Thank You for the Things I'm Not Thankful For (Ep 36)

from PocketNeif Podcast · host Mike Neifert

There are things which happen in life for which we are less than thankful. Cars break down. Shirts get stained. Food spoils. What do we do when these things occur? We whine and complain! We have so much and still we mumble about how unfair life is. Thank You for the Things I'm Not Thankful For is my musical attempt to wake myself (and others) up to the truth: I have enough and then some! It is a reminder to each of us that we must, as 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, "...give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." Thank You For the Things I'm Not Thankful For Verse 1: Thank you for the things I’m not thankful for Drafty windows and cold, hard floors Thank you for the things I’m not thankful for Broken faucets and squeaky doors. Lord, I’m thankful, but not enough, for the home I have. Verse 2: Thank you for the things I’m not thankful for Blown out tires and paint that peels. Thank you for the things I’m not thankful for Dents in my bumper, fan belts that squeal. Lord, I’m thankful, but not enough, for the car you give. Bridge: So many things you’ve given me I do not thank you for Just like an ugly spoiled brat, I cry and scream for more than I have. More than I need, I have. More than I need, you give. Verse 3: Thank you for the things I’m not thankful for Milk that’s spoiled and coffee gone cold Thank you for the things I’m not thankful for Rotten watermelon and bread with mold. Lord, I’m thankful, but not enough, for the food I have. Verse 4: Thank you for the things I’m not thankful for Worn out shoes with treadless soles. Thank you for the things I’m not thankful for Ugly jackets and shirts with holes. Lord, I’m thankful, but not enough, for the clothes you give. 2014 Mike Neifert
