Find Your Tribe

from Trauma Recovery Anonymous · host richiejtierney

We  each need to find our tribe. Due to our past experiences, we are changed, we are new beings. We might no longer fit in with our family of origin. We might not fit in with the community or work colleagues we are in the company of. We mighty find we need to meet others who have walked in our shoes, who know what it is like to have come from trauma. There is nothing wrong with them or  with us. We are not broken, crazy or insane, we are just changed human beings. Maybe we need to start looking for a new tribe. Maybe we have to leave our family of origin behind. Maybe we are no longer a perfect fit for each other.  We can feel like a square peg in a round hole and it doesn't matter how much we try, we just don't fit in anymore. Especially for warriors, their tribe is other warriors who have walked in their shoes. It might mean going somewhere to learn new skills to reinvent yourself. But first, it means accepting the truth that you were misdiagnosed, that you are not crazy, that you do not have a mental disorder and thus the only viable solution to your predicament, is to accept you have a hole in your soul and you need to heal your broken spirit, before you start to change how you respond to life. Entering into a rehab for 6, 9 or even 12 months, even on the other side of the world, might be the best plan.  Imagine you coming home a whole new human being with a portfolio that will get you almost any job you might apply for, or for a veteran, this action might  give them the ability to re-enlist . What might that be like for you. Only you can decide.  Whatever your misdiagnosis, you heal the hole in your soul. You cast out your demons You slay your dragons You break free of the shackles and bondage of the past You unlearn all that dysfunctional behavior of that diagnosis You reinvent yourself by becoming a whole new human being, packing your portfolio with many new skills.   The Cause is the Past Trauma Memory The Effect, is how it manifests in a person’s life, their broken coping skills. For the past 80 years we have been focused on the Effect and not the Cause. With this 2 part program we teach the client; that they are the only person who can heal themselves; by changing their attitude, outlook and perspective about the past and how it intrudes on the present and must be returned to its rightful owner.
