==Instagram & Note(Blog)==https://www.instagram.com/outsidejapclass/https://note.com/taitaijapclass==How to use the scripts=1.You can listen first and guess the meaning without the script.2.You can read the script while listening.3.You can also practise reading out loud with the audio.However there is no right or wrong way.You can also simply enjoy the content and listen to the podcast for fun.Just relax and enjoy the podcast==Japanese and English scripts==去年のクリスマスに、クリスマスのクラッカーを初めて使いました。Last Christmas, I used a Christmas cracker for the first time.みなさんは、使ったことがありますか。Have you ever used one?見たことはありますか。Have you ever seen one?パーティーのテーブルに、細長い紙のものが置いてありました。On the party table, there was a long, thin paper object.それがクラッカーでした。That was the cracker.あとで知ったのですが、クリスマスのクラッカーは、イギリスのクリスマスパーティーでよく使われるそうです。I learned later that Christmas crackers are often used at Christmas parties in the UK.アイルランドやカナダ、オーストラリア、ニュージーランドなどでも使われているそうです。They are also used in places like Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.だから、イギリス式の文化があるシンガポールでも、使われているんですね。So it makes sense that they are used in Singapore, which has British-style culture.でも、最初は使い方がまったく分かりませんでした。But at first, I had no idea how to use it.そもそも、クラッカーだと思いませんでした。I didn’t even think it was a cracker.どうやって使うものか, 見当もつきませんでした。I couldn’t imagine how to use it at all.二人で向かい合って、両端を持ちます。Two people face each other and hold each end.そして、同時に引きます。Then, they pull at the same time.その形を見たのは初めてでした。It was my first time seeing that kind of shape.分からなくても、しかたがない気がします。I feel like it’s normal not to understand it.中には、小さなものが入っていました。Inside, there were some small items.クイズやトリビアが書いてあるものもあるそうです。Some crackers have quizzes or trivia written on paper.でも、私が参加したパーティでは、ジョークが書いてあるカードと知恵の輪だけでした。But at the party I joined, there were only joke cards and a puzzle ring.周りの人は、その知恵の輪をなかなか解けませんでした。People around me couldn’t solve the puzzle ring easily.でも、私はすぐに解けました。But I solved it quickly.子どもの頃、ダイソーで知恵の輪をいくつか買ってもらっていました。When I was a child, my family bought me several puzzle rings at Daiso.家でよく遊んでいた記憶があります。I remember playing with them a lot at home.その経験が、思わぬところで役に立った気がしました。That experience helped me in an unexpected way.最初は、小さな紙について何も聞いていませんでした。At first, no one explained what the small paper was.だから、日本のおみくじのようなものかなと思いました。So I thought it might be like a Japanese fortune slip.でも、書いてあるのはジョークばかりでした。But it was full of jokes.それが少し意外で、でもおもしろかったです。That surprised me a little, but it was fun.
