Back at the terminal, the Trans Global shuttle bus has finally arrived. “Your attention please,” says the Gate 33 gate agent, “Trans Global Airlines’ The Golden Argosy, Flight Two nonstop to Rome, is now ready for boarding. All passengers holding confirmed reservations, please proceed to Gate 33, Green Concourse D.” He repeats the announcement in Italian. Ada Quonsett listens attentively while Peter Coakley reads a magazine. “Oh, Rome, ” sighs Ada. “The Coliseum, the Sistine Chapel… the Catacombs. My dear late husband and I always planned to visit there. ‘See Rome and die,’ he always said.
