Once a Slave (Ep 201)
from PocketNeif Podcast · host Mike Neifert
I was once a slave to sin. I've been set free by Jesus. This song speaks of both truths. My prayer is that you will find the freedom from slavery to sin I have found. Once a Slave Verse 1: I once was a slave to sin, obedient unto flesh. I lived for myself, not for my God. The things I did back then, brought only guilt and shame. There was no life; there was no gain. Bridge 1: I was enslaved to the life of flesh. My heart was bound in chains of sinfulness. Dead in my sin, deserving of God’s wrath; I needed Christ to set me free. Verse 2: All thanks be unto God, I am no longer bound. I’ve been set free through faith in Christ. All glory unto Him, the Savior of the world, Who broke sin’s chains; Who made me new. Bridge 2: I count myself dead to the life of flesh. I don’t let sin reign in my body now. Alive in Christ, my ever-living Lord, Who lives in me; He lives in me. Verse 3: I live not under law, but under God’s own grace My righteousness is from the Lord Not earned by what I’ve done, not by the good I know But won by Christ, upon that tree. Verse 4: I live now as a slave, but not unto my flesh I am obedient unto my Lord The wages of my sin, they were forever death; But the gift of God, eternal life. © 2023 PocketNeif Music
