Richard Albert on Constitutional Amendment

In this episode, Richard Albert, William Stamps Farish Professor in Law and Professor of Government at the University of Texas at Austin, discusses his new book, "Constitutional Amendments: Making, Breaking, and Changing Constitutions," which is published by Oxford University Press. Albert begins by explaining what it means to amend a constitution and why understanding the amendment process is critical to understanding how constitutions work. He describes how constitutions can be amended and the different kinds of constitutional amendments. He reflects on whether a constitution or amendment can be "unamendable."
