t about perfect circumstancesHow overwhelm can come from both struggles and blessingsA simple mindset shift that helps you return to peace quicklyWhy Jesus is called the Prince of PeaceAnd if you’re ready to go deeper in your journey toward peace, confidence, and identity in Christ, visit:www.crosswindscollab.com✨ Work with me: Book A Consult Here✨ Join the Free Worthy & Whole community on FacebookIf you found this episode helpful, please rate and review the podcast, it helps more women find this message!Follow LeighAnn Ricci on Instagram or FacebookIf this episode encouraged you, please:⭐ Subscribe to the Worthy & Whole Podcast⭐ Share this episode with a friend who may need encouragement today⭐ Leave a review to help more women discover faith-centered encouragementThank you for listening!

Faith in the Waiting: Trusting God When You're Desperate
Faith in the Waiting: Trusting God When You're DesperateHave you ever felt like God was answering someone else’s prayers while you were still waiting for yours? In this episode of Worthy & Whole, I talk about what it means to trust God when His timing doesn’t match our expectations. Waiting seasons can challenge our faith, especially when we see others receiving the breakthrough, healing, or answers we’ve been praying for.Through the powerful story in Mark 5:21-43, we see two people come to Jesus in desperation: a woman who had suffered for twelve years and a father pleading for the life of his dying daughter. One receives healing immediately, while the other must walk through devastating delay before witnessing a miracle. This passage reminds us that faith is not measured by how quickly prayers are answered, but by our willingness to continue trusting, continue walking with Christ even when the outcome is uncertain. If you’re walking through a season of waiting for healing, clarity, restoration, or peace this episode will encourage you to hold onto faith and remember that God is still working, even when we cannot yet see the full story.• Why waiting seasons can challenge our faith• What the story of Jairus and the bleeding woman teaches us about trusting God• How faith grows even when answers to prayer feel delayed• Why comparison can make waiting harder• How to keep trusting God’s character in uncertain seasonsMark 5:21–43 , Romans 8:28 , Hebrews 11:1 , 2 Corinthians 5:7 , Proverbs 3:5-6Where in your life are you currently waiting for God to move?Have you experienced the tension of watching someone else receive what you’ve been praying for? What might it look like to keep trusting Jesus in the middle of that waiting? If this episode encouraged you, consider sharing it with a friend who may also be walking through a waiting season. To learn more about faith-centered coaching and resources for Christian women seeking healing, identity, and peace, visit:✨ Work with me: Book A Consult Here✨ Learn more about coaching: www.crosswindscollab.com✨ Join the Free Worthy & Whole community on FacebookIf you found this episode helpful, please rate and review the podcast, it helps more women find this message!Follow LeighAnn Ricci on Instagram or FacebookThank you for listening!

Beauty Was the Strategy. Worth Was the Need: Beauty, Self-Worth & Belonging
In this episode of Worthy & Whole, we explore the difference between cultural beauty and biblical worth and why so many women, myself included, have confused the two.Have you ever struggled with body image, comparison, or feeling like you needed to “fix” something about yourself in order to belong or feel good enough? In this vulnerable and personal reflection, I share my own story of chasing ideals of beauty to feel acceptable and how I discovered that beauty was never the goal, worth was.Together, we unpack what Scripture says about how God sees us through His unchanging love.If you’ve ever wrestled with insecurity, self-image, or trying to earn approval, this episode will gently remind you:Your worth was never meant to be measured by the world's expectations. You are already seen, already known, and already chosen.1 Samuel 16:7 “Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”Psalm 139:1-4 Fully known by GodPsalm 139:13-14 “Fearfully and wonderfully made”Song of Songs 4:7 “You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.”John 4 The Woman at the WellJohn 8:1-11 The Woman Caught in AdulteryLuke 10:38–42 Mary at Jesus’ FeetIf this episode resonated and you’re ready to explore identity, healing, and living anchored in your God-given worth:✨ Work with me: Book A Consult Here✨ Learn more about coaching: www.crosswindscollab.com✨ Join the Free Worthy & Whole community on FacebookIf you found this episode helpful, please rate and review the podcast, it helps more women find this message!Follow LeighAnn Ricci on Instagram or FacebookThank you for listening!

You’re Not Socially Awkward - You’re Trying to Manage Belonging
Have you ever walked away from a social situation feeling awkward, exposed, or exhausted. What if you’re not socially awkward at all? What if you’re simply trying to manage the tension of not being sure you belong? In this episode, I share that the desire to belong is wired into us, and how fear of rejection can hijack that desire. When fear leads, we either withdraw or over-function. But when we are anchored in Christ, we no longer have to perform for acceptance. We look at Peter on the Mount of Transfiguration and what his overwhelmed response reveals about our own tendency to default to doing instead of listening. You don’t have to manage every room to feel safe inside it.If God has led you there, you already belong. (2 Timothy 1:7, Philippians 1:6, Matthew 17:1-8 (The Transfiguration), Mark 9:2-8, Luke 9:28-36)If this episode resonated, I invite you to explore my signature program, Worthy & Whole, where we learn to anchor in peace, discern with clarity, and move through life without over-functioning.Visit: crosswindscollab.comFollow me on Instagram or FacebookJoin my free Facebook community: Worthy & Whole | Faith, Healing, & Identity for Women

Attuned to Peace: Emotional Safety and Heart to Heart Connection
In this episode, we explore the power of attunement, the kind that goes beyond words and reaches the nervous system, the heart, and the spirit. We discover that attunement is a pathway to emotional safety and wholeness.Have you ever knew you were cared for… but not truly safe emotionally? Or noticed how some apologies don’t quite land? Emotional safety isn’t about saying the right thing, its a commitment to authentic presence and to meet people where they are without forcing or rushing. We’ll talk about: What attunement actually is, why emotional safety shapes identity, the difference between healthy attunement and survival-based hyper-attunement, how Jesus models regulated, compassionate presence, and a simple reset to practice self-attunement in your everyday life.If something in this episode resonated with you and you’re ready to go deeper, my 6-month Worthy & Whole journey is designed to help Christian women untangle survival patterns, rebuild emotional safety, and live grounded in Christ. What to Expect When You Start to Heal the Worth Wound
In this final episode of the Worth Wound series, we focus on what you can expect as you do the powerful work of healing the worth wound.Healing the worth wound isn’t just about feeling better about yourself, it’s about addressing the identity-level wound underneath so many of the struggles women carry every day: We talk about why resistance and discomfort often shows up after growth begins, how the brain and nervous system respond to change, and why stepping into greater confidence can sometimes feel harder before it feels easier. You’ll hear why discomfort doesn’t mean failure, how to recognize spiritual resistance without fear, and what it looks like to stay grounded when life asks more of you. This episode is an invitation to consider your own journey and how the worth wound has shown up for you and how you can move forward with confidence and intention. Trusting the work of transformation, one faithful step at a time.Scripture woven throughout this episode includes Psalm 139:13–14, Ephesians 1:4–5, Ephesians 2:10, 2 Corinthians 10:5, Exodus 34:6, Ephesians 6:16, and Esther 4:14, each pointing us back to the truth that our worth is secure in Christ and that growth is sustained through daily renewal, not perfection.Stay ConnectedIf walking Worthy & Whole resonates with you and you'd like to continue this conversation:Learn more about my work here: www.crosswindscollab.comBook a free clarity call here: https://l.bttr.to/boAu9Find me on Facebook or InstagramJoin the Free Facebook community: HereIf this message resonated, be sure to subscribe and leave a 5-star review. The Worth Wound: Healing Identity, Not Behavior
If you’re tired of self-improvement and worn out from trying harder, this episode is for you.In this conversation, we explore why the worth wound cannot be healed at the level of behavior and why true healing begins with identity. We talk about how shame forms, why “trying harder” doesn’t work, and how both Scripture and neuroscience point us toward the same truth: lasting transformation comes through renewing the mind and embodying the truth of who God says you are. This episode offers a gentle, grounded starting point for healing, not by adding more to your day, but by letting go of what was never yours to carry and returning to your God-centered identity.2 Corinthians 10:5: Taking deceptive thoughts captiveRomans 12:2: Being transformed by the renewing of the mindJohn 8:32: Knowing the truth that sets us freePsalm 139:14: Fearfully and wonderfully madeEphesians 1:5: Adopted into God’s familyEphesians 2:10: God's masterpiece, created with a plan and for a purposeStay ConnectedIf walking Worthy & Whole resonates with you and you'd like to continue this conversation:Learn more about my work here: www.crosswindscollab.comBook a free clarity call here: https://l.bttr.to/boAu9Join the free Worthy & Whole community on Facebook: HEREFind me on Facebook or InstagramThanks for listening, please subscribe and leave a 5-star review to help this message reach other women. Trying Harder Won’t Heal the Worth Wound
In this opening episode of the Worthy & Whole Podcast, LeighAnn explores the quiet but powerful struggle many women of faith carry, the exhaustion of trying harder to feel good enough, only to find peace and self-worth still feels out of reach.LeighAnn introduces what she calls the worth wound: the deeply rooted and common belief many women of faith hold that our value is tied to performance, productivity, or being needed - even when we know God loves us.This episode isn’t about fixing yourself or striving more. It’s an invitation to pause, name what’s really happening beneath the effort, and give yourself permission to begin reorienting toward the truth of who you already are in Christ.Worthy is who you are.
