Evolution of the Goddess Within Me

from Sahwira Sisterhood Podcast · host Sahwira Sisterhood

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I am SO looking forward to exploring the archetypes of Afrikan goddesses for 2026! It aligns perfectly with this year’s theme for the Sahwira Sisterhood: Evolution of the Goddess Within Me.So, here’s the plan:* We meet on Zoom on each Full and New Moon at 7:00pm Eastern Time. That’s a given no matter what our theme is or if we choose a different path for the year.* At each of these Zoom gatherings, we do a ritual aligned with 1 of the 4 goddesses we are discussing that month. (Yeah - we will be introduced to approximately 4 Afrikan goddesses each month throughout the year - 1 each week.)* Never fret! There will be a downloadable workbook + a classroom in our private community where all the information for each of the goddesses will be accessible for you to dive into at your own pace and you will have lifetime access to the classroom.* At the end of the year, we will do a self-initiation ritual, initiating ourselves into the archetype of the goddess that is within.* This is available to all members - whether or not you have made the decision to enjoy the additional benefits of paid membership. This is our (r)evolution! Our time to take a stand - no matter how loudly or quietly - and embrace the goddess that lies inside of each and every one of us. It is a “self-love initiation, awakening the goddess within and your sacred personal power, and a summoning to deepen your knowledge of self” (Abiola Abrams - emphasis mine). It is time for us to awaken our power and step fully into our Authentic Self. What it is not is a journey of indoctrination into any spiritual or religious tradition. It is a deep dive into self. An introspection to excavate self-awareness. A means and tool to get to know Who You Be…It’s all about you, baby!Who you are and how you want to show up in the world. Embracing your authenticity and not allowing the over culture to limit or silence you or suppress your being. It is taking a stance for self and not allowing anyone or anything to cause you to play small or dim your light. As Marianne Williamson said:“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?Actually, who are you not to be?You are a child of God.Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine,we unconsciously give other peoplepermission to do the same.As we are liberated from our own fear,Our presence automatically liberates others.”While I don’t personally resonate or align with the religious references in this famous quote, what I do align with passionately is the ethos of the writing. I don’t know if this could have been said any better by anyone! And it is a manifesto for our time together in 2026. We are here to shine and shine BRIGHTLY!So - are you ready?!?!? Are you ready to embrace the truth of who you be and allow that light to shine? I know I am! If you identify as a woman of color, meet me on Zoom at 7pm Eastern Time - the Full Wolf Supermoon - and let’s dive in!
