In episode 159 of the TigerTalk podcast presented by Northeast Mississippi Community College, host Will Kollmeyer welcomes Northeast president, Dr. Ricky G. Ford, to the podcast as Kollmeyer and Ford sit down to discuss a variety of topics that are happening at the college. This week's episode marks 56 straight weeks for Ford and ties him on the Joe DiMaggio hit streak. Ford discusses the upcoming fall semester and the college's stance, as of now, on whether masks or other protocols will be in place for the fall semester as well as the close of one of the largest summer school enrollments in school history. Ford talks about all that is going on around the college to make the college look great for the employees, students and community members and gives a tip of the cap to the hard work that the employees of the college's facilities and maintenance department has put into making Northeast one of the top institutions in the entire country. Ford gives an update on renovation and construction projects such as the Claude Wright Room and the hallways on the second floor of the Union, the new outdoor classrooms coming to the Booneville campus and the ongoing MDOT Phase II project that is set to make safety improvements to the north side of campus. In Athletic news, Ford talks about the revitalization of the Northeast tennis program and a campaign through the Northeast Development Foundation to build a state-of-the-art tennis complex while renovating the current tennis courts in the process. Ford talks about the addition of archery in the fall and spring and the possibility of adding volleyball in Fall 2022.
