Let’s explore why!?==Instagram & Note(Blog)==https://www.instagram.com/outsidejapclass/https://note.com/taitaijapclass==How to use the scripts=1.You can listen first and guess the meaning without the script.2.You can read the script while listening.3.You can also practise reading out loud with the audio.However there is no right or wrong way.You can also simply enjoy the content and listen to the podcast for fun.Just relax and enjoy the podcast==Japanese and English scripts==みなさんは、今住んでいる場所をどう思いますか。How do you feel about the place you live now?楽しいですか。Is it fun?それとも、少し退屈だと感じますか。Or do you feel it’s a bit boring?日本語の授業で、こんな会話練習をします。In Japanese class, we do this kind of conversation practice.「シンガポールの生活はどうですか。」“How is life in Singapore?”そのとき、ときどきこんな答えを聞きます。At that time, I sometimes hear answers like this.「楽しくないです。」“It’s not fun.”「面白くないです。」“It’s not interesting.”「退屈です。」“It’s boring.”私は、その答えを聞いても、何も言いません。When I hear that, I don’t say anything.人それぞれだと思うからです。Because everyone feels differently.ただ、今日は私の考えを少し話したいと思います。But today, I’d like to share my thoughts a little.私は、シンガポールはあまり退屈ではないと思います。I don’t think Singapore is very boring.むしろ、楽しい方ではないかと思います。Actually, I feel it’s quite enjoyable.もちろん、物価が高いです。Of course, the cost of living is high.お金がかかる趣味は、少し大変かもしれません。Hobbies that cost money can be a bit difficult.例えば、ゴルフやショッピングです。For example, golf or shopping.お酒やギャンブルもそうですね。Drinking or gambling as well.お金がないと、なかなかできないと思います。Without money, it’s not easy to enjoy them.でも、そうじゃない趣味もあります。But there are other kinds of hobbies.例えば、本を読むことです。For example, reading books.ゲームをすることです。Playing games.寝ることが好きな人もいます。Some people like sleeping.食べることが好きな人もいます。Some people love eating.料理や運動が好きな人もいます。Some people enjoy cooking or exercising.こういう趣味は、どこにいても同じですよね。These kinds of hobbies are the same wherever you are, aren’t they?日本でも、アメリカでも、中国でも同じです。In Japan, in America, in China—it’s the same.だから、場所はあまり関係ない気がします。So I feel the place doesn’t matter so much.それに、シンガポールはとても便利です。Also, Singapore is very convenient.いろいろなものが、すぐに手に入ります。You can get many things easily.食べ物の種類も多いです。There are many kinds of food.私は、これは少し贅沢だと思いませんか。Don’t you think this is quite a luxury?あと、こんな意見もあります。There is also this kind of opinion.「自然が少ない」という意見です。Some people say there isn’t much nature.たしかに、それも分かります。Yes, I understand that.山やスキーが好きな人には、少し物足りないかもしれません。If you like mountains or skiing, it may feel lacking.日本にいれば、季節ごとに楽しめますから。In Japan, you can enjoy those things each season.でも、考え方を変えるとどうでしょうか。But what if we look at it differently?一年中、暖かい国で、海の近くで、ゆっくり過ごしたい。Some people want to live in a warm country and relax near the sea all year round.そういう生活にあこがれる人もいると思います。I think some people dream of that kind of life.そういう人は、日本に住んだら残念に思うかもしれません。Those people might feel disappointed living in Japan.それから、言語のこともあります。There is also language.日本では、英語や中国語を勉強している人が多いです。In Japan, many people study English or Chinese.でも、使うチャンスが少ないです。But there aren’t many chances to use them.少しもったいないと感じる人もいます。Some people feel it’s a bit of a waste.その点、シンガポールはいろいろな言葉が聞こえます。In Singapore, you can hear many languages.毎日の生活で使うこともできます。You can use them in daily life.色々な言葉を話してみたい人にとっては、とてもいい環境だと思います。For people who want to try speaking different languages, it’s a great environment.なので、結論は、So, in the end,住んでいる場所が退屈かどうかは、whether a place feels boring or not考え方や、趣味によるということですね。depends on your mindset and your hobbies.同じ場所でも、楽しいと感じる人もいれば、Even in the same place, some people feel it’s fun,退屈だと感じる人もいます。and others feel it’s boring.私は、どうせなら、For me, if possible,楽しいところを見つけて生活したいなと思います。I’d like to find enjoyable parts and live that way.
