Enter Dr. Daniel Jackson (James Spader) who has some interesting theories as to who built the pyramids, could it be ALIENS?! The military intervenes when Col. Jack O'Neil (Kurt Russell) is reactivated to lead an exploratory mission thru the wet portal hole to the other side of the galaxy where we discover that humans have been transported to another planet in order to mine a precious metal that powers the tech of an alien from a dying planet looking to extend it's life, Ra (Jaye Davidson).
