In this English language interview today, we are speaking with Dr. Cayla Rosché, a lecturer of music at Lawrence University and an expert in Icelandic lyric diction and art song. Dr. Rosché received her DMA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where her doctoral project focused on Icelandic singing diction and the music of composer Jón Leifs. Notably, she was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to teach phonetics and research Icelandic art song at the Iceland University of the Arts. Dr. Rosché has also received grants from the American-Scandinavian Foundation and the Foreign Language Area Studies to support her research on Icelandic lyric diction and repertoire.
