Interactive fabrication with Max Alberts

from Making with Machines

Our first guest episode stars Max Alberts, a designer with an interesting background and a cool project to tell us about!Max started his education in orthopedic technology, where he had his first encounters with 3D printing as a tool. Picking it up as a hobby, he continued to investigate the role that 3D printing could have in his practice. However, when he started his Master's in Industrial Design at the Eindhoven University of Technology, he started to regard the machine as a way to make creative things.During his graduation project, he made a 3D printer that allowed live modification of G-code, facilitating more open-ended exploration with texture and structure. The outcomes are not predetermined, and looking at the machine and material inspires different explorations. Now he is teaching at Orthopedic Technology, where he is curious how he will interweave his design thinking into the education.Curious about Max and or his project?
