Diess zählte bereits zu den meist zitierten, kommentierten und genannten DAX-CEOs in Deutschland bevor er selbst überhaupt dem Netzwerk beigetreten war. Der Volkswagen CEO und sein Kommunikationsteam haben früh die Relevanz der Sozialen Medien in der internen und externen Kommunikation erkannt. Wöchentlich investiert Diess mindestens zwei Stunden für die Redaktionskonferenz, kein Kommentar, kein Post wird veröffentlicht, bevor er ihn nicht gelesen hat. LinkedIn zählt laut Manske auch zu den effektivsten Tools, wenn es darum geht die 660.000 Mitarbeitenden in 153 Ländern zu erreichen. Insgesamt setzt Manske bei der Kommunikation nach außen auf eine Mischung zwischen unterhaltsamen Content und ernsthaften Themen. Wichtig ist, dass die Beiträge authentisch sind, findet er. „Wenn ich einem CEO auf Twitter oder LinkedIn folge, dann möchte ich seine persönliche Haltung sehen und den Menschen dahinter wahrnehmen.
