the state of the world in 2024: where are we headed?

from MICAIAH'S PODCAST · host Micaiah Kenaé Ransby Horn

in this episode, i dive into a topic i’ve been trying to tackle for a while now —the state of the world in 2024. things are complicated, overwhelming even, and breaking it all down is no easy feat. the world we’re living in today is a far cry from what many of us grew up in. technology has integrated itself into every aspect of our lives, creating both connection and disconnection at the same time. we’re more “plugged in” than ever, yet somehow more distant from each other. now, i know there are some people who may not feel the impact of what’s going on, but i can confidently say that many do, myself included. whether it's being directly affected or simply feeling the need for change, there's been a noticeable shift. whether that shift is for better or worse depends on your perspective, but more people are starting to question the systems in place. there’s a growing desire for a different world.securing a good job has become a major challenge. it seems like unless you’re pursuing a career as a doctor, lawyer, or scientist, education is losing its relevance. for someone like me, who just wants to be creative, it’s gotten tough. since graduating, i haven’t been able to land a job in my field and after applying to thousands of positions, all i get back are spam texts, fake offers, or polite rejections. even buying something as basic as groceries has turned into a struggle for many. and the current presidential race feels more like a joke than a serious decision. there are so many more layers to the state of the world in 2024 but it leaves me wondering: where are we headed from here...?
