==Instagram & Note(Blog)==https://www.instagram.com/outsidejapclass/https://note.com/taitaijapclass==How to use the scripts=1.You can listen first and guess the meaning without the script.2.You can read the script while listening.3.You can also practise reading out loud with the audio.However there is no right or wrong way.You can also simply enjoy the content and listen to the podcast for fun.Just relax and enjoy the podcast==Japanese and English scripts==シンガポール生活最初の1週間についてMy First Week of Life in Singapore私のシンガポールでの生活が始まったのは、My life in Singapore started whenコロナの制限が、少しずつゆるくなってきたころでした。COVID restrictions were slowly being relaxed.大変そうだなと思いましたが、It felt like it might be difficult,同時に、面白いタイミングだなとも思いました。but at the same time, I felt it was an interesting moment.空港に着いて、そのままタクシーに乗りました。I arrived at the airport and got into a taxi.そして、決まっているホテルに向かいました。Then I headed to the hotel I was told to stay at.車の外を見ると、緑がとても多かったです。When I looked outside the car, there was a lot of greenery.木が高くて、葉っぱも大きいです。The trees were tall, and the leaves were big.日本ではあまり見ない植物も、たくさんありました。There were many plants I don’t often see in Japan.ああ、東南アジアに来たんだなと思いました。I thought, “Ah, I’ve really come to Southeast Asia.”その景色を見て、少しワクワクしたのを覚えています。I remember feeling a little excited when I saw that view.シンガポールに着いてから、まず隔離生活が始まりました。After arriving in Singapore, quarantine life started.ホテルの部屋の中に、ずっといる生活です。I stayed inside a hotel room all the time.期間は、一週間でした。It lasted for one week.正直に言うと、To be honest,最初は、大変そうだなと思っていました。at first, I thought it would be hard.ストレスがたまるかもしれない、とも思っていました。I also thought I might get stressed.でも、実際は、全然つらくありませんでした。But in reality, it wasn’t hard at all.一日、ほとんど誰とも話しません。I hardly talked to anyone all day.その時間が、意外と心地よかったです。That time felt surprisingly comfortable.静かで、仕事以外の予定がありません。It was quiet, and I had no plans except work.自由だなあと思いました。I felt free.暇な時間って、いいなあと思いました。I thought free time was really nice.ああ、やっぱり私は、外よりも部屋の中が好きなんだなと思いました。I realized again that I like being indoors more than being outside.部屋の中では、本を読んだり、仕事をしたりしました。In the room, I read books and did some work.一日が、とてもゆっくり過ぎていきます。The days passed very slowly.動画を見たり、音楽を聞いたりもしました。I also watched videos and listened to music.スマホがあれば、一人でも、いろいろな時間の使い方ができます。With a smartphone, even alone, there are many ways to spend time.今の世の中は、便利だなと思いました。I felt that the world today is very convenient.ごはんについても、特に困りませんでした。I didn’t have any trouble with meals either.私は、食べものに、あまりこだわりがありません。I’m not very picky about food.だから、味について、不満を感じることもありませんでした。So I didn’t feel unhappy about the taste.部屋の中での一週間は、私にとって、いい時間でした。That week in the room was a good time for me.外には出られません。I couldn’t go outside.でも、気持ちは、落ち着いていました。But my mind felt calm.実は、昔、旅行で一度、シンガポールに来たことがあります。Actually, I had visited Singapore once before as a tourist.そのときは、友だちと一緒で、にぎやかに過ごしていました。At that time, I was with friends and had a lively time.だから、細かいことは、あまり見ていませんでした。So I didn’t notice small details.今回、ホテルで生活して、This time, living in a hotel,日本と少し違うなと思うことに、気づきました。I noticed some things that felt different from Japan.例えば、トイレとシャワーです。For example, the toilet and the shower.シンガポールでは、トイレとシャワーが、同じ場所にあります。In Singapore, the toilet and the shower are in the same space.シャワーを使うと、床が全部ぬれます。When you use the shower, the floor gets completely wet.トイレに行くと、足もぬれます。When you go to the toilet, your feet get wet too.そのとき、トイレを英語で「バスルーム」と言う理由が、わかりました。At that moment, I understood why toilets are called “bathrooms” in English.トイレとバスルームを分ける必要がないんですから。Because there is no need to separate them.昔は、よく分からなかった言葉ですが、It was a word I didn’t really understand before,体験すると、自然に分かることもあるんだなと思いました。but through experience, some things become clear naturally.そんなどうでもいいことを、Thinking about small, unimportant things like thatゆっくり考えていた時間が、slowly and quietly私のシンガポールでの最初の生活でした。was my first period of life in Singapore.
