Born in 1929, Bevin has seen plenty of history across the Clarence Valley and still has plenty of stories to tell.I sat down over a coffee at his local café to talk about his remarkable life. Beven is a life member of the Clarence River Jockey Club, was one of the very first employees at the Grafton Brewery in 1952 and also among the first employees at Peters Ice Creamery in Grafton.Now at 97 years young, Beven still walks every morning at 5am, enjoys a cold beer and doesn’t mind the odd punt. He’s part of a generation that helped build our community and it was an absolute pleasure to spend some time with him.
