The United States Navy established an elite school for the top 1% of pilots and when the top pilot turns in his wings, Maverick (Tom Cruise) and his REO Goose (Anthony Edwards) slide into his spot for a chance at calling themselves the best. There's some stiff competition in Flight Town USA, mostly Slider (Rick Rossovich) flying ice cold, no mistakes with Ice Man (Val Kilmer) who finds Man alluring but dangerous.
