Forgiveness and Forgetfulness

from Trauma Recovery Anonymous · host richiejtierney

When it comes to making peace with our past, forgiveness is probably the hardiest step to take for many individuals. But as we work through this spiritual concept of healing, we have to accept that there are two separate angers to deal with. Accepting the premise of this solution that the past didn't happen to the person we are today, that it, in fact, happened to a younger aspect of us, and for us to have life today, would mean they have already dealt with their anger issues. This leaves us with our built up resentments accumulated against that abuse and others over the accumulated time. This is what we are faced with and we have a choice. We always have a choice. We can suffer that anger and wrath; we can use it to fuel our rage and victimhood; we can seek vengeance and justice over our lifetime; we can allow it to rule and define us. But there is a price, they sat having resentments is like taking poison waiting for the other person to die. Now that we are embracing God's spiritual solution and claiming miracles, understand if we hold onto the anger and resentments, then at the end of our enemies days, they will not be held accountable for the sins against you or your inner child and they will get a free pass into heaven. But, if you give your anger and wrath to God; He will visit his punishment of them; and they will face the fires of hell for all eternity along with 7 generations of their descendants. Comparing the type of punishment we can achieve from man, pales in comparison, to what God can mete out on our behalf. So, to achieve this healing we need to give them to God, freely and unconditionally.
