Dasha at 'Stars and Strings'

from TC & Dina B Podcast

Inside the Hard Rock Artist Lounge at our 'Stars and Strings' show in Hollywood, FL, Dasha sat down with TC & Dina B, which in itself is a feat considering her choice to opt for "stand-up jeans" rather than "sit-down jeans." "Sometimes there's outfits that are just so good that you're like, 'it's worth it.' I can't really breathe or sit, but I look really cute," smiles Dasha. "Suffocating a little bit, but we look good." Dasha took the stage at 'Stars and Strings,' en route to a new album and celebrating her recently released EP, 'Anna.' "I feel like because 'Austin' got so big so fast, I mean overnight I was like known as the 'boots' girl, you know, it was pretty cool, but I felt like I had to kind of take a few steps back and explain, 'hey, this is who I am and this is where I come from," Dasha says. "I'm from California and I grew up on Country music and I love storytelling and kind of rewinding in that way, and also sharing that since I was a little girl like I've never wanted to do anything else with my life except for what I'm doing." "Doing what I'm doing is just like absolutely insane to me because it's actually my dreams coming true," she adds. Anna is the artist's first name, though her family has always called her by her middle name, Dasha. "My family's always call me Dasha. Dash is what my friends call me," she explains. "I do not respond to Anna. It's just like calling me Fred. Like lights on, no one home." Now that the EP is out, Dasha is working on her next album, titled 'Dasha.' "Everything's just kind of coming together right now. We're just like literally on a call about it and I'm just like getting giddy," says Dasha. "Songwriting is my favorite part of all this craziness, so I'm just getting a little geeked up and excited to write it." With Dasha set to hit the road with Tucker Wetmore, TC & Dina B also had to ask about the duo's relationship. "Tucker is bestie. We love Tucker," she admits. "I feel like our stars kind of rose at the same time, so all of a sudden we're just everywhere at the same time, our managers are really good friends and our crews are really good friends, like our bandmates and everyone." "We're just really good friends and, I mean I do love taking videos of him working out and stuff and they go viral and it's kind of fun. It's entertaining for me as much because I'm providing for the girl community. You're welcome. Tucker's bestie."
