Episode #222: The Myth of Race Weight

from Running Rogue

You will commonly hear runners talk about getting to their "race weight" in order to achieve their goals on race day. I'm here to tell you that, as a running coach, I don't believe in that way of thinking. In fact, I believe it can be destructive and lead to under performance in many cases. In this episode, we talk about how to reframe the discussion around race weight both in your mind and in your physical training. It's not the number on the scale that matters but rather the work you are doing to be the best running version of yourself. Healthy inputs = healthy outcomes and that equation as nothing to do with the weight you *think* you should be.
