The Civil Rights movement in the 50's and 60's was rooted in the Black Christian Church. Before Twitter and Facebook organizers would mobilize activist in Churches for demonstrations, protests, and to strategize. This meant the principles of the movement were rooted in Christian values, which meant a commitment to dignity, character, equality for all, and nonviolence. These values are in stark contrast to the values of the Black Lives Matter movement currently inflaming the world. That's because it's based on a totally different ideology than the Christian values that won Black America so many achievements in the 50's and 60's. The BLM movement is fueled by many different ideologies, and the founders have admitted that a foundational ideology is Marxism. However, there is an even more prevalent ideology in the Black community that is fueling the current unrest, and it is an equally troubling philosophy as Marxism -- perhaps more!
