She works within these nurturing settings and leads a committed team of youth workers, teachers, volunteers and befrienders who know that relationships are at the heart of learning.Emma taught English in mainstream secondaries for 23 years and was a LiteracyDevelopment Officer for the City of Edinburgh Council. She is an associate tutor on the Edinburgh University PGDE course and has published one journal paper in the Scottish Affairs journal on ACES looking at the practical ways in which Spartans ‘Builds the Bridge of Trust’ with young people.
