The Need for Connectedness (2)
from Victory Temple Chantilly's Podcast · host Home Of The Free
"Anyone who does not love remains in death." 1Jn3:14 NIVThere is a direct link between your health and yourrelationships. When you're disconnected and isolatedfrom others, you're two to five times more likely to diethan people with close ties! Even people with badhabits like smoking, overeating, and physical inactivity-but who remain socially connected-live longer thanpeople with great health habits but who are isolated. We see the physical, life-giving power of connection inthe life of Winston Churchill. He had a wonderfulmarriage, was deeply connected to his family, hisfriends, his nation, and his work. But his health habitswere terrible. His diet was awful, and he constantlysmoked cigars. He drank too much, had weird sleephabits, and was completely sedentary-yet he lived toninetv ears old. That reminds me of the newspaperreporter questioning an old man about his longevity: "Isuppose it's because you take systematic exercise. The man quipped, "The only exercise I take is actingas a pallbearer to my friends who have indulged instrenuous exercise!" (Note: We're not condoning badhabits!) God said, "It is not good...to be alone" (Ge2:18 NIV), because when you're alone, you're morelikely to succumb to temptation and discouragement, become self-absorbed, and spend money in selfishways. Not only do you suffer, the people God put inyour life get cheated out of the love He intended vouto share with them. You say, "But I've been hurt bypeople." We all have. But just as the answer to asnakebite is snake venom, the answer to badrelationships is good relationships. And God has somein store for you-so talk to Him about it today.Send us Fan MailSupport the showChanging Lives | Building Strong Family | Impacting Our Community For Jesus Christ!
