CHASING AND ESCAPING AT THE EXPENSE OF FEELING FREE

from Intelligent Intoxication · host Terri Bradway

Welcome to Season 2 of Intelligent Intoxication: Crafting A Top-Shelf Life.    “My favorite way to think about soul power is the quality of being radically FREE, because one is neither trying to escape something, nor chase something.” Simone Grace Seol   When we are in the habit of CHASING “something more”, we are likely: stuck in comparisonitis feeling envious or jealous believing that “there” will be better than “here” We CHASE because: we don’t think we’re enough, whole, worthy, or valuable we’re trying to prove our worthiness we’re seeking approval, permission, or validation When we CHASE, we get the immediate yet temporary BENEFIT of looking forward and/or living in anticipation. Yet, the habit of chasing is costing the opportunity to receive and enjoy abundance in the present moment.  When we are in the habit of ESCAPING, we are likely: numbing or avoiding by engaging in:overeating overdrinking overworking overcommitting over-Netflix-ing over-scrolling overthinking detached from our body and emotions procrastinating blaming others We ESCAPE because: it hurts too much not to our emotions are too hard to feel it feels unsafe to be in the present moment When we ESCAPE, we get the immediate yet temporary BENEFIT of avoiding what we don’t want to feel. Yet, the habit of ESCAPING is costing us the opportunity to feel, process, and move through our emotions and past traumas.    I invite you to consider these questions: How willing are you to seek the help you may need in order to stop chasing or escaping? In order to feel radically free, what must I be willing to stop escaping? In order to feel radically free, what must I be willing to stop chasing?   Thank you for investing your valuable time and energy into listening to the podcast.
