101 - Releasing vs. Resistance

from Assertive Radiance

In the past year, I've done my fair share of releasing, mainly releasing expectations from others, false beliefs, and old baggage that was not serving me anymore.Earlier this week, as I was talking with my mentor, Pati, she said: "I was resisting." Although in the context she was using it, she was correct. However, what came to me was the negative connotation we have given to the word resisting. When seen from a duality, we tend to think that resisting is bad. While I talked with Pati, I reminded her that there's a purpose in life to have a certain degree of resistance. As an example, resistors are used in electronics to adjust the current flow.Bringing these concepts in my reality, I noticed that to move away from old unsupportive habits; it requires a certain degree of resistance. If I choose to stop drinking soda, I've got to resist the temptation to buy more at the store. In this episode, I share my views as to when it's important to resist or release.
