Durante las últimas semanas he escuchado repetidamente la palabra retener,cuando se refieren a frenar la salida de un cliente, un afiliado, un suscriptoro de un empleado.Incluso me han pedido cursos para retener clientes para cuando se van adesafiliar o retener “talentos” cuando algún empleado valioso quiere renunciar,porque tiene una opción de empleo con mejores condiciones.Cuando una empresa habla de retener clienteso retener talento, muchas veces partedesde el miedo a perderlos.Pero nadie quiere sentirse retenido. Ni un cliente. Ni un empleado. Ni lapareja…Retener suena a frenar, amarrar, impedir que sevaya.Reencantar, en cambio, implica volver a conquistar, volver a seducir.Un cliente no se queda solo porque tienecontrato. Se queda porque vuelve a encontrar valor.Un empleado no permanece solo por sueldo o beneficios. Permanece porque vuelvea encontrar propósito, reconocimiento y futuro.Y ahí está la diferencia estratégica:Retener esdefensivo.Reencantar es atractivo.Las empresas que solo retienen reaccionancuando el cliente o el talento ya está mirando la puerta.Las que reencantan trabajan antes: escuchan, sorprenden, actualizan la propuestade valor y hacen que la relación vuelva a tener sentido.Porque al final, no se trata de que laspersonas no se vayan.Se trata de que quieran quedarse.Reencantar es mejor queretener, porque nadie se compromete de verdad con una empresa que solo intentano perderlo.
