Enneagram Object Relations or Harmony Groups - Rejection Types 2, 5, & 8
from Enneagram Typecast · host Lee Milligan
The Object Relations or Harmony Groups were developed in part by Dr. David Daniels and Riso & Hudson to help us understand how we relate to, connect with, and engage with the world. An object relation is how we influence or are influenced by something/someone else. It is how we express ourselves through other people/things as an expression of a particular parental wound. In this episode, we discuss The Rejection Triad (Relationists). The Rejection Group is composed of Types 2, 5, and 8. Those with a rejection object relation feel as though others reject them. Since others don't care about their needs, they reject their own needs too. Consequently, their relationships deal with issues like not wanting to be touched or nurtured. In spite of feeling rejected, they believe they only have one gift to offer to prevent future rejections. As a result of these rejections, they develop a sense of self by offering their talent. There is contentment in accepting that one has many gifts to offer the world and that what they perceive might be needed might not be true.
