Bailey Zimmerman talks with TC & Dina B. at Stars & Strings 2024

from TC & Dina B Podcast

After a whirlwind couple of years dropping hits and touring the world with Morgan Wallen, Bailey Zimmerman officially has album number two on the brain, and he’s taking his time to get it just right. Hanging backstage ahead of his performance at Audacy’s Stars & Strings Presented By Discover® at the Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL, Bailey Zimmerman caught up with TC & Dina B. to chat about everything from FB Marketplace, a potential collab with Morgan Wallen, taking his time on his next album, and more. After exchanging some best practices to go about doing the safest FB marketplace exchange, Bailey addressed all the talk of a Morgan Wallen collab, admitting, “Your guess is as good as mine… I don't know what's going on.” “I don't know,” he continued, “we're both really busy, so we haven't really got the chance to get together or hang out and write a song, but I'd imagine one day," going on to add, “I would love a collab with Morgan. but in due time.” As TC pointed out, “something that I think we've waited maybe enough time for now, that you can control is album number two,” asking “do we have any news on that?” “So, last year it was like a big year, we did a lot of things,” Bailey expressed, “and when we were getting ready to go cut this next album… I was gonna put it out last year, but then it just didn't feel right.” “I wasn't super in love with some of the songs. I kind of needed a break anyways just from life and what's going on… So I've kind of took this year to live more, to just give myself more time to maybe write songs that I wouldn't have got to put on this album,” he says. While he acknowledged “I know people wanted me to” put out his album last year, himself included, “sometimes you got to do what's best for you, and at the time, I really needed a break. I needed some downtime just to, not only chill, but like reminisce on what's been going on,” Zimmerman expressed. “You know, we've done two years, almost three, years of tour with Morgan,” and “a lot of stuff before that. So it was nice to take this year… take it all in and… get some relationships better in my life… work on myself as well.” But now that’s all in the past. “Right now I'm like full album mode,” Bailey shared, “I'm cutting songs,” noting “I've got a lot of songs that I'm really in love with and I'm continuing to get songs each day too.” “So I'm kind of just taking my time and I really... I want every single song to be something that I'm so proud of,” he added. Bringing up his debut album, Religiously, Bailey noted “There was a lot of songs I love, but there was also a couple of songs that I put on there that I didn't super love… They were good, but this time I wanted to be like, I love this, I'm dying to put this out. So that's where I'm trying to get to, to where I'm like, I gotta get this out, I’m ready to go.” Admitting that’s actually “where I'm at,” Bailey’s busy cutting songs in the studio… Not only that but tracking songs, getting them ready to put out.” And as of now, his plan is to try to put out a single in January. While it’s still very much in the works, Bailey did reveal “This next album, it's really just gonna be a lot of reminiscing on just the hard battle that it was to get here and, and the things that I've kind of been through, and a certain relationship that I had to go through, that's where it stems from a lot.” “It's so funny, Bailey imparted, “because it actually like really relates to my real life. I’ve really been trying to put it to bed and I can't seem to put it to bed in my mind. And every day I think about it and I really want this album to be something that kind of puts that to bed for me and I can, like, move on from it.” Sharing that as another reason “why I think why I'm taking my time.” To “really make sure I get everything that I wanna say out.” To close out the ...
