35. Breakdown to Breakthrough: You're Not Broken, You're Becoming

from LIBERATED · host Leslie Medley

Hello my loves! Welcome back to LIBERATED the Podcast. This one is raw, real, and totally unedited. It was recorded live on Instagram, straight from the edge of my comfort zone (yes, even the “I feel like I might poop my pants” kind of nerves 😅). But that’s what makes this transmission so potent. In this episode, I drop into the somatic reality of what it means to lead, share, and be seen. I get real about the very human sensations that arise when we are stepping outside of our zone of comfort and how instead of resisting them, we can learn to work with them. We explore the truth that what feels like a breakdown is often a portal to our next breakthrough. I open up about what it really feels like to be seen in your sacred work. To lead while shaking. To show up when your nervous system is screaming run. We talk about the very real somatic sensations that rise when we’re expanding—and how most of us have been taught to avoid or suppress them. But what if that tight belly, racing heart, and sweaty palms aren’t signs you’re wrong… but signs you’re ready? I share what it means to meet those edges with reverence. To stop fighting the sensations. To stop labeling them as bad. And instead, to feel them, breathe with them, and let them guide you to your next breakthrough. This transmission is for the woman on the edge of evolution. The one who’s been doing the work, but still finds herself bracing for the next leap. The one who knows she’s not here to play small, but feels the very real, visceral fear of being fully seen.  I weave in the teachings from our “Metamorphosis March” inside Spirit Tribe and share how they’re leading us into a season of full bloom. This is such a beautiful moment to pause, breathe, and remember: what feels like a breakdown is often the exact moment your next becoming is being born. I also share a guided practice at the 33 minute mark of this episode. If you would like to watch the video format to see the hand positions demonstrated for some of the practices, you can watch that here. So grab your journal, pour some tea, and drop in with me. You’re not broken, you’re becoming. Let’s breathe through it together!!

Imagine an academy deeply rooted and committed to the classical liberal arts, stocked to the brim with well-known, world-class faculty, and universally accessible. Now imagine it being completely affordable, even free.  This was the vision of St. Albert the Great, father of classical education: an education that is at once freeing and free.
A true and human liberation has always been the promise of an education in the liberal arts. Indeed, for the better part of the last 3,000 years, it was no mystery where one could learn how to cast off the shackles of the world and what to study to achieve that liberated state.  In no uncertain terms, the classical liberal arts undoubtedly served as the intellectual foundation of Western Civilization.
However, we are no longer a society of free men. The tradition of the liberal arts was left behind in favor of a more “practical” alternative.  Many were promised a “liber Inner Light Project: A New Paradigm Of Healing®‬ Gurds Hundal Liberation Alchemist + Matriarchal Expert, Gurds Hundal is a dynamic voice for the modern generation of highly achieving, matriarchal women.
