Episode #28: USA Track and Field Championships Preview Show

from Running Rogue

Track geek alert! Steve and Chris couldn't help but sound off for 2 full hours on the upcoming USATF Outdoor Track Championships that are coming at you THIS weekend: June 22-25. In this episode, they give you an overview of schedule/logistics and break down all of the distance events. Plus at the end, they share a few stories to watch from the sprint and field events as well. The event breakdowns come in order of appearance at the meet, so you can take this one in smaller chunks as the events come. The 10K final is Thursday night, so we definitely recommend working through the first bit by Thursday evening. Going head to head with predictions in all five distance events, Steve and Chris are competing for the title of Head Track Geek for the Running Rogue podcast. Public bragging and shaming rights are at stake. Who will win?!? This episode is for track geeks and newbie fans alike. We try to demystify the meet and give you the key athletes and stories to watch for! Guests will include both former and current believers in a variety of conspiracy theories, as well as debunkers, skeptics, and the investigators of those theories. I’m Mick West, a debunker. I wrote the book Escaping the Rabbit Hole – How to Debunk Conspiracy Theories using Facts, Logic, and Respect. This book came from my experiences running Metabunk – a debunking forum. Over the years I realized simply presenting corrections to people is not enough. We need effective communication, and we can’t do that if we don’t listen to and talk with each other. I’m hoping this podcast will help bridge that gap. Explicit Nerd on the Street Kaori Akari and Jason Rayn Welcome to our block! Explicit Running In Slow Motion with Sidney & Tamra Smith You Hear Good Things podcast network Comedian Sidney Smith and his wife Tamra — a sharp-witted educator with a soft spot for flowers — team up to navigate life, goals, and culture at their own hilarious, at times, in-depth pace. They call it “running in slow motion,” and that pretty much sums up the vibe. This isn’t a marriage podcast (their union ranks a generous 5 out of 10, after all), but it is a refreshingly honest, smart, and funny take on relationships, ambition, and everyday chaos. From real talk to pop culture and unexpected interviews, it’s a joyride of relatable moments and laugh-out-loud observations. Explicit
